⭐☆☆☆☆ My experience with JW Woods Estate Agents has been extremely disappointing. I raised serious concerns about the property, including damage that was already present before I moved in, issues with the electricity and gas accounts being in debt, and ongoing problems with an inconsiderate and disruptive neighbour. I provided evidence, including photographs showing the condition of the property before I moved in, but I felt my concerns were not properly listened to or taken seriously. The response I received from the estate agents was extremely disappointing and left me feeling that my situation had not been handled with the professionalism, fairness, and care I expected. I was also concerned that my communications did not receive a response until I followed up, and I was left with the impression that my concerns were not being treated seriously. During my tenancy, I experienced behaviour from the landlord that I found deeply upsetting, including comments that I felt mocked my disabilities, my religious practices, and my use of phrases such as “wallahi”. I found this disrespectful and distressing. A tenant should feel safe, respected, and supported in their own home. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling intimidated, dismissed, and without confidence that my concerns were being handled appropriately. Based on my experience, I would not recommend JW Woods Estate Agents.

From the first point of contact to the end sale the service was outstanding. The survey was conducted by Adrian he gave us some great advices on how to get the best price. The office staff Vicky and Gill help with all of paperwork required. Chloe kept me up to date was so helpful with any questions I had. The property sold within couple of weeks and we achieved the price we wanted. Over all the service was great and I would highly recommend this service to anyone looking to sell or purchase a property.

Following my original review

Following my original review, I provided additional evidence including Uber earnings records and bank statements to support the income declared on my application. The tenancy ultimately did not proceed because the landlord required a successful Goodlord referencing outcome. However, after reviewing the evidence, JWW agreed to refund the holding deposit in full. The process was frustrating at times, particularly due to delays and conflicting communication regarding the holding deposit. However, I appreciate that the matter was eventually reviewed by management and resolved, and the refund has now been received. Thank you to Ashley Mitchell for taking the time to review the case and bring it to a conclusion.

Organisation is a mess.

I applied for a letted property I specifically stated on the online form that I couldn’t attend on Friday for viewing before 12:30pm due to work. 5 days prior to the viewing I received an appointment to attend at 10:30….I phoned a few hours later to rearrange an appointment they stated 1pm and I agreed. I received an email a few hours later to say the colleague couldn’t make so they will push it back to 2pm instead. Okay no problem. The next day I received another email stated their colleague couldn’t make it for 2pm so they would push it back to 3pm. The day of my appointment arrives I knock on the door nobody is there so I phoned the office to be told my appointment was 2:30!! I never received any correspondence stating that time! Eventually Megan turned up. She was professional and friendly and apologetic, but their organisation is a joke I will think twice before applying for JW Wood.

Fantastic Letting Agent

I recently viewed and let a house with Sarah Perrin at JW Wood Lettings and she was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire process. Superb!

Another great marketing and sales experience from the team at JW Wood. My mother has used them over the years and they have always been excellent. They seem to have a better pool of buyers and the house was sold in a couple of weeks which was amazing. There is a downside, we used their conveyancing services which were terrible and very stressful to deal with. They were so slow that we ended up being stung for SDLT, communication was none existent too. I had to source seperate independent additional legal advice which cost us as they were getting things wrong with one thing and another. They're not directly part of JW Wood and therefore the above is not a reflection on JW Wood whose aftersales team were as frustrated as we were. A big thank you to Kelly in JW Wood aftersales for helping us sort out the conveyancers, you were superb! Thank you. So a massive thank you to Geoff, Sarah, Julie and team JW Wood. We're in our new property, mother is safer for it and we are very very happy because of all your help. I wouldn't use anybody else because JW Wood have always delivered a fantastic five star service. Rigid Viewing Hours and an Unwillingness to Accommodate

When initially attempting to make a viewing with J W Wood we tried to book in for after 5pm to view a property as I work a 9-5 and would be unable to make my way over sooner as we live and work out of the area. The solution offered for this was to come with my partner for a viewing on the weekend. This, unfortunately, wasn’t a possibility for us as my partner works in hospitality and very rarely is able to do anything on a weekend due to work commitments. On the Friday his work commitments changed and he had availability on the Sunday so we called up immediately to see if it was possible to book a viewing on this day as we had previously been told there was weekend availability to be told they also do not offer viewings on a Sunday and the only way for us to view this property would be to book holidays in at work or to come separately for viewings which is beyond ideal! We have recently been burnt by having to go for separate viewings and an offer being accepted on a property in the meantime so this is not how we wish to move forward. There was no attempt to discuss with management if there was a possibility for any flexibility and the communication regarding weekend availability was abysmal and has left us with a sour taste in our mouth. Why make a process already as stressful as buying a property even more so by having to rearrange our working lives? Very unhappy with the low level of customer service provided.
