I’ve had an excellent experience with CJ Hole, and I want to give a special mention to Skye. She has been absolutely amazing throughout the management of my property. Even though my situation wasn’t the easiest, her knowledge, professionalism, and calm approach made the whole process so much more manageable. She truly put me at ease and is a real credit to the company. I also had the pleasure of working alongside Skye and Shiz together, and they were both incredible, supportive, efficient, and always willing to go the extra mile. Avoid CJ Hole Clifton & Premium Abodes! I was given l a property with multiple Category 1 Hazards, including a broken front door lock, (zero security), and a structurally failing ceiling with visible damp and a strong mould smell. I would upload the shocking photos but Google keeps blocking it. As the property is uninhabitable I am now legally homeless and I have received literally no help from this agency as they state " they don't manage the property." They will not acknowledge their agents lied to me about supposed improvements which were due to be made prior to me moving in, and they wont acknowledge the fact they have knowingly rented a property in this condition. While an agent named Harry was compassionate, the rest of the team has been appalling. Lucy Jones has avoided most of my call by "being in meetings" and never calling me back, and the manager, Tracey, has refused to speak to me despite the urgency of the situation. They have ignored a formal Right to Unwind under Consumer Law and have basically allowed me to have a breakdown over my housing situation whilst constantly passing the buck to other agents and the landlord. If you want an agent that actually communicates and follows health and safety laws, go elsewhere. This office would rather hide behind desks than acknowledge mistakes and legal failings which made me homeless.

I had an excellent experience with CJ Hole during my property purchase. From the very beginning, James Brown was outstanding, professional, pleasant, and genuinely helpful. He showed me a number of properties and I immediately felt I was in the right hands. Once I expressed interest in a property, James followed up promptly, kept communication clear and consistent, and supported me right through until my offer was accepted. As a foreign purchaser, securing a solicitor was challenging, but James guided me patiently and helped me find the right one. Working closely with Victoria, who followed up efficiently with solicitors on both the buyer and seller side, the process was smooth and well-managed. Thanks to their combined support and dedication, I am now the proud owner of my property, completed in just over three months. Highly recommended.

My Property Manager was Skye Hutchins. She was diligent and well organised, an excellent communicator and honest in her outlook, managing expectations. She has a very personable manner and when I had a problem with a Tennent and payments, she worked really hard to liaise with the tenants, to help them find a solution. She kept me informed every step of the way and I believe her professionalism and continued communication was what turned things around in the end.

TL;DR: Please please do not rent any property associated with CJ Hole or DPL Partnership Limited! N.B. I am not naming the CJ Hole employees I have dealt with because I don’t want them to get into trouble with their boss. The issues I list are probably more systematic and not the fault of individuals. I’m sure the people who work for CJ Hole are lovely people in other aspects of their lives, they just have the misfortune to work for a terrible company! The flat I live in is extremely overpriced, which is of course DPL Partnership’s fault, but in this case you would expect good service from the property management. I am a full time university student who also has to work 20 hours a week, therefore I was hoping to live somewhere where issues are dealt with in a timely manner - this is certainly not the case! I am also diagnosed with OCD, autism and social anxiety, which has probably made matters worse. However, speaking to other people living in my block, my experience unfortunately seems to be the norm. When I first moved in, the flat was extremely dirty, even though CJ Hole said it had been professionally cleaned. The communal areas, such as the washing room, are also always filthy. As the building I live in is very cheaply built, things frequently break. Again, this is not CJ Hole’s fault, but they take an extremely long time to fix anything (generally over 3 months), and never provide compensation. Here are a few examples: extractor fan, leaking roof, tumble drying machines and bathroom wall (which I’ve asked to be fixed for over 6 months!). When contractors do come to “fix” things, they generally do a poor job - once a contractor defecated in and blocked my toilet whilst I was not there! Here is a case study which I believe perfectly illustrates my point: There is only one lift for the whole building, and this has been out of action for over 2 months. Now normally, this would be perfectly fine by me because I don’t mind walking, however I recently dislocated my knee and so am not able to climb up to the sixth floor where I live. Because of this, I am currently living in a youth hostel (which I chose instead of a hotel so it’d be cheaper for the landlord). When I asked to be reimbursed, they took a very long time. Furthermore, when they found out that my sister is staying in my flat whilst I’m away (which they discovered by spying on her using the security cameras), they demanded the money back, threatening legal action. To summarise, CJ Hole is a dishonest, lazy, incompetent and ruthless company which takes advantage of vulnerable people to make a profit for their landlords. I know that the housing situation in Bristol is awful, so like me you may have no choice, but if you do, I urge you to not rent anywhere managed by CJ Hole, or owned by DPL Partnership Limited. Good luck house hunting, I hope you find somewhere. :)

I visited half a dozen Bristol letting agencies' offices when I began searching. The staff at CJ Hole were the most pleasant and helpful. They were also the *only* one that followed up with me personally (rather than simply adding me to an email list); the agent (Sam) called me later on the same afternoon to tell me about two different properties that met my requirements, with viewings available the next day! Sam was brilliant from start to finish, she was friendly, easy to talk to and obviously had detailed knowledge about all of the properties she showed to me. The first place I viewed was so perfect my partner and I put an offer in right away, and Sam was helpful and upfront about every part of the process (including smoothing out an alarming problem that occurred during thw referencing process). I absolutely reccommend CJ Hole over and above the other big agencies in Bristol, and my partner and I feel lucky to have had Sam as our agent! I was recommended CJ Hole by a neighbour and I now can't recommend them enough myself! They were absolutely brilliant. I was looking to rent my property really quickly, and they DELIVERED. On the same day of calling them, they managed to get a floor plan made the same day, and viewings were organised for the next day by the end of which I had 4 tenant offers on the table. Communication throughout via email/phone calls was extremely good - I was liaising with Inga, Callum and Lucy. A small example of their expertise - they spotted a significant issue with an old EIC report which another estate agency hadn't - I then clarified with the electrician and they were absolutely right.
