Dreadful estate agency, poor customer service, and back covering when they get it wrong. We were in a rented property and they were instructed by the landlord to carry out the handover, report, and photographs. Prior to and at the handover we were assured by the agent carrying out the handover that we would have a copy of the documentation and then that we would have no concerns about DPS as the property was in good clean condition and only things were wear and tear (in line with our 2 year tenancy), so we would get full deposit returned. Imagine our surprise when the landlord refused to return the deposit and on contacting Beresford Adams they had deleted the entire file - all handover photos, reports, and evidence in their own words "because the landlord was unhappy with the contents"! Their actions deprived us of the only independent handover documentation, and may well ultimately cost us part or all of our deposit. The matter is progressing to Court regarding the landlord and deposit and to the Ombudsmen regarding Beresford Adams and their failure to adhere to their own industry standards as well as their deletion of pertinent handover evidence and files; so further failing in their obligation to maintain records.

Complaint against Chris Hassett

Me and my wife hired Chris to help us in buying a house. Being a close friend with Kris Dikes from Chester branch, he assured me over the phone that the vendor will negotiate if any repairs needs doing. But the email from Kris to us came that there is no room for negotiations, even further checks will be done for costs estimates. He lied to me in this respect and although he assure he will call me to discuss about this, he didn't. Very disappointed by how he handled with our case. Shame

Giving one star very reluctantly...we have had the most dreadful experience using this company! We are pensioners with very little savings (just enough for funeral costs) We had to sell our house because we couldn't meet the final Mortgage payment, we had only ever been able to afford to pay the interest on the mortgage due to personal reasons. When we were first told that a buyer was interested in our property, we were told " they were cash buyers,ready to move in straight away "...that was all a massive lie! and carried on like that for months on end resulting in us loosing thousands of pounds,and it affected my husband and my health badly.I could go on but it is too upsetting to even be reminded of this!

Absolute joke, we had an appointment for 5 o'clock, at 5.20 I rang up I got told they would be 5 minuets late as there was bad traffic, we waited till 6 pm after ringing loads, knowone turned up there phones were not on, so I had waited with my 9 month pregnant girlfriend in the cold for nothing.....
