GoogleI have never felt compelled to leave a review before, but my experience with Moginie James (Pontcanna) has been so disappointing that I feel it is necessary to warn others. My flatmate and I were consistently ignored by Nicola and her colleagues, who failed to respond to our emails, calls, and "Fix Flo" requests. They repeatedly claimed that they were waiting for the landlord approval, stating that he was unresponsive. However, after 10 months of frustration, Rent Smart Wales informed me that the landlord was actually very responsive and willing to address the issues, including the unsafe, rotting balcony. We were paying £1000 for a property with a lovely balcony, which was a major selling point. After my initial visit, I was assured that the balcony would be "made safe." Unfortunately, upon moving in, I discovered that only 1 out of the 12 rotten decking panels had been replaced, which was completely inadequate. Additionally, our windows were broken for the entire 12-month tenancy and were never fixed, resulting in higher heating bills. To make matters worse, I received two parking fines totaling £320 in my last week of tenancy because the parking permit provided by Moginie James was a photocopy. If you are renting with them, ensure your parking permit is valid, as it seems they may issue photocopies. Moginie James are refusing to take responsibility, and due to this being a legal issue, I am now forced to pay. Throughout my tenancy, Moginie James (Pontcanna) consistently refused to take responsibility and hoped that we would simply go away. Their unprofessionalism and laziness were evident in every interaction. At the start of the tenancy, I could see how unprofessional they acted and made sure to take pictures and videos of everything, anticipating that they would try to blame me at the end of the tenancy. This is exactly what they did, attempting to bill me for everything. To avoid further fuss, I paid them £100 to be finally done with them. Their inventory pictures were incorrect, adding to the frustration. In contrast, the Roath branch was helpful and professional, particularly Christopher Ashton, who was the only person to correspond and genuinely try to assist us. If you are considering renting through Moginie James, I strongly advise against the Pontcanna branch. While I have heard that their sales services are decent, their letting services are abysmal. There are other reviews similar to mine, so please take this warning seriously.

GoogleI have interacted with a lot of Estate/Letting Agents in Cardiff and Moginie James have been brilliant. They have been really good at responding quickly to enquiries, really helpful with lots of information and regularly check in to keep me up to date. All the properties are very well managed and they have excellent information and advice about the Residency Scheme and Tenant Liability Insurance. They have a brilliant website which clearly guides you through applications and is a brilliant resource. I was shown around by Andrew in the Roath office who was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and really made an effort to give me as much information about the property as possible. He also checked other details and got back to me to answer my more complicated questions. I would highly recommend them.

GoogleThe reference-checking system is so worst, that they can't even listen to our words even if they get wrong. Be careful while paying holding deposits or any other payments before the tenancy agreement they will not return a single penny to us if the mistakes on both sides, and they will point out our mistakes and keep the money in their pockets. I recommend to not to go with this Agency please. Money will be wasted.
