We're proud to have been serving the Islington area for 10 years, offering a wide range of properties for sale and to rent, not only in Angel but also in Highbury, Clerkenwell, Stoke Newington and Kings Cross. Franchise owner Tariq Khalifa was born and bred in North London and has always been in involved in the property industry, with his father having owned a property sales, lettings and management agency in Central London when he was young. Tariq is a landlord, himself, so understands the implications of robust property management! He has worked in operations management for some blue chip brands as well as a sales and marketing director in the past. The team at Ellis and Co Islington have a wealth of experience in all aspects of property and customer service. You will find the knowledge and dedication unrivalled. Our main areas of business are residential sales, lettings and property management. We can also provide conveyancing and mortgage advice. The office is situated in Angel between Islington Green and Cross Street on Essex Road. GoogleWe let out our house out with Ellis and co for 4 years, before selling through them too. Tariq was always communicative, and we were really happy with the tenants they provided, and the support the team gave us. When it came to selling, Ellis and co were a good go-between. No complaints- the team are both trustworthy and competent. Would recommend!

GoogleMy family and I have been involved in the recent purchase of a property through Ellis & Co. It was a complex transaction with a raft of lease and legal complications. Without the professional input form Tariq and his team I don’t believe we would have satisfied the lenders/solicitors criteria and the sale would have fallen through. Excellent behind the scenes work and all round communication from Ellis & Co Islington. Thank you

GoogleI’ve been a tenant with Ellis & Co for four years, and unfortunately, my experience has been consistently disappointing. - Appointments are unreliable, more than once, they either didn’t show up or cancelled last minute. - Emails are rarely answered; I have to call nearly every time just to get a response. - They use the cheapest contractors, and the quality reflects that. One handyman even told me a proper oven/hob install wasn’t possible, I ended up fixing it myself. - The staff is often rude or misinformed when I speak to them, though I’ve heard they’re much more responsive to landlords. The only reason I’ve stayed is because I’m on great terms with my landlady, but if you have a choice, I’d strongly suggest looking for a different agency.

GoogleI did not have a good experience with this agency. Communication was not smooth and unluckily I experienced bad landlord, never as before in my renting life. They are using Section 21 to refurbish they said. I entered the flat and the electric shower was not working, cold water, no pressure. Cold water from the kitchen sink for 2/3 months as too old fixtures. I had a mice as well of course. I had to deal by my self with that. Be careful with your choice.

GoogleEllis & Co were able to sell my flat and push the sale through at the price I wanted and in a time period I wasn't sure would be achievable. Tariq in particular was amazing and efficient throughout the entire process. Flat sold at the right price and sold well within my timeframe. No complaints and easy people to deal with.

GoogleTenants who are dealing with Ellis and Co make sure you KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. Alongside a rather unscrupulous landlord they tried to take our whole deposit (initially 110% of it), treating it as if the money was theirs to take. Thankfully we had been warned by previous tenants and so used the deposit protection system and after some serious stress got it all back. I would really recommend any tenants dealing with them to be clear on what is and isn’t your responsibility. They tried to intimidate us but thankfully my partners a lawyer and had seen this kind of thing before. In a reply to the below - you worked on his behalf and were given full responsibility by him in all emails we saw. Registering with the independent deposit scheme is a legal requirement, not a kind gesture.
Thank you for your review. We were not managing this property merely passing on messages from your landlord. In fact we registered the deposit with a custodial scheme rather than the landlord holding the funds with insurance which was to your benefit.

GoogleCalled as soon as the property went onto the market to be told that the person dealing with this property was not in office and to email which I did.. twice! And no respons! And I called every day 3 days afterwards and had received the same response each time. I also left my name and number for someone to call me and again no one called me only to be told on day 4 that viewings had already been taken and won’t be accepting anymore. Absolutely rubbish customer service and won’t be dealing with these guys again.

GoogleArranged a short let with us that they evidently did not have the mandate for. Tried to get us to pay without the contract, then tried to give us a contract without any landlord terms, then tried to avoid using a tenancy deposit scheme (which is free), and then pulled out 5 days before we were due to move in because the landlord was ‘working with another agent and didn’t want a short let’. Effectively left us homeless. Avoid at all costs.

GoogleMy roommate and i, were searching for a flat in london. Due to the high demand, we were struggling to do soo. While searching on Zoopla i found a flat that suited us and called the agency immediately. Thankfully George T Ioannou answered the phone and tried to help us. Even though the first offer didn’t come through because the current tenants decided to stay in the property , he has gone above and beyond to find us the perfect place to stay that suited both our budget and our moving date. He was willing to do virtual tours while we were away while also in person viewings. He has helped us in every way possible and has done everything he could to meet our requirements
