Ellis and Company in Finchley are great!

Ellis and Company in Finchley have managed a property for me for approximately eight years. I have been extremely satisfied with their service which I have found to be professional, responsive and thorough. As I live at a distance from the property I have appreciated the continuity of staff. Khalid, Nicki and Belinda have been there throughout. I have never been made to feel that because it’s only one property they care any the less than if I owned a large number. As the house was my family home for many decades it is very special to me and with the staff at Ellis and Co I feel we all work as a team. I am also confident that my tenants are carefully selected and receive a good service.

I had a mixed experience with Ellis and Co. I rented with them for a year. The flat was nicely redecorated before we moved in. The agent we dealt with was friendly, and most of the time when we had minor repairs or issues with the flat they were quick to send someone to fix it. I didn't get the feeling that they were out to rip us off, as is the case with a lot of letting agents. The reason they lose some stars is because of communication - when we had queries that were more complicated than a simple repair, our emails would often go unanswered, or only answered after a lot of chasing. This was quite frustrating at times. It took quite a few emails and about a month of time after I moved out to be told when my deposit would be returned (I eventually received it in full). Overall I think they are a decent letting agent, but if they improved communication and responsiveness they could be great.

(EDIT) The managing director called me to apologise for the miscommunication. He explained what went wrong and why. He was eager to solve the problem. Hopefully, things will progress better from here. Absolute joke of an estate agent. Called them to enquire about a possible house viewing. They say they will get call me back. Left my number for them several times but still no call back. Used their online forms. Nothing. Used their chat bot to log in details nothing. They said they have no idea what's going on with the property if it was under offer or not.

We have been looking for a suitable property to rent in Tonbridge for quite some time. We identified a property advertised by Ellis & Co. The team worked very professionally. We had and have an excellent experience. In particular, we should like to highlight Mr Adam Lim in respect of his excellent communication skills, good understanding of our needs, excellence in identifying properties that might suit our needs, punctuality in all booked appointments, accessibility on the phone, and his quick replies to our e-mails. Once we had chosen the property, Mr Lim helped us through the entire process in a fast and easy way with rapid responses to questions, queries and/or concerns. Besides, his assistance is highly valued in respect of other issues related to the property e.g. alarm installation and painting.
