GoogleA truly awful experience with this company when I had to into rented accommodation as he result of a divorce. Had to deal with that ghastly man Norman Mead who was of no use whatsoever. When I inherited the family portfolio of properties the total commission gathered by the instructed agent was £23500 money lost to Leaders who, need to remember that today's tenant may be tomorrow's property owner. GoogleTerrible. Should avoid. Poor attitudes and lots of lies from Ross. Even the manager Scott tried to avoid our questions. Alex seemed to be helpful at the beginning but full of excuses once contract signed. A few things need to be fixed but the property managers kept saying "waiting for landlord to confirm" for more than a month. I act as guarantor for a friend's family moving from overseas to St Albans. My credit check was completed, my friend's family IDs' and passports checked via internet call. We were told the "Right to Rent" checks were completed. Contract signed with 1 year's rent paid upfront in mid December for tenancy to start on 22 Jan 2021. Since the contract was signed before Christmas , we had been promised I could pick up the keys on behalf of my friend (with consent of course) so I could help them to arrange the move and furniture, etc... before they arrived in end Feb. Alex made an appointment for me to pick up the keys on 23/1 Sat 10.30am. Only on 22/1 Friday 4pm, Alex called and said they could not release the keys to me. First said worried that I would sub-let it. I explained I would not as I would breach the contract if I did as I am a party on the contract too. Then said it was "illegal" to release the keys to me. Finally, said the "Right to Rent" would not be completed until they saw my friend's family in person with their passports. Which I found no such requirements on government's "Right to Rent" guidelines at all. If they were not satisfied with the "Right to Rent" check at the first place, they should not have signed the contract, started the tenancy and took 1 year's rent in advance. GoogleAfter having experienced many Lettings agencies who either did not have the patience or responsiveness required, the estate agents from leaders were a refreshing change. From their dedication and empathy to their quick responses and thoroughness; there was not a thing I could fault them on. They went above and beyond to ensure I got the property I wanted within an impossibly short amount of time. They did not give up even when we kept on running into complications with finding appropriate guarantors. It's not easy to rent a house in St Albans, the market is hot. Leaders give a professional friendly service and gently helped me through the process. The primary Leaders contact was Natasha who was always helpful and responsive and if she wasn't in the office Shaun was fully briefed to deal with our queries. Whilst somewhat skeptical at first we also used the Leaders inhouse mortgage broker the final offer was far better than my daughters own bank and we proceeded to accept.
