My partner and I have bought a Gosford on the Featherstone site, the only show room close to us is the Newton Grange site so I went with my partner and my mum a couple of weeks back to show her and get some measurements. When I tried booking in again for final measurements and to take my dad, I was questioned by the sales woman why I needed to book in again when I’d been 3 times already (once was to view before buying, the other time was my partner showing his parents for their opinions and the 3rd time was so I could measure up and show my mum) the Featherstone site make you feel so welcome and are dog friendly! I actually cancelled the appointment out with Newton Grange the minute I got back to the car as I didn’t feel I could go again. Rude and unprofessional.

NONE EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY NEVER CALL YOU BACK WHEN YOU HAVE ISSUES. THEY NEVER COMPLETE WORK THEY SAY THEY WILL. IGNORE THE PLANS THEY GIVE YOU WHEN BUYING BECAUSE THEY WILL NEVER HAPPEN. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND BUY ELSEWHERE, UNLESS YOU ENJOY STRESS AND LIES

I’ve never witnessed a builder cash in so much on the recent houses boom. We wanted to move to this estate but they expected us to jump through hoops and call them literally everyday in hope they’d release a property for sale on the day we called. No option to reserve or show any interest even though we had sold our home. More importantly I’m absolutely stunned at the price increase I’ve seen in the last 18 months on this development since we first viewed their show homes and decided we wanted a property on this estate…….., literally £100k increase on all of their 3 bedroom homes……. Due to the price of materials they claimed ! It’s nice to now see their over priced homes unsold - more so as we hit a new economical crisis. Glad we steered clear and purchased our home from wainhomes. We saved £70k, gained a 4th bedroom and a detached garage. I’ll be sitting smug as I watch you reduce the over inflated prices.

Car parking spaces enclosed with brickwork that are so tight that your can't open your doors in a standard sized car once parked. Plastic panelling that has already started to fade yellow in the sun and bodgejobs behind every access panel or compartmenin the house. Get your house surveyed by a snagger before you exchange contract.

Janet and the Downsland team have been great. They put up with our angst with buyers falling through for 6 months and still managed to get us in before Christmas. The quality of our house is brilliant and we are very happy here :)

My family have bought a few new builds across Scotland and by far the treatment at Taylor Wimpey was the worst. We had advised of our plans to purchases two houses at TW calderwood (brother and I). In between the release of two houses of same style, TW increased prices by over £18k. They said this was due to market conditions. Originally it was suggested typical increases are £5k. Originally the lag between both releases was to be 1 month however TW made it around 5. Reason for this was given by head office as a change in policy where TW said they have decided to reduce the time between reserving a plot and handing over the keys from 8 months to 6 months. They used this to justify the massive pricing jump and said market pricing has changed. Both houses will be ready at the same time. To me - they realised our position and took advantage. They knew we were desperate for 2 houses near each other for our elderly parents to be able to live in either and travel to other (parents were to stay with us) Based on this we wouldn't have bought the first TW house if we had known this. I wouldn't ever buy another TW house - they will say anything to sell the house and change minds later. I do worry what is to come down the line.

I have seen the show homes , only have this thought after this that poor quality and overpriced!! They match the price with DWH and even Cala , but such a shame that they match only the price and not quality.
