Dealt with Amanda in the Bishop Aukland office. It brought to mind the old Monty Python sketch “do you want the 15 minute argument or the full half hour”Honestly trying to book a simple viewing in Crawleyside turned into major argument as I apparently told her the wrong time and God forbid she’d have to actually do something like rearrange a viewing. Either she’s having a bad day or there’s a policy of trying once only in that office and sod you if you screw up 😂

GoogleWe recently appointed JWW to sell our property. We have had multiple views and recently accepted an offer - all within three weeks. The whole experience as a first time seller has been really positive with JWW. From reaching out to Sue initially to enquire about selling, we received a friendly and warm welcome and answered all our questions patiently and kindly, Sue then arranged for Gary to come out to us the very next day. Gary was excellent, he gave us good advice on marketing our property, there was no pressure at all to sell, we felt in complete control over what we were comfortable with. Gary tapped into his knowledge and expertise of selling in our area and true to his word, had our property out to the market within the same week. Our viewings were arranged by either Kerry or Sandrine, and both of them effectively liaised between ourselves and the buyer to negotiate an effective price for our property. I found that Sandrine and Kerry quickly respond to my emails and questions, keeping us up to date with crucial milestones. I think we will always stick to using JWW in Darlington they have been an amazing team working on the sale of our property.

After trying to sell our home with a handful of local and national estate agents who wooed us with big valuations and promises of keen buyers in our area, we've had a great experience of selling with JW Wood in a challenging market. Julie, Jonathan and the team couldn't have been more helpful with their advice, even long before we switched to Woods, and now they're being equally proactive to help us with our next move. We will definitely use JWW when moving again in future (hopefully a long time off!) and we'll save ourselves a lot of headache by starting with them next time!

GoogleRented a property from JW Wood and found them to be completely unsatisfactory. -During a property inspection while our flat was vacant, their staff negligently altered the thermostat resulting in an electric bill exceeding £1,000. We had to beg them to contribute to this bill and were forced to threaten legal action. No apology was received -Staff conducted an unprofessional check out inspection where they expressed their glee over tiny specs of dirt found in remote corners of the flat. Following the inspection, they wrongfully deducted more than half of our deposit. -During our deposit dispute, the agency submitted inaccurate evidence to the adjudicator (TDS), using pictures of ANOTHER flat to justify their deposit deductions. We received the majority of our disputed deposit back after lengthy proceedings. -An entire year after we left the property, they mistakenly sent an email for the current tenants, disclosing that they were deducting over £700 from their deposit. It was distressing to see that even a whole year later, JW Wood could not even bother to check the names of who they were intending to scam next. Students avoid renting properties with JW Woods. Landlords, if you want to retain an ounce of professionalism, choose another agency.

We are then governed by the TDS and follow their guidance as to ensure a fair outcome. Consett branch OK but the sales woman to say what is going on, never gets back intouch, really bad customer service. We have left 7 voice messages and no reply from her. Terrible service

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID. They were dishonest and were not presenting our interests as the sellers and promoted and protected the buyer. The overall service verged on negligence and they were in violation of three of the codes of conduct that they are signatory to, and we thought about taking them to the property Ombudsman but we decided our time is too valuable to spend on them. The Durham office knew that we were so disappointed and so shocked, of how things transpired including the managing director, but not a single person picked up the phone to talk to us. They deserve 0 stars in reality. They in fact give a bad name to real estate agents. It took us that long to digest how badly they managed the whole process over an 11 months period, and only now we feel we can put a review that reflects their unprofessionalism, dishonesty and the favoring of the buyer, while representing us and the sale of our house.
