GoogleJust off the start, we really liked the place we stayed at (rented through CJ Hole), but there were so many times when things just went wrong.
Full disclosure, I do own several properties (one of which is in the UK).
The viewing was uneventful, but the lady showing the property (she doesn't work there anymore) was rather arrogant. Anyways, we decided to take the property and start on 2025-03-15, which was a Saturday. I had a property provided to me through the company I started working for, meaning I would not sleep at this house before the 15th (couldn't as there was no bed), but I requested access to the house in order to start putting some boxes in (we relocated from China). That was denied, saying that this is an insurance issue... What? How? Again I do own properties and will ALWAYS allow tenants to get the keys before the start of the contract to make it easier for them to move. No such luck here, big minus. Even if this is was doing things 'by the book', I am very different and that didn't sit well with me.
We then had a nice time at the house and whenever things needed repairs they moves somewhat quickly. Unfortunately, the washing machine had reoccurring issues, but was never replaced.
When we moved out there were some spots on the carpets that we caused and knew that we would need to pay for professional cleaning (which we did with a company that was recommended by CJ Hole). The company couldn't do it so we were charged an additional amount for the replacement. I guess that is technically not fully their responsibility, but when we are told that we only have to pay for the additional cleaning, we naturally think this is it.
We were also charged hedge trimming, when the hedges were already overgrown when we move in (yes, I do have the pictures). Then there was an excessive cleaning fee (~450GBP) that included many things we did, including washing the floors etc. (and yes I have those pictures as well). Since we relocated to outside the UK I am sure the agency thought it would be too difficult for us to do anything about it and luckily I don't need the money, but you need to be aware that you will most likely be charged huge fees at the end of the rental term.
In addition, we moved out a few days before our term was up and I had asked a friend to go through the trash, separate it and put it to the curb the following week. Unfortunately someone came by before the lease was up, did the separation of trash and charged us for it.
That is just not ok.
I actually met someone rather nice from the CJ Hole office in Cirencester when I lived at the company house, which was also rented through CJ Hole, but my overall experience was a D minus at best. I would certainly not use them for any of my properties.

GoogleMy husband and I have viewed a few properties hoping to find our forever home and a few estate agents have been fairly aggressive in the sales pitch whilst rushing us round properties resulting in negative feelings. When we viewed a property in Cirencester through C.J Hole though, we were taken back with how wonderful, friendly, polite and professional Daniel Park came across.
