We received a very professional service from Kirstie Stone, Farnham Lettings. As a first time landlord all my queries and were listened to and answered and the letting process fully explained. Kirstie worked hard to find us the right 'fit' for our tenants. Great communication from the outset. A smooth, efficient and friendly process and service.

If only all estate agents were like this! Charters Southampton provided an excellent client experience from the initial appraisal meeting to the property sale. The marketing is top notch and even under the difficult market conditions, Charters managed to arrange numerous viewings. The whole team seem very helpful and professional but I particularly appreciated the frequent communication from Simon Edser and Kevin Ashley (many thanks chaps!). I was never kept in dark, being regularly updated, even if these was no news. For me, communication is key and Charters had this just right. I have no hesitation in recommending these estate agents

GoogleDisorganised liars. Lured us to the market with the promise of lots of interest and completely overvalued our house. Terrible photos of the property. After house viewings we had to chase them for feedback and would not hear anything for days. Charters would call to say a viewing had been cancelled which we weren’t aware of in the first place, and then suggest we were to blame. Very disappointed with our service from Charters and would not use again.

GoogleAbsolutely dreadful company to rent from. If I could give them zero stars I would. I would not recommend this estate agent to anyone if you are renting. Our problems started from the day we moved in when we realised there was no working electric meter. We contacted charters about this and they didn't want to know about it so we spent months resolving this issue and getting a new meter. It cost us a lot of money in inaccurate estimated meter readings also. When roofing works were carried out on our property, they allowed the roofers to use our car port as apparently the landlord had agreed to this. Nice or him to let us know. We were told when we complained we would get compensated for this which surprise surprise, we did not. We had an issue with an internal leak in our property which went on for months and again cost us a fortune in water bills. We also had an issue with a shower not draining which they took months to fix. To top it all off, the tried to increase our rent which we attempted to negotiate and we were issued a section 21 notice because of this. We were great tenants, paid rent on time every month and kept the property spotless. They are now trying to deduct almost 300 pounds from our deposit for cleaning when we spent 3 hours cleaning the place before we left. Avoid these cowboys. Edit: I see you have responded to my review saying I made "aggressive phone calls". At no point was I aggressive to any members of your team. You may be confusing assertiveness for being aggressive. This is a defamatory comment.
Dear Anand, we are sorry to hear that you feel you received a poor service from Charters. As managing agent we can only ever follow our landlord clients instructions which is exactly what we did throughout your tenancy. We also have to follow our landlords instructions regarding returning your deposit alongside following the scheme rules. I can see that despite some very aggressive phone calls from you, our team have tried their best to liaise with you and get this resolved in a very short space of time as your tenancy only ended a couple of days ago. If we can’t reach an agreement between you and the landlord then as explained it can go to an independent arbitrator for review. For a 2-bedroom house, 3 hours cleaning really isn’t very much at the end of a tenancy which probably explains why a multitude of cleaning discrepancies have been highlighted on your check out report.

Have no doubt Charters estate agents Winchester are truly a wonderful company to do business with. They deal with multi million pound House sales daily, my purchase was very small indeed by comparison. Nonetheless I was treated to no less than a perfect sales team. From start to finish they were polite, courteous and kept me well informed as to the progress of my house purchase. The purchase was completed in record time and in my view Charters went above and beyond what I would have expected for the size and value of what is now my property with time to spare for Christmas. All the staff were unbelievably helpful, and though I do not like to single out individuals I have to mention Jo Goddard and Allison who worked extremely hard to complete the sale in rapid time. I can't name all but thanks to all the team for for working so hard.Should I ever sell on, Charters will absolutely definitely handle the sale. Great job well done.Many thanks from Glen.

Simon and the team at Charters Southampton made everything very easy whilst buying a property through them. We'd looked at several houses before finding 'the one', and each time, the team were helpful, and very knowledgeable about the properties. After having our offer accepted, again the team were really supportive and helped us view the property again on a few occasions. They also helped ensure the process was exceptionally quick leading to an exchange in around 4 weeks.... I would have no hesitation in using them again in the future.

We had been trying to sell my mothers house in Southampton for nearly two years. As we lived outside the county we tried three of the national agents without success. We subsequently went onto "Find an Agent" after seeing it on TV. Charters was one of the companies recommended. When I first met Phil from the So'ton branch he inspired confidence through his knowledge and enthusiastic manner. Although the sales fee was more expensive than others, I think it was value for money. The team in Southampton worked hard from the start. They only required a six week contract and were confident that they could get sensible viewings. They were true to their word and as a consequence we had a high number viewings during the first four weeks culminating with an agreed sale. My only regret is that I did not go to Phil and his Southampton colleagues first. I believe that they delivered great value for money and would highly recommend them.

GoogleAvoid these people at all cost, our family has been on property for 3 month now. We have 2 small children and nothing gets repaired, the shower doesn't work properly the washing machine is draining into buckets among several other issues that affect our daily life unfortunately we still have 9 more month to go.
Thank you for taking the time in speaking to us today. We understand your frustration that maintenance remains outstanding at your property. The Landlord who owns the property and is the other party in your tenancy agreement has been quite clear in their instructions that they do not want to proceed with any maintenance at the property. We are unable to override this request and do have to follow their instruction. It has now been outlined to them that you two of the issues including the washing machine are your main concerns. We have already reached out to your landlord and awaiting their reply on how they wish to proceed in addressing these two main maintenance issues. We will of course reach out and provide you with the update as soon as this is received. I understand that you have been provided with direct contract information for our Director of Property Management should you ever feel that you are not getting the responses you require.

The fee was higher than some other agents we considered but the added value from the Sales progression team was impressive and worth the fee paid.Very professional service but also very friendly, helpful and caring. An extra special thanks to Andy, the Manager, Nathan in Sales, Stephen in Sales Progression and Jasper in Valuations. Stephen Henry is an absolute credit to Charters and was phoning me daily to provide me an update around the time we exchanged contracts which was so helpful.
