GoogleStarted the process of looking for a first house purchase when living abroad in the US. Stephen Huff was really helpful and wasn’t phased by the additional issue of looking to complete when not even in the country! Circumstances changed and we were able to move back to the UK so put the search on hold, not an issue and despite not having paid Steve a penny, he was still happy to maintain our file and wait until we were in a position to buy again. A few months later, solid advice and we had an offer in on a house and a mortgage offer in hand but, unfortunately purchase fell through, again, no issue for Stephen and yet again he was helpful and patient while we continued the search. When we finally found the one we wanted we needed another mortgage offer - easily sourced by Stephen. Finally completed earlier this week and in no small part thanks to Stephen Huff and the team. Highly recommend the use of a mortgage advisor and especially Abbotts.

GoogleRosie was the lady who helped me with getting my rent sorted for my new flat, i was running out of time to move out of my new place and she was great. I was quickly in and with loads of help on everything from paperwork to how to sort out extra bits to make the move simple and easy. My move in date was actually a bank holiday and she showed up to give me the keys even though it was her day off, absoute gem.

GoogleAbsolutely appalling company. Things didn't start well when no agent turned up for my inital viewing appointment but, foolishly in hindsight, I made another appointment. The property was obviously cheaply built and decorated (carpets didn't quite fit properly, double glazing was blown), but it was suitable for my needs, so I signed a 12 month lease. Within a few months I was visited by a council employee who told me that Abbotts Countrywide had rented the property to me unlawfully and that I would almost certainly be made to leave long before my lease was up. Sure enough, I was sent a notice of termination of my tenancy and given 2 months to find another property.
In addition to renting out a property without the required planning permissions, the property had no phone line and the water was via the property next door's supply (I was expected to liaise with the neighbours to work out what was a fair amount to pay off their bill!)
Since moving out at short notice and leaving the property extremely clean, Abbotts are presently attempting to hold onto my deposit to pay for cleaners (I was also notified that the carpets showed "damage" from furniture placement, referring to dents in the carpet where my bed stood. If only I had levitating furniture!)
Avoid like the plague unless you want a complete lack of communication, grief from the minute you move in and to have to take legal action to get your deposit back.
Worst lettings company I have ever dealt with (who had the cheek to tell me that it wasn't their responsibility to check their properties were compliant to rent!)
