GoogleAs a first time buyer it was nice to be able to work with a team of people who have an abundance of knowledge in the industry and can put you on the right track. This process can get long, complicated and stressful but thankfully Doug (sales progressor) was always happy to answer questions and chase up any issues as they arose. If you are buying around Stortford it is definitely worth at least having a chat with them to see what they can offer you.

GoogleThere are several people I would like to thank for the support they have given both me and my partner. Jade from the Harlow office as well as Alex and Rosie from the Dunmow office, have all been incredibly helpful. Without going into too much detail, we experienced significant issues with the property we were moving out of due to complications with our landlord. Intercounty helped us secure a new home quickly with everything arranged within a couple of weeks and they even assisted us with obtaining a reference from our previous landlord. Alex, in particular, was incredibly understanding. When I came into the office visibly stressed, he took the time - despite his busy schedule, to go through every issue we were facing. A few days after we moved in, he even followed up with an email outlining all the information we needed regarding our rights as tenants when dealing with our previous landlord. Thank you again.

GoogleWe have just bought our first house with Intercounty and we cannot fault their service. Grace was amazing when we first started viewing houses, very knowledgable and keen to help us. Jake was great when we viewed our house, giving us lots of information but not pushy or overbearing like we have found some other estate agents from different companies. We were then referred to Hayley as our sales progressor and she has been brilliant. As first time buyers, we had lots of questions and she always got back to us in a timely manner and nothing felt too silly to ask. Hayley was aware of all the updates and ensured to chase solicitors when needed so that actions were in place swiftly She was great at communicating between us and the sellers, meaning that the process was smooth and able to take place quickly which we all wanted. Intercounty have been great and we cannot fault them!

GoogleA COMPLETE DISASTER IN EVERY WAY I am writing to share my experience with this estate agency, Intercounty Bishops Stortford, and it has been nothing short of disastrous. From the very beginning, the agency proved to be extremely disorganized. The staff showed no communication among themselves, leaving us constantly bombarded with irrelevant emails that had nothing to do with our tenancy. On top of that, their attitude was consistently condescending. Whenever we requested information, the responses we received carried an air of superiority. I genuinely felt that, because we are Spanish, we were treated with less respect than British clients. This behavior was not only unprofessional but also deeply offensive. The worst part came at the end of the tenancy. We left the flat in immaculate condition, spotless, tidy, and perfectly maintained. Despite this, the agency withheld a significant portion of our deposit. They claimed £446 for cleaning and an additional £110 for carpet cleaning, charges that were completely manufactured since the property was already in pristine condition. When we challenged this, their only response was to suggest we open a dispute with Mydeposit, knowing full well that this would only drag the process out and cause further frustration. To conclude, I strongly advise: DO NOT RENT FROM THIS AGENCY if you value your deposit, your time, and being treated with basic respect. Their arrogance, lack of professionalism, and dishonest practices make them an agency to avoid at all costs. Damage deposits are the tenants money until an agreement is reached with all parties to release the funds. The mediation from MyDeposits is in place to ensure these matters are dealt with fairly & where landlords are requesting unfair amounts, they are not awarded. Please be assured we act in a professional and transparent manner at all times. If you are unable to come to an agreement with your landlord, the MyDeposits adjudication service would have been the best way to try to get your monies returned. Only the disputed amount is held whilst the dispute takes place, so the remainder would have been released, whilst the investigation was carried out. GoogleWe loved Intercounty - even though we could not go through with the purchase they were always giving us time to actually look at the property (rather than bend our ear with incessant sales talk), plus we were always at the property for around half an hour (sometimes more!) each time. Abby, especially with your diplomatic chasing - we never felt pressured but appreciated things that were time sensitive, and it was also always done really kindly! Really impressed and we know we will not hesitate to contact Intercounty in the future and will actively look for properties through you.

Possibly the worst estate agent in the UK? Very disappointing experience. I viewed a property over two months ago and never heard anything back. Property is still available at the time of writing. Numerous phone calls weren’t returned, emails were ignored, and there was zero follow-up. Instead of simply letting me know the property was no longer available or I don’t qualify or anything to at least keep me up to date. I was left waiting with no communication at all. Unfortunately, it ended up being a complete waste of my time. And my family are still without accommodation. I’m specifically calling out the agent HM For the pitiful service/ lack of it towards me.
