I have rented with Davis Tate for the past 6 years, then in Feb I relocated to another Davis Tate property in a nearby village. The whole process was managed through Rebecca based in the Reading office. Despite there being quite a few hurdles during the process, Rebecca was excellent, communicating with me almost daily. I cannot thank her enough, moving is stressful, yet Rebecca made the process much smoother, remaining upbeat, calm and supportive throughout. Highly recommended.

We sold our house and bought our new one through Davis Tate Reading in September. The whole experience was made so much easier than we ever thought by both Charlie and Tom. The whole team were fantastic but we mainly dealt with Charlie and Tom. They were there for any questions we had, went above and beyond to support us and responded quickly to every email or call. Definitely wouldn’t recommend. Following a viewing of a property, I put an offer forward last Saturday morning. Was told on Monday there were 2 offers and I would receive an update ASAP. Still waiting for a call! Absolutely no communication from Tristan at all! Luckily we did secure another property with a different estate agents. If you’re looking to sell/buy/rent a property, definitely use a different agent. Very disappointed ☹️ To add following their reply: That is absolutely incorrect! I did not advise I had accepted another property. I told Tristan I had seen another property, but I was holding off on that one, until I had a decision about this one. I heard nothing further and only had a response from Tristan after posting my review!

I have been a tenant managed by Davis Tate since October 2024. In 17 months of tenancy, I have experienced: an exposed electrical socket left unresolved for months until the local council intervened; a chimney problem reported on day one still unresolved 17 months later (a bird entered our home through it); no hot water in the main bathroom for the entire tenancy; three documented gas safety deficiencies on the Gas Safety Certificate left unremedied for over 20 months; and a Building Regulations Compliance Certificate withheld for 13 months after a boiler replacement. When I raised legitimate complaints, the agent suggested I should leave rather than address the disrepair. When a rent increase was disputed through the proper legal process, I received a written email threatening that this "may go against you should you require any future reference." The property was advertised for rent in the Davis Tate office window while simultaneously claiming the landlord's family intended to move in as the reason for our eviction. Reading Borough Council inspected and identified a Category 2 hazard. I have now filed formal complaints with the TPO, Propertymark, LSL Property Services (their parent company), Trading Standards, the HSE, the ICO, and my MP. I am a family of six including twin newborns. I would strongly advise any prospective tenant to exercise extreme caution before engaging Davis Tate as their managing agent.
