Did not stay in one of their properties myself, but my girlfriend did. She is not so much into online reviews, so I thought I would just share her experience. During the check-in inventory, many ridiculous mistakes were made...twice! She asked for the inventory to be re-done after a disastrous first attempt and the second go was hardly better. Bear in mind, the flat did not have many items to note down. After the first breakdown of costs, suddenly more expenses appeared. You may be shielded against these issues with the new rules on rental agencies' fees, but it shows their bad faith. And now the juicy part: just a few weeks after moving in, my girlfriend noticed some mold stains on a few walls. The agency's reply was to paint over them (standard response). The concierge mentioned that the flat above had had a massive leakage a year before. We thought it would be a small leftover of humidity that had small patches of mold grow, so I recommend my girlfriend to crank up the heat and have the last bits of water removed. Ha! The mold expanded and started growing on several walls. The agency carried on ignoring the problem and telling my girlfriend to paint over the stains. We had a hygiene officer from the city council assess the situation and he measured humidity above reasonable threshold on half the surface of the affected walls. This means that for a whole year before my gf moved in nothing, absolutely nothing at all, had been done to dry up the walls and to prevent a plague-like mold expansion. The agency refused several times to let her move out on account of the 6months break clause not been effective yet. Just when actual items, i.e. clothes and guitars were covered in mold and we were threatening with legal actions, then they let her go. 5 months with Davies Tate, have been absolute hell for her and for myself. She even developed a chronic coughing, which surely was caused by the stress of moving and starting a new job, but was just as surely aggravated by third world-like hygiene conditions. You could say this experience properly davies-tated her.. I will get even started on the baffling lack of politeness and professionalism overall. It's a whole new dedicated review

For those who have lived in a Victorian terrace, or any property built in the 19th century, you'll know the amount of upkeep they often demand. To live comfortably in such a property as a tenant, you require an efficient, friendly, punctual and reliable property manager.
