GoogleLouise and the team at Enfields took the stress out of renting my parent's property.
The whole process was straightforward and professional with a personal touch.
Their fees are also very reasonable and they didn’t quote me high and then haggle like other companies, they just came straight in with a reasonable fee.
Would definitely recommend them!

GoogleFor all students seeking house-shares, I’d be doing a disservice by staying silent about this estate agency. They made our university experience miserable for nearly a year. When we moved in, the flat was unliveable. It smelled of damp and cigarettes, with burns and stains all over the carpet and walls. Several light fixtures didn’t work, the shower door was removed, and the list of issues goes on. I had to move out immediately and stay in an Airbnb, as it was impossible to live there.
I promptly emailed the agency with photos, asking for repairs within a week and some compensation. I received slow responses, and when I had to move back in due to starting a new job, the flat was still in disrepair. They replaced some carpets and did a poor job on the rest, ignoring most of the issues I raised. They seemed unconcerned for our safety, whether it was the landlord or the agency. When they did respond, they defended the landlord as a “lovely person,” but that did nothing to improve our living conditions.
We were forced to live in a vermin-infested flat. To their credit, they sent pest control several times, but even the pest control company mentioned that Enfields had a reputation for not getting landlords to pay for necessary repairs. They informed us that the pest problem was ongoing and that we weren’t told before signing the lease. Had we known, we would not have moved in.
This wasn’t the only time we were warned about the agency. When we had a faulty boiler that made loud noises, we contacted the company Enfields recommended for out-of-hours issues. The company informed us they wouldn’t come out unless it was an emergency because Enfields couldn’t get their landlords to pay. The boiler was only “fixed” near the end of our tenancy when the landlord decided to sell the flat. Ironically, the plumber had previously claimed there was nothing wrong, despite the pressure gauge being at zero. This resulted in a high gas bill for us.
Throughout the tenancy, the agency did just enough so we couldn’t say nothing was being done, but they never fully fixed or apologized for the issues. Yet, they repeatedly assured us that our landlord was a lovely man, as if that excused their incompetence.
When we moved out, in what I can only assume was a poor attempt at humour, they attempted to claim over £700 from our deposit, despite the fact that one of the bedrooms had such severe damp and mold that I had to throw away clothes and an expensive mattress topper. At first, they admitted the damp issue, so we bought a dehumidifier and requested compensation. They asked for the receipt and promised to reimburse us but never did. Later, they sent an agent who claimed there was no smell. This baffled us, especially when their post-inventory noted that the room smelled strongly of mildew, damp, and mold.
But, nevertheless, our landlord was apparently a lovely man, so I guess that is a justifiable resolution to the 11 months & two weeks of incompetency.
We left the flat smarter and more cautious about renting. I now warn everyone I know who is looking to rent or buy. If Enfields ever responds to this review (which would be a miracle), please note that I have records of all communication, photos, and even testimonies from the previous tenants. I’m more than happy to sit down and discuss everything with them.
Enfields and the mysterious landlord, have the day you deserve.

GoogleI called to ask some details about agency. Firstly I spoke to a trainee member of staff. They asked many questions but when I asked what their commission rate was they refused to discuss. Was passed to another member of staff who was very rude and suggested I went elsewhere. You just lost a potential sale !!!!

My staff are highly trained with many years experience. They ask numerous questions so we can ensure we deliver the best possible experience to our clients. The fees are discussed at the appointment along with our highly rated service which is appropriate and ensures that our clients fully understand what they are paying for.
I would also like to comment that our staff will not tolerate rude and hostile behavior regardless of how frustrated you might be.

GoogleLandlord review... Coming from other letting agents I really really appreciated that at Enfields you deal with just one person when it comes to the property/tenant management side of things and that person being very helpful and quick to respond (thanks Emily!).
I've had a lot of problems with a tenant over the last year and this is just a massive time saver not having to constantly explain the situation.
My only negative feedback would be they could have done a better job at keeping track of small but important items left in the apartment. Things like the parking door remote, parking permits, and apartment documents weren't tracked in the inventories and have subsequently been lost at some point.

GoogleIf you ever wondered what it might feel like to communicate via smoke signals across the Atlantic, may I introduce you to Enfields Bournemouth. Their communication skills make carrier pigeons seem cutting-edge, and they approach urgent repairs with the urgency of a snail considering a marathon, particularly when our house became a miniature Niagara Falls for over 7 months. Leaking ceilings? Ah, just part of the ambiance, apparently!
As for deposit returns, well... ever played Monopoly and landed on “Go to Jail” for the tenth time in a row? That sinking, unjust feeling sums it up. Enfields seems to think they’ve entered the high art of creative writing when it comes to making up reasons to keep as much of your deposit as possible. Want to be charged for wear and tear? Or maybe you fancy some unsubstantiated cleaning fees? They've got you covered.
What really stings is after chatting with friends who rented through literally *any* other agency, they had zero of these problems. Responsive agents, honest communication, and *actual* repairs, what a concept!
To sum it up, renting with Enfields is like trying to have a coherent conversation with a wall, you end up with nothing but frustration. But hey, if you’re after a lesson in patience, or need an excuse to buy a bucket for your living room, look no further!
Honestly, in all seriousness, save yourself the time and hassle and go with anyone else. Especially if you are a student, you will be at the bottom of their priority list.

GoogleSTUDENTS DON’T RENT HERE💥
Enfield’s are known for being awful to their student tenants. Last year we were given a contract to sign that was £600pcm only for them to phone a month later and change the rent to £1000pcm because they ‘read the wrong advert.’ The agent who showed me the property, proceeded to lie over the phone and tell me she definitely told me it was £1000 despite pictures, notes and messages proving otherwise. They also then revealed that despite saying the contract had been completed by all parties, the landlord had never signed it and so it wasn’t a valid contract and therefore we couldn’t challenge it. It’s come to my attention that numerous of my peers have been falsely advertised too, being sold completely different properties and moving in to something entirely different. If you are a student, don’t rent via them, there are far nicer companies in bournemouth who care about student wellbeing.

Google"Absolutely terrible experience with Enfields. The flat was advertised as a 2-bed, but it turned out to be only 1 bed, apparently the part of the kitchen with a carpet and no wall is a bedroom. There were large cracks in the walls that were never fixed despite complaints of them getting worse. The landlord was utterly unresponsive, leaving us stranded when our oven broke down twice. It took over 3 weeks each time to get a replacement, and only after we had to threaten to withhold rent did they finally act. We told the landlord that we were thinking of moving before our tenancy ended and were happy to carry on paying rent, of which they replied that they may be able to let us end the tenancy early as they have people interested in the flat to move in sooner. When they requested to get keys off us to view that flat with possible new tenants they never showed up to receive keys and nobody viewed the flat, keeping us unsure about our tenancy. To top it off, despite handing in our keys early, we were promised an early return of our deposit but ended up waiting over 5 weeks, having to chase Enfields constantly as they failed to get any response from the landlord.

Google£24k per year, and your maximum allowable rental will be £775pcm. All they're able to offer for a single parent with a 9 year old is a studio, if that. Sickening.

Thank you for adding your review, we are sorry to hear you were disappointed with the outcome of your enquiry.
As we said during the call we appreciate how difficult it is to rent a property in the current market.
In your situation to successfully pass referencing you will firstly need to meet the affordability criteria set. The calculation is that your gross annual salary would need to be at 30 times the monthly rent which is very much the industry norm, not just something that is required by Enfields. In your circumstances based on an annual salary of £24,000 you would pass a referencing check with a monthly rental up to £800PCM.
Whilst we understand why you find this disappointing the reason these requirements are set across the industry is to ensure someone renting a property will be able to afford to pay the rent as well as the cost of living.
We are sorry we were unable to help you with the property you wanted to view but if there is anything more we can do to help with your search please feel free to reach out.

GoogleRented through Enfields for our final year at university, had to hassle them for basic repairs such as fences falling down multiple times and removal of a large pile of rubbish left in the garden. Further repairs were needed on the boiler and shower which was another round of waiting and hassling . No mower or shed was provided which left us students with no way of caring for the garden. When contacted about this, we were told to look in the nonexistent shed. After further contact, we were told that it’s on us and in the contract which we feel is just a cheeky way to keep the deposits each year. Neighbours have said that this is a reoccurring issue. Will not be renting through them again and don’t recommend for students.
