GoogleUnprofessional and unfriendly service, tenants and landlords beware!
High fees for doing absolutely nothing. They only call when they want the tenant to agree to something, are very rude and bully you into agreement, but ignore any requests going the other way. No information when moving out. Could NOT GET DEPOSIT back and no response to my email asking about the deposit for 3 weeks. Repeatedly had to call their deposits branch in Norwich, who always told me they would call me back but never did. Finally had to go through MyDeposits and adjudication to get my deposit back (3.5 months after moving out!!!). And yes, I understand it's the landlord who has to release the deposit, but you guys clearly don't bother to chase the landlord about it or email to explain the situation AT ANY POINT IN TIME. Watch out as they put the deposit into a scheme that's only insured (landlord actually keeps the money), which creates an incentive for the landlord to hold on to the deposit and have the tenant have to claim it back through adjudication!!!! In my adjudication, the landlord didn't even bother to present any response, they were clearly just trying to hold on to the money as long as they could!
That's Countrywide for you - they charge you the maximum (also if you want a reference for having paid rent on time!) but do the minimum.

Whenever I visited or phoned the branch, all staff were extremely courteous and helpful but the manager Sarah went above and beyond to guide me through the process of becoming a first time landlord! They found me some excellent tenants, have kept me informed on property inspections, etc, and rental income has been received on time. Would definitely recommend!
