Unfortunately this branch lacks communication between themselves and between them and clientele. We’re first time buyers who put an offer on a property of theirs. We called to make an offer, to be told by the lady on the phone we needed to complete an offer form. Completed it and sent it back to her, and CC’d the guy who showed us around the property. We had not been told who to send it to so thought we’d just send it to both (and the only) people we’d had contact with. We sent this Friday evening and heard nothing Saturday, Monday or Tuesday. I called up Tuesday afternoon to chase, to which I was shrugged off by the same lady who said “well you’ve sent it to me but I don’t deal with sales”. She told me she’d forward it to the relevant people, to which I questioned why she couldn’t have done this when she received it? We then received a grouped email by a different guy telling us we were in a bidding war, so upped our offer slightly, but again no communication back to confirm receipt of the offer for days. When I called Friday I was told I hadn’t sent it to the correct person (to this day I don’t know who this was) and to send the increased offer to the general bishopston@ email for it to be dealt with. We were shrugged off to different people everytime we called up and not once did we receive an email confirming either of our offers. We did not get the property but in hindsight this was a blessing as we have since had a very positive experience with a very personalised estate agent who is in constant contact with us. I appreciate they deal with offers day in day out, however as a ftb this was our first offer and was a big deal for us & it left us very unsettled for over a week just wondering if they had even received our offers. I would not recommend unfortunately

Awful experience with this CJ Hole. They put my mother's flat up on the market 2 months ago, and not a single viewing. After enquiring, Jack told me, (and I quote) 'I can't drag people off the street to view it.' Rude and super cheeky, especially since another letting agent was able to tell me that it turns out that the listing CJHole had put up had a glaring mistake. Turns out they put the wrong leasehold duration on it, so no-one would have even viewed the listing. Massive waste of time, and it sat for 2 months empty, with no tenant meant I lost those months rental income as well.

My advice, ask questions and communicate often. Everyone will of course have a different experience, but many issues (at least what i experienced) can be resolved with talking. My experience renting a property through was actually up and down a lot, but much of that was not fully understanding CJ Hole’s role, and I know others have had a similar experience. Much of the problem ends up on the landlords end, CJ Hole are either essentially broker for the rental and then hands off (in which case it’s all down to landlord) or they are essentially a middle man representing the landlord (in which case they still have to get approvals from the landlord for things). My case was the latter, and there were some delays in repairs once or twice, but considering the back-and-forth of getting quotes, going to the landlord, going back to the providers, etc, it’s no wonder. It’s not what I’m used to having not come from here, but having the process explained to me, particularly by Orrin, helped put everything into context. It’s a stressful thing dealing with the place you and your family live and with so much money, but my overall experience was good once I was able to fully understand everyone’s role.

AMATEURS, UNTRUSTWORTHY LIARS; Statement from their website………. “When you choose CJ Hole, you’re choosing more than an estate agent. You’re choosing a partner who understands what makes Bristol special and what it takes to sell or let your property. Let us help you connect to your next chapter in Bristol’s story.” Their words…….?? However today, they are at full capacity so how can they keep to this promise??? We were going to list our property with them despite numerous failings from day 1; the director was late for the initial valuation, came again with the senior valuer and had to rush off as they had made another commitment, third time lucky they arrived with the trainee photographer and negotiators. Finally the director did his walk around to dictate the particulars and I was then shunned off when it was contract time to “show everybody the house as that’s what I am capable to do”??? The proof came for the listing and it was inaccurate, placing certain elements in the wrong rooms, rooms were also missing, the overall description of rooms was far from accurate and vital bespoke selling points were omitted too. We raised this and had to rewrite the description ourselves (the client!). Then the pictures arrived some time later and looked like a filter was used from love island making everything look orange! This was challenged and we were met with defensive tones and compared to other home Owners rather than taking on board the plethora of errors and putting it right! Contract terminated !!!
