Aleksandra & Diriye found very good tenants for my flat in Maida Vale. I find Hunters very efficient and professional. Highly recommended to any Landlords looking for quality tenants.

Try to avoid Hunters!! When we first moved in to the new flat, they didn't manage the process well: - Our Initial offer got accepted by the landlord, but when we got the keys and went to the flat, we realised that everything( furniture) we asked for in the offer wasn't in the flat. Apparently Hunters didn't discuss it with the lanlord, therefore they gave £150 to cover at least the chest of drawers we needed and also, to cover the wardrobe rail they broke when moving the wardrobe ( which it was something we put in the offer, but didn't do until we kept chasing them for it) - Check out inventory - not being very clear in the contract and 3 days in advance of the moving date of the new tenants, we have beeing asked to pay £170(+VAT) for the check-out inventory. Hunters didn't give us any other choise. But we checked the company Hunters use for this service, and of course, the price is £110( including VAT), where is the difference on the prices? In Hunter's profit! - Cleaning fee for the reasonable price of £165! When the first time we moved in, the flat was that dirty that it was even mentioned in the check-in inventory. The bathrooms where brand new and of course, were plenty of dust. Definitely the flat is in better conditions since we fixed few things. Now they are asking us to pay £165. We are still waiting a reply on this from Hunters but we have decided that after how things are being handled, we will report it - we rather spend more money on lawyers but to make sure Hunters learns the lesson of not taking advantage of customers.

Avoid this estate agent. They illegally held our deposit for 3 weeks for no reason. There was no dispute with our Landlord whatsoever, just Hunters. Shah, who runs this branch is to blame. His staff lied to me over the phone giving ludicrous excuses like, "their bank account was broken". Unfortunately this has happened to other tenants who were in bad financial situations. Our Landlord had to drop Hunters halfway through our tenancy as they were withholding rent. Further to this incompetence and keeping our money for no reason, Hunters also lied about our flat being furnished. I seriously cannot advise you to avoid this place more. Protect yourself and go somewhere else. The positive reviews are fake. These people will take your money, ignore you and lie to you. It's disgraceful that this practise is allowed to continue in the rental sector. Hunters are not worthy of a penny of your money.

William · 30 July 2019 · Hunters London (185 Church Street Stoke Newington)

Agent replied

Dear William, Firstly, I will like to thank you for your feedback. I’d also like to mention that your partner has also left a review relating to the same matter which I have responded to and I am lead to believe that you are here to tarnish the good work of Hunters Stoke Newington office has achieved. We pride ourselves with providing excellent customer service and it is our utmost priority to ensure customers are always happy. All our 5* reviews are genuine. Your deposit was returned to you. As we had a new accounting system, there was a few teething issues which we rectified. However, the main reason was we were waiting for the landlord’s authorisation before releasing any monies. Regarding the furnishing, you agreed, after negotiations, to take the property unfurnished. Should you wish to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact us on Hunters.managementstokenewington@hunters.com

Hunters lied to us from the start - we paid extra to get a furnished flat, only to move in to find no furniture, as the person managing this had been fired, there was no note and they refused to provide us with any furniture which we ended up buying ourselves at great expense. Additionally, as we agreed to pay a higher rate for furniture - they then issued everyone else in our flat block with eviction notices unless they agreed to pay the same rate as we were. Including a young family, whose child had justed started school around the corner. Oh and then - after ONE MONTH of living in the property they called us to say that we owed them £500 of admin fees (which we had never been told about) and if we didn't pay within a week we would have to move out of the property. When there were issues with the flat - such as the washing machine flooding our bathroom - they did not send someone round or sort it out. After two days of our washing machine leaking I managed to get the name of the plumber they use and organised this myself. But that was only after refusing to pay rent. About half way through our tenancy we learnt that hunters had not being paying our rent to the owner of the property and keeping it for themselves. 6 months later, the owner still hasn't received that money and I believe they are being taken to court over the matter. When we came to move out, they withheld our deposit from us - with no basis as they hadn't even managed to do an inventory when we moved in - we had to threaten legal action and involve the TDS to get it back. Terrible, illegal behaviour - absolutely do not rent or let your property with the Stoke Newington Branch or Shah.

Alice · 30 July 2019 · Hunters London (185 Church Street Stoke Newington)

Agent replied

Dear Alice, Thank you for leaving a feedback. Firstly, I will like to inform you that no furniture was agreed when you offered and you were happy to proceed with the property being unfurnished. Please refer to your offer letter. Regarding the tenant eviction- this is not correct. Hunters have never claimed a rent increase on your property or any of the other properties in the development . We do not appreciate false accusations and take these matters very seriously. You are right about the admin fee, you failed to pay this hence we contacted you for payment. We did not however say I quote “if you didn’t pay within a week, you will have to move out of the property” Again, this is a false accusation. We manage the property for the landlord, however this specific landlord had their own contractors. Before approving any works, we need landlord’s authorisation. This was a delay on the landlords end not Hunters. You then eventually managed to get in touch with the landlord’s contractor to carry out remedial works. Hunters have always paid landlords on time, not sure how you will get this information as you wouldn’t have any dealings with the landlord. Hunters haven’t been to court or will not be going to court relating to any of the matters you stated above. Again, a false accusation which we do not take lightly. Your deposit was registered, however, before releasing the deposit, we needed to make sure the landlord is happy for the deposit return as they carry out their own inventories. I can confirm an inventory was carried out and your deposit was later released to you without any deductions. I will like to discuss this further with you as we take these matters very seriously. Please contact us on Hunters.managementstokenewington@hunters.com Finally, I believe you also bought a property through us, I hope the exchange went smoothly and wish you all the best with your future endeavours.

Azhar and the team at Hunters provided an excellent service when I sold my flat through them. From a realistic appraisal of the property to securing the best price and managing the sales process through to completion, Azhar kept me informed every step of the way and was always incredibly helpful and pleasant to deal with. He even went over to read the meters on the day of completion when I couldn't do it myself. I can recommend Azhar and the team at Hunters without reservation in terms of attitude, expertise and their ability to get things done.

Jay Ahmed & Sha Miah have been excellent for me in letting out multiple properties at once. Jay has been really on the ball, with timely updates, good concrete negotiations skills and very dedicated to his job. Very professional in approach with both prospective tenants and myself. Every time I've needed something from him I've received contracts, documents, information immediately. Sha has been very pragmatic about the approach we take when trying to secure deals on a deadline and also has great knowledge of the current market. Would highly recommend Hunters letting agents if you're looking to rent out your property - these are the guys to go to. Great team work, from both in particular.

We are very happy we chose Hunters as the estate agent to sell our house for us. Throughout the entire journey it has been a pleasure to deal with every single member of the staff of their Pudsey branch. They were all professional but also cheerful and personal; none of them made us feel like we were just one of many customers. I particularly want to mention Alex, who was exceptionally enthusiastic about our house, an eloquent gentleman in his communication, who went out of his way - and out of office hours - in the first important stage, and to have it published how we wished it within Hunters format. I remember Mairead as well who we were one of the first customers for in this branch, who was also very personal and enthusiastic in her approach. Emma and Emily and Donna of the sales progression team have helped in a friendly manner. Last but not least Victoria, who was touched by our patience with our buyers, who translated that in fighting for our sales progression like a tiger. Would recommend Hunters with no hesitation!

Very disappointed! Started well but soon lost momentum. After changing to a different estate agent I had 3 viewings and one had been tying to view my house for a month with Hunters. I had to request my key several times. I get the feeling they want to sell your house but don’t want to put the effort in!

Steph · 30 July 2019 · Hunters Yeadon

Agent replied

Hi Steph, Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry that you weren't happy with the service you'd received from us. While you were on the market with us we arranged 15 viewings for you and gave you feedback along the way. I also unsuccessfully made attempts to arrange a home visit marketing review to discuss what we could do to get you sold. Remember, as this is my own business it is of no benefit to having your property sat on the market. I would also add that had someone enquired to view your property, I have absolutely no doubt that we would have made every attempt to get it booked in. Why wouldn’t we? I do thank you for your feedback though and if there are lessons to be leant, we will learn from them. I see your property has been on with the second agent for three months now and I hope you will soon get the offer you need to get sold. Kind Regards, David, Owner of Hunters.

I had the most awful experience with this estate agents. Yes sold my house fast but their ability to manage the process after this was disgraceful. My buyers were sending emails trying to resolve issues which were never shared with me. This lead to them pulling out at the last hurdle so hence I incurred full solicitors costs. The worse things was it caused horrendous stress and anxiety. Do not choose them .

Sarah · 30 July 2019 · Hunters Yeadon

Agent replied

Hi Sarah, Thank you for your feedback. Your sale fell through because your buyers solicitor asked for certification for the loft room which at the time you were unable / unwilling to provide. We as you know with your instruction tried to persuade them to proceed without but ultimately they decided to follow the advice from their solicitor. I very much regret that you feel this way but we did everything we possibly could to keep the sale together and at no point did we hold information from you. I genuinely thank you for your feedback though and if there are lessons to be learnt we will learn from them. I wish you all the best for the future. Kind Regards, David, Owner of Hunters

We had been trying to sell our property for a few years with no luck, We had a visit from David Metcalfe from hunters Yeadon who advised what we needed to do to sell and it worked. The property went for sale with hunters at 12 oclock and by 12.20 we had someone wanting to view, They came and viewed it and offered full asking price. We also used hunters solicitors and it was on done and dusted in 4 weeks. I cannot thank them enough. Very very happy.

Great service online, on the phone and in person. Everything worked out smooth and I was able to move into my new flat in under one week. Melissa was very helpful. Edit: After moving in, nothing was happening I asked for. After living in the flat I rented for half a year, I realised they have no interest in making people's life any easier. I asked some things to be changed before I moved in, and still did not happen after almost half a year. Also people just come into the flat without letting me know as they have the keys too. Not even knocking! Paying so much fee for this agency and getting literally nothing back! Never agan Hunters!
