I would like to say a big thank you to JW Wood in Consett, I recently put my house on the market with them and I really like their friendly approach no hard sell just genuinely nice people and a pleasure to deal with. Just a mention for Julie who was the manager of my property. Julie is an asset to JW Wood such a nice lady to speak to and really easy to deal with. Should I need to use JW Wood in the future based on my experience I wouldn’t hesitate so a big thank you from me.

I was dreading having to sell a relatives property. Partly because the last time I moved home myself, it was stressful enough, but mainly because I wasn't in the area of the property. When we walked into JW Wood in Consett as our first step, we were welcomed by Denise Peace. Great start and we never got to a second Estate Agent. She settled our apprehension and as we wouldn't be back in the area for another week, she managed to arrange a valuation for that very afternoon, having taken all of the necessary details. We met Joe Bennison later that day. His knowledge and experience belies his youthful appearance and was full of energy. His advice turned out to be great. We'd never thought of using an Auction rather than the open market, but in our situation it was the correct choice. We almost reached the open market valuation. 6 weeks from start to finish. The support from the rest of the team at Consett was there whenever we needed it and Agent Property Auction were very slick too. Thanks to everyone involved. :)

⭐☆☆☆☆ My experience with JW Woods Estate Agents has been extremely disappointing. I raised serious concerns about the property, including damage that was already present before I moved in, issues with the electricity and gas accounts being in debt, and ongoing problems with an inconsiderate and disruptive neighbour. I provided evidence, including photographs showing the condition of the property before I moved in, but I felt my concerns were not properly listened to or taken seriously. The response I received from the estate agents was extremely disappointing and left me feeling that my situation had not been handled with the professionalism, fairness, and care I expected. I was also concerned that my communications did not receive a response until I followed up, and I was left with the impression that my concerns were not being treated seriously. During my tenancy, I experienced behaviour from the landlord that I found deeply upsetting, including comments that I felt mocked my disabilities, my religious practices, and my use of phrases such as “wallahi”. I found this disrespectful and distressing. I also want to add that this estate agent appears to have a staff member who has made deeply offensive comments on LinkedIn about an Egyptian man and his Muslim beliefs. I am also concerned about the staff member’s association with a company director who has allegedly made repeated racist comments about Islam. I believe this behaviour raises serious questions about the standards and values of the people representing this business, and I hope the matter is properly investigated. A tenant should feel safe, respected, and supported in their own home. Unfortunately, my experience left me feeling intimidated, dismissed, and without confidence that my concerns were being handled appropriately. Based on my experience, I would not recommend JW Woods Estate Agents.

Can’t thank Julie L and the team enough for all the support with paperwork whilst purchasing our new home. We had unusual complications with ID checks , however we got there in the end. What a fantastic team who clearly communicate with each as every time I phoned everyone knew the problem and were sympathetic .The team then offered a solution and made the process easier for us as we are living 80 miles away in our holiday home. Thanks everyone I would certainly recommend you all for sale and purchase to Friends and Family in the future. Following my original review

Following my original review, I provided additional evidence including Uber earnings records and bank statements to support the income declared on my application. The tenancy ultimately did not proceed because the landlord required a successful Goodlord referencing outcome. However, after reviewing the evidence, JWW agreed to refund the holding deposit in full. The process was frustrating at times, particularly due to delays and conflicting communication regarding the holding deposit. However, I appreciate that the matter was eventually reviewed by management and resolved, and the refund has now been received. Thank you to Ashley Mitchell for taking the time to review the case and bring it to a conclusion.

I had such a great experience with Cray Norton estate agents when buying my property, I couldn’t recommend them enough. From the very beginning their communication was brilliant. Buying a home can be very stressful, but they made the whole process feel so much easier by keeping me updated every step of the way. I had a really positive experience with this estate agent. Darren and Archie were consistently accommodating throughout the process. Whenever I needed updates, they chased the sellers promptly and always came back to me in a timely manner, which made the whole journey far less stressful. Chloe was also fantastic during the viewings. She was friendly, patient, and incredibly helpful, going above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. The thought of moving House at the ages of 77 and 83 yrs Old we were very concerned about what lay ahead. We decided to use JW Wood estate agents in Consett as we had used them just over 20 years ago to move into the House we were now having to sell due to ill health. All the staff were very friendly but at the same time professional and guided us through everything along the way. Daily update by E Mail and telephone assured us the sale was in good ex experienced hands. Within 5 Days we had 3 viewings and a second visit from one person who actually bought Our House. Organisation is a mess.

I applied for a letted property I specifically stated on the online form that I couldn’t attend on Friday for viewing before 12:30pm due to work. 5 days prior to the viewing I received an appointment to attend at 10:30….I phoned a few hours later to rearrange an appointment they stated 1pm and I agreed. I received an email a few hours later to say the colleague couldn’t make so they will push it back to 2pm instead. Okay no problem. The next day I received another email stated their colleague couldn’t make it for 2pm so they would push it back to 3pm. The day of my appointment arrives I knock on the door nobody is there so I phoned the office to be told my appointment was 2:30!! I never received any correspondence stating that time! Eventually Megan turned up. She was professional and friendly and apologetic, but their organisation is a joke I will think twice before applying for JW Wood.

Fantastic Letting Agent

I recently viewed and let a house with Sarah Perrin at JW Wood Lettings and she was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire process. This is my first home I have let on my own and Sarah made the entire process much easier to manage, she communicated every stage with me and had the entire process complete in a couple of weeks. She is a fantastic asset to the team and a lovely person who made me feel at ease throughout! I couldn’t recommend the company and Sarah more if I tried. 5⭐️
