Charters are very proactive in relation to getting buyers through your door and getting a good price for your property. However once they secured a sale they apeared to wash their hands of the transaction. I bought a new build and had something called "Express Movers" to act as an intermediary between the agents, developers and the mortgage company' Trying to communicate with my buyers was impossible and any request I made for messages to be passed to my buyers was either ignored or met with, and I quote; "As you are aware the New Homes Group do the direct sales chasing" this was from Jo Goodard the Sales Negotiator. It would seem then they were paid £4650 for showing six or seven potential buyers and that was about it. They didn't chase my buyers or facilitate any interaction. They didn't even send an email to confirm the Sale, Thank me for their payment, or even read the meters. If you want to an agent to find you a buyer quickly I can't recommend them highly enough. If you want you poor service, your emails ignored, a sense of apathy and complacency from your your agent so they can sit back and wait for their fees after that point they're very good at that too.

Dear Mr Palmer, after looking through the records here, it would seem that your dissatisfaction should be expressed towards The New Homes Group. As soon as you purhcased a home through them, they made it absolutely clear that we were not allowed to make contact with you. This was relayed to you at the time. The poor communication following this purchase was not at the hands of our sales progression team, we were merely following the guidance given to us by The New Homes Group.

We live away from the property, so asked to find a tenant as well as manage it. It took months to find the new tenant, and the surprisingly electric bill we got for the empty period of the property, was more than double compered to when someone was living there. We made enquire about it, but they did not want to do anything about it and start telling me if we visited and used it, of cause not! also inventory Clark from Charters made numerous mistakes, she did not notice the net curtains were missing, that had been taken by previous tenant, miscount the number of keys, and so on. so please be careful to dealt with them.

Dear Kevin, apologies for the very long delay in responding, we have only just come onto Trustpilot as we typically direct customers towards Feefo (the same as Trustpilot but another business) and Google reviews for guidance. With reference to your comments, we don't leave boards lying anywhere - we have board companies who put these up for us and take them down. They are too expensive to disregard each time. The board you are referring to may have fallen down in bad weather, been vandalised or removed without permission.

About 2 months ago I applied for a house to rent in Alton. At the same time, I gave my information for the mortgage. They didn't say anything positive or negative. they just ignored it. totally disrespectful. Even the questions I asked about the heating status of the house I went to rent and the barracks could not be answered properly. They just said they didn't know and delayed it. I have experienced that they are completely uninterested and unserious.

We're in the process of buying a house in Winchester having previously rented a property from Charters (see lettings review below), and dealing with their Sales team has been just as wonderfully straightforward as dealing with their Lettings team was. A huge and well-deserved shout-out goes to Jonny Gray, who from the beginning was so flexible and helpful (and so friendly!) organising viewings at such short notice for us. We had to take our rather lively 3 year old to all viewings and Jonny was so accommodating and tolerant and made the experience so easy for us. Our young daughter still references "that nice man from the new house!" The reason we were able to progress so quickly with our offer was solely down to Jonny, and now we're about to exchange contracts this week! Most recently we've been dealing with the Sales progression team and Jo Goddard is a total superstar with second-to-none communication skills and levels of efficiency I haven't seen before in all my working years. Charters are incredible and the best there is.
Charters Lettings Team
My experience with Charters Winchester has been exceptional, to say the least. Leaving London after 12 years is daunting, but when I first registered with the Charters Lettings team Kathryn called me and thoroughly went through all our requirements and I immediately knew that she really understood what we were looking for. That was confirmed the next day when she sent me a brochure for a property that wasn't live yet but soon would be. The property was perfect and ticked all our boxes. I was able to view it the following week and Gary who showed me around was wonderful! Pleased to say we now have our move-in date! (Gary even sent me a friendly WhatsApp on Easter Sunday to let me know our offer had been accepted). The administrative process for reference checks etc has been the most pain-free and easy - far more so than any of our rental experiences in London. Once our tenancy agreement has come to an end we'll be buying a house in Winchester and will come straight to Charters for that - their property portfolio looks so impressive!PositiveResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism
