Recently sold my property with Reeds Rains Penwortham. I know I am a high maintenance customer and put pressure on them to sell my house quickly as I had found one I wanted to buy. Rachel and her team really pulled out all the stops, there were 4 properties for sale at the same time on my street all with different agents and I felt the professional photos really made a difference, they carried out an open house which subsequently sold the property for asking price. Once the sale was agreed they kept me informed every couple of days. I couldn't recommend Rachel and her team enough.

My experience with the Durham branch was faultless, I was obviously very anxious as this was my first purchase but I would go as far to say that Gemma, Claire, Lauren x2, Jen and the Julie literally held my hand throughout the whole process. Staff are great from the start, very informative, they keep you up to date along the way evening making contact if there isn't really anything to report but at least it lets you know they haven't forgot about your property unlike some other estate agents. They give you their honest opinion regarding the sale of your house. The staff are extremely welcoming when you visit their office and nothing is to much hassle for them and they will help you out in anyway they can. Special shout out to Gem who is fantastic and goes out of her way to make things as smoothly as possible. We also used Christine for our mortgage and again this women never stops working always keeping on top of where your sale/purchase is at. Going out of her way to contact anybody involved if needs be. Getting us the best deal for our mortgage and much better than the numerous banks/building society's we went to direct. Although I have only mentioned Gem and Christine by name the whole staff within the Durham Office are great and are quite happy just to have a chat with you about things in general and do not make you feel like they want you out of the office. I would highly recommend using Reeds Rains and their mortgage arranging facility.

Bought a house recently using Reed Rains Durham Office. Gemma was the lead contact and couldn't have been more helpful, both in terms of identifying suitable properties and keeping me updated with developments and chasing up my (frankly useless) solicitors. When not available I found Lauren to be equally to the task. It was very reassuring to know that the systems they use ensured that my details and progress with my purchase could be easily accessed by other staff members and they obviously speak to each other regularly as they knew what was going on. I found the whole service fast efficient and friendly and they were of great help and reassurance throughout.

LAZY INCOMPETENT IDIOTS!Spent 6 weeks trying to view 6 properties with the plan of purchasing 2 at the same time.They obviously thought i was joking as they didn't manage to arrange one viewing in 6 weeks. Rang James from the Chesterfield road, Sheffield branch 6 weeks in a row before giving up. James is a useless waste of oxygen full of false promises, Good at sounding busy but is really doing nothing to help you. Some of these properties have been on the market for a year and a half and are still on the market today. God help you if you have reedrains trying to sell your house for you. They turn away cash buyers and don't even let people view the house.

Reeds the small print or they will reign in your profits

We had our house up for sale with Reeds Rains who over valued it to get our business. A few weeks later they persuaded us that they could manage our property and it would be hassle free. They claimed they had people lined up for vacant properties and they could get us £700 a month. This was a myth and we eventually found a tenant ourselves and allowed RR to manage her. First off we were presented with a bill for selling as we had voluntarily taken the house off the market. The bill was the full sales cost. Then they proceeded to hit both us and the tenant with with surprise charges all throughout the tenancy. My partner was often distressed as they helped themselves to big chunks of the rental income and we rarely saw the full months rent. We could not make a profit and have had to put the house on the market once our tenant left because the government made changes to buy to let mortgages and council tax exemptions. Going with RR was a massive error and we felt we could never trust them.

Absolutely avoid at all costs! They will try to rinse you for every penny! They were our agents when we rented a property for nearly 4 years, throughout the tenancy they were shocking, didn't carry out inspections on time, sometimes didn't even show up, never dealt with issues we raised with them. Good job that we actually new our landlord to sort things for us that was the agents job! And nearly 3 weeks since we left the property and we have still not received our deposit! I'm not holding my breath, but constantly chasing for this everyday. Will not be recommending this agent and shall definitely not be using them again.

I used the Dartford branch of Reeds Rains when I found a property that I was really interested in renting. I phoned up and got a viewing with the landlord that same day and the place was totally perfect. Went back to the branch and from there on Tony took up my application and he explained everything, the fees are very reasonable and Tony was fantastic with his communication informing me about everything every step of the way. Between him and Lea they went out of their way to pull out all of the stops and finally I managed to secure the home of my dreams. They are the nicest,Most helpful people I have ever met. I highly recommend them and if you want to let or buy a property in the Dartford area then Reeds Rains in Dartford should be your first port of call! Just ask for Tony or Lea and you can’t go wrong!!!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I had an offer accepted on the proviso that the house was off the market. Spent the week organising solicitors and final mortgage and was to go in on Friday with ID. They continued to show it the following week (didnt inform me of this) and as I was about to go in with ID told me they had another offer. Played offers off against one a other to increase the price then sold it to other buyer. When I asked for an explanation they said other offer was from someone who viewed it before me. Found out this was a lie. The explanation then changed to 'property does not come off the market until ID check'. I was never told this. If I had been told when offer accepted would have been there Monday morning. Convenient that this information was 'miscoumunicated' and they ended up with a higher price. Buying/selling your house is stressful enough without dealing with people like this.

Incompetent and ignorant

Incompetent and ignorant. I have been waiting 3.5 weeks for an update regarding the return of my deposit, I have had to chase for updates, despite the agents being very communicative in the first instance. I moved out 3.5 weeks ago and I have not heard anything. The lady that carried out my check out was posting videos and images on her own personal social media account of my apartment, the height of unprofessional. I asked for a call from a manager 3 weeks ago regarding this and have not heard anything! I also raised concerns about a suspected leak half way through my tenancy, but never heard anything back so I'm presuming the landlord was never told. As a landlord, take your business elsewhere if you want to ensure your property is looked after and cared for by the acting agents.
