GoogleWe brought our house through charters in Alton and i would highly recommend them. We dealt with Hayley and she was absolutely amazing. Any questions or queries we had she was there to answer and offer advise. Hayley made what I normally find a stressful process stress free which i really appreciate. If you are looking to sell or buy I would highly recommend going to see her.

GoogleWe found Sarah, Jonathan, Hayley and the rest of the team at Charters Alton to be the right blend of 'personable' and 'sell'. They are responsive, professional, and when we lost our buyer through circumstances out of our control, were quick to find us another one. Would definitely recommend.

GoogleCharters (and especially Hayley and Jonathan) have been really great. We're only at the beginning of the process of buying our first home but they've been very helpful and communicative. Hayley was very personable and we really enjoyed viewing houses with her. Highly recommend them!

GoogleIf there were more than 5 stars then we would give it!! Hayley has just confounded the very slow housing market by selling our house. Never give up because Charters certainly don't!! The whole office has been superb right from the beginning and we would have no hesitation in fully recommending them.

GoogleSarah at Charters Alresford was a really helpful, friendly and professional estate agent. She did not push us with our decision making or hassle us for feedback, as we experienced with other estate agents during the house buying process. As first time-buyers, we found her very knowledgeable and efficient at answering our questions. Charters Alresford were always available to speak to on the phone and everyone we encountered there gave us a highly personable and professional service. They honoured our requests when we put our offer forward and have been quick to process our purchase so far.

GoogleWhilst we are at the early stages of our house purchase, I am impressed with the service that we have received so far. We have always received a prompt response which is much appreciated when arranging viewings or negotiating a sale. They were generally knowledgeable about the properties we viewed or will endeavour to find out if they do not know the answer to your question. When talking on the phone I always get the impression that they are happy to talk as long as you need which I really appreciate. Overall we have had a very good experience :)

GoogleCharters has been great throughout my long hunt for a home to buy. Liz was wonderful and tried very hard to find me the right house. This took a long time, so I decided to rent through them. Unfortunately my experience as a tenant was very disappointing. Charters very much acts in favour of the landlord and there were several things that were not disclosed to me about the property before I rented it. I could have overlooked these things despite the huge inconvenience and expense they caused, however, at the end of my tenancy Charters informed me that they would be acting for the landlord in an attempt to retain some of my deposit! There was no justifiable reason for any of my deposit to be retained and the landlord should have compensated me for the inconvenience of the situation throughout my tenancy anyway. Thankfully I bought my house through another estate agent in the end.
Dear Sian, We are sorry to learn that you were unhappy with the service received from Charters Lettings after such a positive experience with our sales department. Having reviewed our notes I can see that you experienced a few minor maintenance issues during your tenancy that were dealt with very promptly but it appears that your main complaint was surrounding the return of your deposit. As per legislative requirements we register all deposits with a government approved scheme and handle the return of all deposits in accordance with their guidelines. We are unable to return any monies without both parties consent which protects tenants from unjustified claims. In this instance your landlord requested a small deduction which we informed you of and you did not agree too. You have the opportunity for this to go to independent arbitration via the deposit scheme but have not raised a dispute and we continue to hold these funds safely for you until a decision can be reached. I am sorry again that this has left you viewing Charters lettings negatively but we hope that you will be very happy in your new home.
