My family and I completed on and moved into our new home over eighteen months ago, so now feels like a good time to leave a complete and fair review. We found the onsite Sales Team to be knowledgeable and very helpful, a special thank you to Lisa and Nigel! Similarly, the Site Team were helpful in resolving some of the initial minor snags we reported. However, many snags were not completed in a timely manner. We believe that the design and layout of the house has been well thought through and, although we’re not experts, we feel the materials used are of a very good standard. Unfortunately, promises made during our “Hard Hat Visit” and subsequently by the Customer Services Team have not been kept. The outside areas are particularly disappointing; seemingly not enough topsoil was put down before our turf was installed and our driveway is very uneven, with a significant camber (even though it was explained to us at our “Hard Hat Visit” that this would be levelled out). Our fence and therefore, boundaries were also installed incorrectly and needed to be adjusted following us moving in. We’ve often found it frustrating and challenging to elicit even an initial response from the Customer Services Team, whether the snags we’ve identified have been reported directly or through MyRedrow. In totality, we don’t believe that we’ve raised many snags but in almost all instances we’ve had to send multiple chasers to receive an initial response and, sadly, what is promised in response has often not been fulfilled on time or at all. We’ve had to accept that some of the snags we’ve reported will not be resolved. We’ve had to report one issue as an “emergency”, with water leaking internally, and even this didn’t receive a response within the promised timeframe.

We visited the Hendredenny site over the weekend to enquire about our first home. As first time buyers visiting our first building development, we didn’t really know what to expect as in all honesty, we didn’t really have an idea of what we were doing. Our sales advisor wasn’t very helpful from the moment we got there. Even though we did our research beforehand, we kind of expected her to sit us down and go through the different houses, prices, offers and completion dates so we could have a vague understanding of what we could’ve been signing up to. Instead, she laughed at us and told us to just go and have a look in the show homes on offer, and that was that. We didn’t know what extras had been added into the houses, and what was the standard. This may seem like a silly thing to be upset about but as first time buyers who wanted a new build and to stay close to the Cardiff area, it’s put us off buying a house in the development as to is, if this was the behaviour of the sales advisor, then if we had any problems with the house, what would the rest of the company be like?
