I can honestly say that Vinnay is the best estate agent I’ve ever worked with. He supported me through every single detail of the transaction and made the whole process feel smooth and stress-free. I felt completely comfortable and confident with the service he provided from start to finish. The level of care and effort he puts in is outstanding, not just for the seller, but also when dealing with solicitors and buyers. He goes above and beyond to make sure everything is handled properly. He even used his contacts to help me find a rental property, which I truly appreciated. I wouldn’t even give them 1 star - if you have a flat to sell I would avoid this branch and estate agent in general. The service provided was very poor, Mark showed no initiative or interest in selling my property after taking it on. He didn’t follow up properly to inquiries and the only viewing I had in 5 months he was unable to do so I had to do it myself.

Don’t use this firm to sell your house as they treat potential buyers like garbage which means it’ll take longer to sell your house. And if you’re buying avoid these time wasters. Apparently they don’t want to make commission. It’s run by a bunch of unprofessionals with poor communication. We confirmed to come in for a viewing three times over the phone, once with Alicia the day before and twice with Neil on the day who gave us the green light to attend. On arrival a man claimed we didn’t have an appointment and that we needed email confirmation which Alicia or Neil didn’t send. Instead of being apologetic towards us for their mistake he was very rude and abrupt and told us to just stay in the dining room and not move as he was dealing with someone else. So we waited which was taking forever, my mother is elderly and unwell so i apologised and said i’m pushed for time i’m going to have a look at the garden. To which the man snapped saying no you don’t have an appointment. Well it all kicked off from there, we questioned his rudeness and he told us to get out like it was an episode of eastenders with peggy mitchell throwing us out the pub. It was uncouth to say the least. But if that’s how he wanted to behave we gave just as good. We called the firm and spoke to Neil about what had happened and Neil doubled down about us not having an email as if he himself didn’t tell us to go earlier in the day. Absolutely insane behaviour. He said he’d investigate, called back to reiterate the same thing without an apology at all. We asked if he spoke to Alicia and he said no. Great investigation work there Neil 🙄 Turns out the man was the owner Khalid Ghani. Sounds like he’s gotten a little too big for his boots and forgot humility. No wonder Neil was useless in doing anything since it’s his boss and Khalid can’t seem to call out his staff for making an error. I got the distinct impression he was not a fan of my flavour of asian and my being a woman, hence the racist sexist attitude.

Despite being responsible, communicative tenants who looked after the property and even made improvements at our own cost using the agent’s approved contractors, our experience with Ellis & Co was very poor. Throughout the tenancy, communication was frequently slow and issues that directly affected us were not handled well. Most notably, after reporting a broken oven in December, we were left without one for several weeks. Even the maintenance team acknowledged and apologised for the delay, explaining it was due to the landlord attempting to avoid the cost of replacement. These issues were compounded at the end of the tenancy. We experienced prolonged delays, lack of communication and unprofessional behaviour during the checkout and deposit process. Our deposit was not handled within the timeframe set out in our tenancy agreement and deductions were raised late and without clear explanation, despite a positive checkout report confirming the property, including the garden, was well maintained. A formal complaint was sent to the Managing Director and was ignored entirely, leaving us no option but to escalate the matter externally. Tenants should not have to chase repeatedly for basic updates or be left in limbo after vacating a property. The experience was stressful, disappointing and fell well below the standard expected from a professional letting agent. I would strongly caution others to think carefully before renting through this agency.

Ellis and Co handled our house sale, and the level of service we received was amazing. From coming out to value the property within days of enquiring, through to managing the viewings and offer process, everything was handled quickly and professionally. The virtual tour they provided was excellent, it meant we didn’t have to move everything or vacate the house, and it could be done around our schedule. This made a huge difference when managing the whole process with two toddlers to contend with! We received an offer after just two viewings, and Lynne was in contact almost every day with updates on how the sale was progressing. I’ve already recommended Ellis and Co to multiple people and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again in the future.
