I put my house on the market late last year after a previous unsuccessful attempt to sell it. Tim was professional and understanding of my situation, listened to my views and only proceeded when I was ready. Had first viewings within days and offer made and accepted within 2 weeks. Lorraine who then took over did a fantastic job of leading me through the administration of selling, very knowledgeable and also calming when it all felt stressful (which selling a house is!). I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend CJ Hole.

CJ Hole were great, both as our selling and buying agent, and also having bought our previous house through them. What's really impressive is their professionalism and experience keeping a large chain together, with regular comms with buyers and solicitors, particularly Lorraine and Tim. They really know the area and integrated with the community. We originally went to another popular agent on the street who slightly undercut the commission but it was a big mistake in hindsight - they were less than transparent in their communication and didn't seem to know what to do when things got tricky. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again, they were realistic with their estimates but also negotiated well for both sides. Only complaint, screwtop processco! Seriously guys! ;-)

Seems like sellers have left some good reviews. We haven't used them for sales because they tried to charge double what our other agent did the job for. From a buyers perspective, I was also not impressed. They charged us for ID checks which no other estate agent ever has (we have delt with many). Additionally we had some quite unprofessional emails from George, which does not make us want to work with them in future.

“CJ Hole Henleaze and Westbury are now at full capacity…” Contact any other agent unless you want a catalogue of errors and delays from day 1. Tim the Director was late to the valuation without any notice, was then rushed. Tim excluded my partner from talks around contract (shunned her). He insisted she did a walk around the house with the trainee photographer/agent whilst details were discussed that were contradictory to what was previously promised. Photos were taken by a trainee agent who then decided to put a horrendous hazy filter on all of the pictures (didn’t represent the property). The floorplan was incorrect. Tim had missed rooms off of the write up and vital details referring to the specification of the property which subsequently had to be rewritten by us (the client). Upon speaking to a Senior valuer to raise the concerns (Rob), he stated that other people who have listed their property are happy with the photos, so why aren’t we?! Contract was then terminated before it had started.

My experience of buying a flat via C J Hole has been entirely positive. They arranged for me to view several flats in the Henleaze area during my research. All the staff who showed me round properties - Charlotte, Daniel, Tom, Nathan, Rob and others - were polite and patient. When my offer on a flat had been accepted, Lorraine, the Sales Progressor, kept me up to date with progress. She was also very helpful and sympathetic when any issues requiring sensitive handling arose. Other staff who answered the phone when I needed updating were also helpful. We had C J Hole as our Letting Agents for 8 years, and they did a brilliant job, so when we came to sell, we put the flat with them. They have an extremely professional, although friendly approach, and their communication at every step of the way was excellent. Their Sales Progressor is brilliant, as it takes the heat out of having to negotiate with a Buyer, having someone as an intermediary. CJ Hole did more than just bring Buyers who asked to view our property - they also did 'matchmaking' by suggesting to selected potentially suitable Buyers that they visit our property! CJ Hole's Sales Negotiators accompanied the visits very well and were very pleasant to to business with! One potential Buyer caused an unprecedented delay and had to be dropped but CJ Hole's Sales Negotiators promptly found another buyer! Then, the day before Exchange of Contracts, our Solicitor was closed down by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and we had to find a replacement! Such unexpected and unusual problems could have stalled our sale but CJ Hole's Sales Progressors, particularly the Henleaze Offfice's Senior Sales Progressor, were most diligent and successful in their efforts to keep everything on track, to keep everyone happy and to minimise delay! We have now Exchanged Contracts and it is clear that we would not have Exchanged so soon without the efforts of CJ Hole's Sale Progressors!

Definitely a positive experience for us. The team were great at the valuation/sales stage…. but that is almost the easy part. It’s after that point that the quality of the estate agent is SO important.
