We were introduced to a landlord via Leaders that accepted our offer to rent their property and happily took our holding deposit to secure the house. Unbeknown to us the same landlord listed their property with multiple agents, 6 days before we were supposed to move in they accepted a higher offer. Thank you Leaders!

We always want to deliver the highest level of service to our customers and it’s a shame that you feel we haven’t been able to do this for you. I’ve had the opportunity to speak with David Lewis the Branch Manager about your comments, he has mentioned that you were undertaking an application for a property and were referenced as per our standard process, sadly while processing your application the Landlord decided they didn’t wish to proceed with your application any further and instead began to market their property with another agent Mann and Co. We can appreciate why you’d be disappointed due to your move falling through so close to the scheduled start date of the tenancy but feel it important to highlight that all tenancies are subject to contract and receipt of satisfactory references so there would have been no guarantee the tenancy would go ahead until the tenancy agreement had been signed by both parties. It’s discouraging for us that the team at Forest Hill have received this review and low star rating as feel the circumstances around the let falling through had been beyond their control, we can only offer our apologies for any disappointment that’s been caused because of this and hope the above helps provide some clarity. GoogleMy partner and I had a great experience finding a flat with Leaders Estate Agents Forest Hill. James, who was our letting agent, had a professional and friendly manner. He communicated honestly with us from the start, responded to emails promptly, and was efficient at chasing up progress on the works due to be done on the flat prior to our move. All the relevant and legal paperwork was sent and easily completed.
TrustPilot reviews for Leaders UK in general are quite worrying, but I can confirm that the service we received from the Forest Hill branch was excellent and the staff courteous. Thanks James!
EDIT (6 months after moving in): While we had a great experience with James finding our flat, our experience with the allocated Property Manager has not been as satisfactory - quite disappointing actually. Not much proactivity shown in solving emerging issues with our flat. Poor communication: our emails being ignored for days, us having to chase queries up by email, or by calling over a number of months about overdue reimbursement (often to be told someone will call us back, which never happened). We have had to go to the office in person twice to speak to a manager and finally resolve a situation. We rented the flat fully aware that it needed work but was deemed perfectly safe by the council. However when issues quickly escalated shortly after us moving in, the situation was often lazily handled by our property manager. We have a more reactive, helpful relationship with our landlord, which is a shame since Leaders is supposed to be the middle man. (This knocks down 2 out of our initial 5 stars)
