There were pretty major problems with our house when we moved in. The heating wasn't working at all in the first place, and then when they finally fixed it, the thermostats were controlling the wrong floors. Also the plumbing for the washing machine was non-functional. Everything got fixed and we even received an apology for the lack of scheduling of various visits(be it from the manager, the customer care team doesn't know the word sorry). We made it known how disappointing the experience was and the site team gave us a couple of nice extras as a gesture of good will which kept us pretty happy for a while. Then the site team disappeared and various outstanding snags took forever to deal with. Some are still not fixed, and I don't think they ever will. At this point we're just so fed up that we'll probably have to let it go. But it does get much worse. The Persimmon no longer has their site team in Littleport, but they do have subcontractors working on the roads. We had LOADS of issues with those. They block access to our property and don't provide any notice, instead they just knock on the door at 7am and tell us to move the car right in that moment. They break up concrete and do other extremely noisy activities with zero notice even though we did ask multiple times(we work from home, but could just go to the office if we were notified). We've had an overflowing skip full of rubbish outside of our house for two weeks now, and despite us raising it multiple times it will stay here over the Christmas period. The skip is on what maybe will be a green area one day, but has been a site compound for quite a while now, even though when we bought the house we were told it would be gone in September. Of course things get delayed all the time, but there is just zero proactive communication about it, and we now have zero trust in what is being told to us. Still, this is not the worst. We have a paved area in front of our house which is not gated because of the public right of way, but it is under our maintenance. The subcontractor drove their machinery over that area and damaged our paving. Persimmon told us verbally it would be fixed, but we have zero written record of it even though we asked for it multiple times. They will have to fix it, because we have plenty of photos with registration plates etc so there is no denying it is their fault, but I am not looking forward to fighting this battle. The estate is now full of reduced houses ready for immediate sale. They may be a reasonably good deal, but they do come with site work outside that is not managed well if at all, and nobody knows if the green area they are supposed to overlook will ever get landscaped. From what I have seen, I have doubts. Also, keep in mind that you might move in and not be able to turn the heating on. It wasn't a massive big deal for us, because we moved in August, but I wouldn't recommend chancing it in the winter.
