The roads all around the estate have pot holes. This is a new housing development yet the roads outside the homes quite clearly need filling and sorting

Was considering purchasing a house on this estate and went to look at it. Was totally unimpressed. Houses were totally cramped together with very little space between. Got the impression that Persimmon were trying to build the maximum possible number of houses possible on the site. Even though some of the houses were detached, they were built so close to each other, they actually looked like terraces. Not for me, no thank you. Better new builds out there. Very close to motorway too.

If the saying “a fish rots from the head” applies anywhere, it’s here. From senior management down to contractors, we’ve experienced negligence, disrespect, and a complete lack of accountability. The Head of Customer Care for Yorkshire, Ian, whose team’s repeated failures contributed directly to a miscarriage I suffered, never once spoke to me, yet saw fit to label me “rude,” a “bully,” and a “liar” in writing. His email showed no empathy, no responsibility, just deflection and denial. Despite raising issue after issue, we’ve been ignored, lied to, and gaslit. Contractors failed to turn up on multiple pre-arranged visits, wasting our annual leave with no apology. Key works were missed entirely, then falsely marked as “complete.” On 11th July, several trades arrived to “fix” things, the results were poor, rushed, and in many cases made things worse. Among the most appalling incidents: • A contractor used our private bathroom without permission and left human faeces in the toilet. I was working from home at the time, and discovered it shortly afterward. When I reported this, I was basically told I must be lying, because Ian had “never heard of such a thing.” • Workers entered upstairs without overshoes, ignoring clear instructions. • Our dogs were nearly let out due to careless site behaviour. • We were promised a deep clean before move-in, but the home was filthy. We had to clean it ourselves for over a week. • Sharp nails were left on our driveway on multiple occasions, a clear safety hazard. • Contractors smoked in our garden, left rubbish and building waste, and repeatedly interrupted me during work hours, despite clear guidance. Worst of all, when we escalated these serious issues, including how it affected my health and pregnancy, Persimmon’s response was to accuse us of being a problem. No apology. No accountability. Just veiled threats that they’d withdraw support if we didn’t fall in line. Both Site Managers, Mark and Ryan, have demonstrated a complete lack of control over contractors, or worse, are simply unwilling to act. The repeated no-shows, poor workmanship, and absence of proper coordination feel like deliberate tactics to wear us down, so we give up and fix the remaining 170 issues ourselves. This has been one of the most stressful, traumatic experiences of our lives. If you value your mental wellbeing, your physical health, or your dignity as a customer, do not make the same mistake we did. Persimmon Homes has shown us what it truly means to be abandoned by those who promised “care” and delivered chaos.

If you are looking to buy a new build stay away from this company and particular project, apart from Susan who sold me my house, the customer aftercare is nothing short of disastrous!. Promise you the world, take your money and lie. I have been waiting for my drive to be tarmac’d like everybody else’s for months, whilst I was away from home working there was a leaflet drop apparently so I wasn’t aware and couldn’t move the car off the drive when all other drives on my street were tarmac’d. Persimmon have my number and know I work away for long periods. Repairs to a brand new house still not fixed, the list goes on. Don’t be fooled by the incentives to buy!!

First of all, I want to thank the fantastic staff I dealt with, David, Nakash and Bobbie, who they all very kind, quickly responsive, and provided advice and ongoing updates on the house progression. I want to share my experience. I have been a customer and reserved a house called Delamere. My free advice would be not to buy any house from Persimmons when they just released it. The price is likely to drop significantly by the time they finish construction. Here is my experience. I reserved the house by the end of March, and around the end of May, the price suddenly dropped by £5,000. Then they announced an NHS discount, which is £500 for each £25000 spent. In my house, it would be worth £6000 (they gave me just £4000 initially). In summary, I lost £7000, which I could have spent on buying fabulous furniture for the house. I asked if there was any way they could compensate or provide a voucher, or at least offer some upgrades, but unfortunately, nothing was delivered. It was a lesson for me, and I hope others will be careful with that.
