GoogleIf every house move had a Carol, the process would be so much easier. Our purchase tested everyone involved! There were tears, frustrations, tense moments and times when it felt like the whole purchase might collapse. Through all of it, Carol was the calm in the storm. She listened, reassured, explained, mediated, and kept things moving. She showed genuine compassion and understanding, always making us feel heard and supported. Her knowledge and professionalism gave us confidence when we were close to walking away. We honestly don’t think this move would have happened without her persistence, patience, and care. GoogleAbsolutely fantastic service from all of the staff at Intercounty Saffron Walden. From the very start to exchange of contracts all of the staff were very efficient. A special mention to Karen for going that extra mile in her commitment she showed us as customers. Her efficiency, support and understanding during the somewhat tricky times that came about during the sale was always there. GoogleWe’ve had a great purchasing experience with Intercounty Saffron Walden. In particularly Karen Johnson, who managed to hold our chain together right through to exchange, (despite quite a few unforeseen hold ups along the way). We were kept updated on a regular basis, and she was very helpful in offering guidance when we needed things to progress. I wouldn't hesitate in using Intercounty for future sales/purchases.

TrustpilotFirst time buyer, terrible experience
As a first-time buyer, my experience with this estate agency was extremely disappointing. During a purchase that later fell through, I received frequent calls pressuring me to chase my solicitor and suggesting I was holding up the sale. One agent even described my solicitor as “useless” and implied we were not progressing matters properly. Months later it became clear that my solicitor had done everything correctly and that the delays were actually related to the sellers and their solicitors. Unfortunately, by that point the purchase had collapsed and I had lost around £1,000 in solicitor fees. When I later returned to view other properties with the same agency, the first comment made was “poor sellers”, with no acknowledgement of my previous experience. During viewings I also felt I wasn’t taken seriously as a buyer. Despite having proof of funds from my mortgage broker, I was treated as though I couldn’t afford certain properties. As a 25-year-old buyer, the overall experience felt dismissive and patronising rather than supportive. Buying your first home should be an exciting milestone, but unfortunately my experience with this agency was frustrating and disheartening.

Throughout the transaction, our intention was to keep all parties informed and to help progress matters as efficiently as possible. Where delays arise, it is standard practice for us to encourage buyers and sellers to liaise with their solicitors, as they are best placed to provide detailed updates on the legal process. This is part of ensuring communication remains active across the chain, rather than attributing fault. Property transactions can unfortunately be complex, and delays can occur for a variety of reasons outside of an agent’s control, particularly within the legal process. While we work hard to support progress, we do not have full visibility of, or influence over, the work being carried out by solicitors on either side. That said, I am sorry to hear that your subsequent interactions left you feeling uncomfortable or not taken seriously. This is certainly not the standard we aim to deliver, and your comments have been taken seriously and shared with the team to ensure we reflect and improve where needed. We do regret that your purchase did not proceed and understand the frustration that comes with that. We would very much welcome the opportunity to support you in securing your next home and to demonstrate the high level of service and care we strive to provide to every customer.
