We visited the Hendredenny site over the weekend to enquire about our first home. As first time buyers visiting our first building development, we didn’t really know what to expect as in all honesty, we didn’t really have an idea of what we were doing. Our sales advisor wasn’t very helpful from the moment we got there. Even though we did our research beforehand, we kind of expected her to sit us down and go through the different houses, prices, offers and completion dates so we could have a vague understanding of what we could’ve been signing up to. Instead, she laughed at us and told us to just go and have a look in the show homes on offer, and that was that. We didn’t know what extras had been added into the houses, and what was the standard. This may seem like a silly thing to be upset about but as first time buyers who wanted a new build and to stay close to the Cardiff area, it’s put us off buying a house in the development as to is, if this was the behaviour of the sales advisor, then if we had any problems with the house, what would the rest of the company be like?

UPDATE 29th Dec 2024. Since my last review we have the following to add to the list. - missing insulation - dangerous electrics - more water leaks - swamp for a garden - crack in driveway YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. They are great at selling homes, but the sales people know how crap the product is that they are selling. ‐--------- If you want to buy a new, supposed premium house that is more like a 'fixer upper', go for it. But be prepared for maybe 18 months with LOTS of stress and disruption to finally get the house you paid a premium for. Even when things have hopefully been fixed, you will still be left with a house full of cheap low end fittings that you have overpaid for. The quality of the kitchens and bathroom fittings are awful - they look nice but are cheap cheap tat. Problem is you pay for premium and what you get isn't. Its cheap stuff that's installed badly. Worst still there will be LOTS of hidden issues for you to find over the years. Run for the hills while you can. I WOULD NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER REDROW HOUSE. HELL I WOULDNT TAKE A FREE REDROW HOUSE - NOT WORTH THE STRESS:- - They look nice, but build quality is a joke. The phrase 'polished t*rd' springs to mind. - They have no quality control - customer is left to find the problems themselves and oh there will be plenty of them. We had 300+ snags. Some small but far far too many were serious issues. - Much of the external house pointing was damaged and had to be redone. This on its own caused about 3 weeks of dust, noise and mayhem. Even now I guestion the repair is to standard. I believe the builders who did the remedial work have since been sacked as they were so bad....... - We had 50-60 damaged bricks replaced. - We had central heating that didnt work as it was wired incorrectly. Even now (10 months later) it doesn't work properly due to the thermostats being mounted on external walls that have issues. - We had a shower that had reversed hot and cold feeds and was mounted incorrectly with the knobs continously falling off. It took them over nearly 2 months to sort this and they destroyed half the bathroom in the process. All this when my wife had just had an operation and couldn't use the bath. They really dont care....... - All bathroom sinks were hanging of the wall at about 20degress from level. - We had multiple leaks in the kitchen - We had a number of kitchen units replaced as they were broken. - We have a new leak in the kitchen and another water damaged cupboard. - We have insulation missing and other related issues meaning some of the rooms in the house are cold. Just what you need when your partner is suffering from a chronic arthritis condition. - Most of the amtico flooring and carpets have issues such as the carpets are cut to short and have gaps and the amtico keeps lifting. - The above is just a flavour of what to expect - there is much much more. At the same time the general quality of workmanship throughout is shocking. This is down to a few things. Extremely poor site management (with the exception of Purna who does try to help); the use of what I can only describe as children as trades people who genuinely have no clue and to top it off absolutely zero quality control. We have been living in our disaster of a house for 10 months now and haven't bothered decorating yet as there is no point until all of the issues are resolved. In summary steer clear. Forgot to mention the site roads are also a total mess:- - Drains in the wrong place as Redrow seem to think water goes up hill, so lots of LARGE puddles all over the place. Over time this will end up with potholes everywhere. - Block paved roads that are a total mess I could go on.....

Informative and helpful staff. I still have lots of matters to sort before I can commit to buying at this minute. I prefer proper architect style floor plans , not the 3D views I also like to know overall footage, preferably in sq ft.at my age, for all property styles. I do like these heritage style homes compared to the modern 3 storey , dark brick coloured homes, with flat windows as I see often in new builds and especially in places like Cambridge. Please stay traditional with proper decent garages! I will buy!

Lovely welcome to the property by Sian, who gave us her time and showed us around this 3 bedroomed house, the Afon Teifi. The property had a really lovely finish and well designed. Fab. Lovely little garden with a garden shed in situ. I have to say, if it wasn’t for health reasons, I would have bought this property. But we did buy a Redrow apartment in the same place Cwrt Saint Ioan. Same high specifications. Well done Redrow.
