We have endured a chaotic period during which rent on our 2 properties were withheld by agents FJL, despite having been paid on time by tenants. Countless phone call messages went unreturned, emails unanswered, promises broken until finally the funds were released to us by FJL yesterday. The stand out exception to this sorry episode has been JEAN PIPER in the Bow office. Super competent and efficient, Jean has taken responsibility for solving the problems, liaised with FJL accounts, apologised several times. She even contacted our tenants to say sorry to them for the mess FJL had caused. Jean is an absolute diamond and the 5* score is for her. As for FJL accounts department, 1* is one too many!

Jean Piper was fantastic to deal with. We had a few small issues to sort when we first moved into the flat, and while our usual point of contact was away, Jean stepped in. She was incredibly proactive, responsive, and kept us updated throughout, making sure everything was resolved as quickly as possible. We sold our house through FJ Lord and from the outset I was impressed with their professionalism, and knowledge of the area - this is the key reason why we picked them to market our property. Particular shoutout to Sachin who put up with me complaining about the speed of the transaction and talking me down and being at the end of the phone....and eventually together with Gurmukh wrestling the sale across the line which is a win for all parties! I never recommend it. I was very poorly served at this place by the professional Davinia White. I was discriminated against and the attendant seemed to be in a very bad mood. When I asked about a flat available on their website, the attendant showed total disregard without even knowing the necessary information. Even with so much time in the market, the attendant showed a lack of professionalism and empathy. Going to this company located in Mile End was a horrible experience. I do not recommend it!

The rental property that I had offered was severely misrepresented. We had a virtual viewing (with low lighting) and were asked to make an offer, we were interested but pressured by saying there were offers already and we had a 2 hour deadline. Once the offer was accepted and holding deposit placed we viewed in person to find multiple examples of mould and damp, scratches and scrapes on walls, broken fire alarm and towel rail off the wall Further to this they only said they would sort the issued AFTER the move in date We refused to progress for clear reasons and they became rude, unhelpful and refusing to return the holding deposit after false advertising. In the email chain they even plainly deny there being any mould or damp after previously saying that they would sort it after the move in date. I would strongly recommend against having dealings with these to anyone I know.

They misrepresented a rental property, forced a decision before allowing us to view. Once a holding deposit was placed, and we viewed the flat, it was covered head to toe in mould, whilst they only scheduled works AFTER our move in date. We requested our money back even factoring in health wise that we were unable to live in a mould flat, but we were denied time and time again. Other letting agents are far superior, I will personally never use them again and will be telling people I know to do the same.
