GoogleI have been with FJLord since in Shad Thames for 4 years. I was originally with the leading agent in the area but they took too long to rent the property and with sub standard tenants. Moving to FJLord was brilliant, Rasa and Monika in Shad …

Google+ they tried to smuggle hidden points to the contract upon renewal - when confroncted they justified it by "automatic every year adjustments to adhere to currrent law and standards" - this is how you call new fees ;)
+ asked 4 different times for account to return deposit to, just to prolong the process even though we send them one with notice letter,
+ been nearly 6 weeks and not even fraction of the deoposit is returned (landlord asked for around 600 deductions, but after the deadline she had) Non disputed part not returned. We had to raise dispute ourserlves with TDS just to have some hope to force them to return our money back.

GoogleProbably unfair to single out this office for a damning review, in my experience the entire organisation is one of the most shoddy, unprofessional two bit businesses I’ve ever had to deal with. They don’t care, they don’t return calls, they don’t do anything they say they will do. The one thing they do is treat you with utter contempt.
I can’t really describe how much I hate them. I’ve been trying to get some general and very basic maintenance work done since April. It’s now December and I’m still chasing them regularly.
Monkeys would be more capable, not even trained monkeys. Just normal ones.
I hate you felicity, I really do.

GoogleI takes on average 932 emails and 82 calls to sort whatever. Pray to whomever you believe that nothing breaks in your property. The fancy "House Maintenance Service" isn't as fancy after all, as I need to wait for over 3 weeks to fix the dishwasher.
Overall, I bet they manage too many properties, and don't put enough effort to keep the level of service on the high level after you sign the papers. By "not enough effort" I mean they don't give a f**k about you.
If they have the most amazing place that fits your budget and location preferences, go for it. Other ways, look for a different Property Manager.

GoogleI am constantly being spammed by Felicity J Lord, no matter how many times I write to them (specifically Sarah Marston) asking for it to stop, I still receive emails asking for me to sign off their 'marketing document'.

GoogleSome good points and some bad points.
They have an In-house mortgage advisor Andy Greer, that was a true disgrace to his profession. Myself and my partner were pretty much forced to use this unwanted mortgage advisor as part of the purchase of our property from fjl. On 3 occasions we mentioned that we had our own trusted mortgage advisor and that we were not happy with Andy. But the estate agent from fjl working on our behalf warned us that we would probably lose the property if we didn't use their in-house mortgage advisor. Andy Greer was obnoxious and rude very short tempered with us throughout our dealings with him.
Both myself and my partner took it upon ourselves to actually go to the property we were planning to purchase to speak directly to the sellers as we feared we would now lose the property because of our continuous and acrimonious relationship with Andy Greer. The sellers were wonderful to us. We had tea with them and discussed our complications with this now infamous mortgage advisor. It turns out that they actually had to use Andy themselves when they bought the property 2 years before. To say the least they were very disappointed with his behaviour and found him to be very cantankerous when dealing with him.
After talking with the sellers and gaining their confidence we then proceeded to sack Andy as our mortgage advisor with their blessings.
We have since saved over £1000 in mortgage fees and managed to get our mortgage offers 1.5% cheaper than what Mr Greer was offering us.
Fjl acted very well with us after this horrendous bullying episode and I will certainly use them again.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased you were happy with the service provided by Felicity J Lord but sorry to read your comments regarding the mortgage advisor from Just Mortgages. Just Mortgages are independent from Felicity J Lord, and our customers would never be forced to use them. Having a mortgage consultant in branch has proved to not only help our customers with purchases and selling of their properties, but it also saves them time as they are in the branch and therefore can be kept informed of all progress at all times. We have investigated this further and this has been investigated internally and externally through an independent investigation by Legal & General. We are sorry there is nothing further the branch can assist you with here. We do wish you all the best for the future and hope you are enjoying your time in your home.

GoogleAfter renting properties as a student and being a young tenant, I've had many bad experiences with estate agents. FJL have been nothing but lovely, helpful and friendly in the time I've been dealing with them. The communication has been above par and they've been nothing short of perfect. Everything was explained to myself and my flatmate in great detail and there was never a point where we didn't know what was happening. The property itself is beautiful and the landlord seems to be very friendly and again, excellent at communication. The fees are standard and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I've felt like FJL have had our best interests at heart and were dedicated to finding us a property we loved and that was within our price range. Both my flatmate and myself are really happy with our new home.

GoogleSigned an agreement to lease, provided all documents and paid and everything. Got a call the week before I was supposed to move out that the tenants were taking advantage of the fact that the landlord improperly documented their intention to move out and were going to stay in the apartment.
Their offer to me, give a refund or show me apartments outside my price range! Didn't even acknowledge the fact that I had made arrangements myself based on the move in date!
Unless you absolutely love the apartment, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

GoogleAbsolutely terrible service. Avoid this agency at all costs.
After letting a property, we turned up at the agreed time to collect the keys, after an hour it turned out they had not got the keys and told me to go my new property and knock on the neighbour's door to see if they had the keys. Wow.
2 weeks after moving in, they've only just finished the inventory, the welcome pack (a copied and pasted email) was wrong and less than useful anyway.
I'm still waiting to find out who my utility suppliers are.
Nobody returns my emails requesting information.
I could go on!
You could get a better service off a hamster.

GoogleIgnorant, xenophobe and arrogant - actually unprofessional. I'm asking myself if some landlords wonder why their property doesn't go. First I was interrogated why I wanted to leave my current flat before speaking about any of their properties which we actually didn't. Never had that before. I'm working in a highly paid IT job on a freelance basis and offered references from my accountant. This was ignored. I was asked to pay 6 months in advance - I denied. I kept being interrogated and finally asked whether I would have a UK accountant AT ALL. Then I was asked to put down a £ 1000 (one thousand) holding deposit..... I wasn't allowed to view the property with the excuse they wouldn't have to keys (I would be alarmed now as landlord!). Complete waste of time unless you are a masochist and enjoy being humiliated. Wonder how they survive!

GoogleI rented a property via FJ Lord for a year. They were utterly inept, lazy and incompetent, disorganised and uncaring and wouldn't do anything unless cajoled. Their staff were obviously undertrained, and their management routinely changed their story during discussions. My landlord agreed and thankfully moved to another estate agent when letting out the flat again.
