Max Heath was extremely polite and in hindsight, we wish we had continued to use him. We insisted on using someone with more experience, as we had previously been let down by another local agent. Keith Comely was unprofessional and rude from the very start. He lost the keys to the property, which he then had the audacity to blame me for. I had driven over 70 miles to re-view it once under offer. He told me 5 mins before he was due to meet me at the property that my asbestos surveyor, who had surveyed the property a full week earlier, had not returned the keys .... he'd only just realised! He then went on the internet and accused me of using a dodgy company ... copy and pasting a bad review via email. He said he would report the lost keys to police as my surveyor was ignoring him (he did me too, but that's another story!) After I completed on the property, I called to ask if the lost keys had been reported and was told by Max that the locks had been changed. Keith hadn't even bothered to let me know. Keith knew how stressful the situation was, but made no attempt to make it less so. When the property is remarketed, Ellis & Co are the last agents I would use.

Alex was an absolute pleasure to deal with; he made contact quickly after my initial enquiry, he organised the viewing swiftly and was extremely quick to correspond with the landlord when my partner and I put in an offer. Everything was sorted in record time.
It's been the easiest process in my whole 15 years of renting and even since moving in, he continues to correspond quickly and efficiently and act on matters, when appropriate. Added to this, is that he's a nice chap!

1. First I was able to conduct my business remotely. i.e from a different city quite far from London and it was not possible for me to travel to London.

Daniel has visited the Meritage Centre in Hendon twice so far and has proved a real hit with our clients. He spent a day with those visiting the day centre, helping staff to serve tea and coffee, chatting and also playing Bingo! GoogleI approached Ellie and Co. Wembley office for renting a property nearby Preston road. When I moved in the house, I found the house was not at all in a great shape 1. There were nails and allen keys lying on the floor 2. The carpet was not cleaned 3. The hinges of the cupboards were loose and I had to remove the doors of the cupboards to prevent an accident 4. The Drawers were not cleaned 5. Boiler was not working 6. Microwave was missing 7. Fridge was not working I expected Ellis and Co. to do these checks before I moved in. I had to take 2 days of leave to clear off this mess and was very disappointed with their service. When I informed the staff of Ellis and Co., they were not ready to accept their mistake. It was projected as if I had done something wrong!! The worst came when I decided to move out after 6 months due to my commitments. I was told to professionally clean the house before I left. I told them it was not professionally cleaned before I moved in. But the Ellis and Co. staff was adamant and not ready to listen at all. A deduction of 100 pounds was made and deposit was returned to me after one month! The house was in a much better shape than when I moved in. I made sure everything was in absolutely clean before I left. Unnecessarily, 100 pounds was deducted from my deposit and it was not at all fair. It was informed to the landlord that the house was in a terrible shape. I was surprised by his comment when I talked to the landlord. Some of the staff at Ellis and Co. are extremely rude. I do not want to take names here since it would affect the career of that person. I had an impression that Ellis and Co. staff communicates wrong information to the landlord just for the sake of deducting some amount from the deposit. Overall extremely unsatisfactory and unprofessional service.

Thank you for taking the time to outline the issues you had with your tenancy. As a company, we offer three main levels of service, Let Only, Rent Collection and Fully Managed. As you can expect the levels of service are quite self-explanatory, however with a Let Only service, we are only responsible for sourcing tenants for the landlord, the landlord themselves would be liable for all aspects of the tenancy afterwards, ensuring that the property is in a satisfactory state during the tenancy, also to include all maintenance and the decision of any deductions from the deposit. As the agent, Ellis and Co would advise the tenant of the landlord’s decision, but it is not something that we can control. Nor do we keep any monies deducted from the deposit for repairs. All deposit deductions must be specified prior to deduction, and allocated accordingly. I can confirm that in the instance of your let, the property was managed by the landlord directly. Whilst we try to ensure that properties are let in a clean and proper state, we rely on the landlord to give us the property in the best possible condition and we are handcuffed in what action we can take. I note that your tenancy ended in 2013. I would like to highlight that the office was sold and put under new management in 2014. We have made great strides to improve the service levels offered across the board and believe that we have managed to meet and in most cases, exceed the levels of service required. I can only apologise for the service and experience you had with the previous regime, and hope that should you require the services of a local agent, you consider giving Ellis & Co Wembley Park an opportunity to change your opinion.
