Absolutely gutted with the negligence of this agency. We (myself and two other female house mates) have moved out of a property rented by them in July of 2022. It is now February 2023 and we still have not heard back from Ms Samantha Reynolds. It does not fall short to say that we are being swindled of our entire deposit. This agency claims to be in partnership with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme, which legally secures deposit fees, however we have been ignored for over 7 months. I would also like to mention that at the beginning of the process of renting the property, we received the most disgraceful service from an employee of theirs, who wanted us to pay the deposit before viewing the property, because there was an urge to get paperwork signed since there were various people interested. After further back and forth with this person, she finally agreed to show us the property and then we asked if we liked the property, whether we could process paperwork that same day, since we travelled over 1.5 hours to Colchester. She agreed and when we arrived, showed us the property and then proceeded to say that she is now going home and if we want to proceed we should go back to Colchester in the next following days. Clearly, there have been many red flags from this agency, and they have ignored legal protocal, which is why we are now in the process of involving our solicitors. If you want to have a peaceful and smooth tenancy, avoid this agency at all cost.

I requested to rent a property and Abbotts have been one of the few companies that will offer help (I’m a full time student). I have only ever lived with my family or in university accommodation, but Joe and Chloe were so helpful and were willing to sit down with me and go through the documents so I knew what it meant. I'd say as as far as we've seen the letting agencies, Abbott's is best. Me and my partner is from overseas. From the very beginning they were really helpful through the whole process. Especially I have to mention Nicole and Kerry. They both been advising and responding to both of us. They constantly been contacting us through each and every single thing. absolute disgrace we used this branch for letting using abbots to find the client TOTAL NIGHT MARE of a tenant that apparently should never have got past their searches in the first place we have used various estate agents over the years STRONGLY suggest YOU don't use this bunch o cowboys / any fool can stick an add in paper house for rent But when you go through an estate agent you EXSPECT them to do the relevant searches ETC AND be professionally responsible we have been seriously let down in this regard / had to go to courts to evict now tenant from hell is gone TRYING to reclaim deposit What a bag of spanners Mark L Jenkins
