James was incredible, we have been shown student homes by other companies and estate agents and James by far was the friendliest and more importantly, helpful in finding our new home answering all questions! Thanks

Have been recently viewing student houses in Winton, and have been round twice with James who was very helpful in getting us house viewings, giving us instant communication about houses and showing us around these houses.

Very satisfied with the customer service. James was great in helping my friends and I secure a student house for the next academic year with ease. Highly recommend him and enfields.

James was fantastic in helping us secure our student home! He was professional, approachable, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. James was always available to answer our questions and went the extra mile to ensure everything was sorted quickly. Thanks to him, we found the perfect place to call home. Highly recommend!

I moved into a 1 bed house 4 months ago and really enjoy living in it. Emily and her team have always been really quick to respond to any problems, promptly getting them sorted and working with me. No matter what I've mentioned a resolution has always been found, very pleased with the service I receive.

I don't like giving bad reviews but I have to be honest. I was an bit disappointed really. Started strong with the initial visit, and the lady who took pictures to set up the ad was nice, but they didn't seem to want to know me anymore once a buyer was found. Always felt like I was somehow getting on someone's nerves by calling and that's on the rare occasion that I got through in the first place. Most of the time the person I tried to speak to wasn't available and several times I requested a call back it never happened! Also cost me 3x what it would have elsewhere, but that's my own fault for not shopping around. I just wanted a hassle free experience but I'd have expected someone to at least return a call occasionally. Oh, also expecting me to drop the keys off on the day I'm moving, on my own, stressed out of my mind in total chaos with 4 animals roaming around, when they are just down the road, only did 1 viewing and earned just under 7 grand for their efforts - it would have been nice if they offered to pick the keys up at least! For 7 grand and 1 viewing, I'd drive to Bristol to get the keys, never mind 5 minutes down the road!! I'd definitely shop around in future.
Hello Mr Sandford, We hope you have settled in to your new place. Obviously we are disappointed with the low review but never the less thank you for your feedback. It’s always welcomed and where we can, we use it to improve our service. We rate communication very highly in our business and rarely find this to be an issue. However in this case we have taken on board your comments, reviewed where we think we could improve and taken action upon it. Collecting keys. Completions can take place at any time of the day and upon completion the purchasers expect their new keys to be handed over almost immediately so they can begin the process of moving in. If staff are not available to pick up keys at the time of completion then this would cause frustration. Hence the reason it is standard practice and expectation throughout the industry for sellers to drop their keys with us once they have finished. In respect to your other comments particularly There are a number of key measures in Estate Agency. Time to sell, the current average is 70 days where yours took 56 days Time from selling to completion, the current average is 140 days where yours took 98 days How close to asking price, the current average is between 5-10% where we achieved 100% of the asking price. This did not happen by luck. The skill of the valuer to price the property correctly and not over value like some agents are tending to do, the knowledge of the negotiators to identify the right person to introduce to the property, the skill of the person to deal with the offer and negotiate ensuring we achieved asking price and finally the skill and knowledge of the sale progressor to ensure things moved smoothly with the solicitors and all involved. We hope on reflection you can see where the value of your fee was achieved. We wish you all the best and good luck in the future.

I’m a student who was looking to move into my first house with 3 of my mates, we had James. He was amazing and so committed to his job he went above and beyond to help.Great experience wouldn’t have asked for anything more. Thanks James

I could not recommend Enfields highly enough. Not only are the staff extremely professional, they were relentless in their support they provided me as I looked to sell my property. Rachael needs a special mention as she remained dedicated in the sometimes thankless role of chasing/keeping all parties communicated and ensuring all ducks are in a row. I have no doubt that without her efforts and positive disposition, many sales would have fallen through at what remains a precarious time for both buyer and seller in todays market.

I rented as a student with Enfields back in 2021/2022. The house was in very bad order, with extremely overgrown garden and obviously had been overlooked by the landlord for decades. Consistently, we were let down by both Enfields and the Landlord, though for the life of me I have no idea why they keep such rundown and poorly maintained (and unsafe) properties in their letting portfolios. The most frustrating part, which I should have listened to previous reviews regarding is that they DO NOT GIVE YOUR DEPOSIT BACK. (Yes, they didn’t take the whole thing, but consistently take from each and every deposit they hold.) I have photos which we took at the start of tenancy and after our three days of cleaning at the end of tenancy, which clearly showed how we had pretty much added value to the property. The charges included things such as: a mirror we informed them 3+ times was broken including (via email) on move in and for a desk chair which never even existed. All items completely over valued, of course. Due to the complete lack of communication, frustrating disregard for us and just wanting the whole scenario to be over, we eventually accepted the charges as they ended up just holding our remaining deposit money 'ransom' by not replying to us. I would truly avoid if you can, and if you're unable, be ready for 12 months of pain. It was truly a degrading experience dealing with Enfields for the year. The photos below give you an idea for the standard of the property at move-in. The inventory was actually honest and made for a comical read- shame it was not referenced to again at the end of tenancy.
Hi Emma, First of all I wanted to thank you for allowing Enfields to help you find your student accommodation and I am sorry to hear of your frustrations. I note your comments about communication and I want to assure you I have shared this with my team. I have also reached out to you directly as I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your experience to ensure we have acted in the best possible way and review with you all of the independent evidence etc. The property you rented has extremely long rear garden positioned on a steep hill. When the landlord decided to rent the property to students back in 2010 she felt it was unfair to expect you to maintain such a unique garden and didn’t want to charge students what would undoubtedly be a large sum of money in gardening costs if each year they let it grow wild. As there is also a large raised decked area off the back of the property the landlord separated the garden from the main house and offered this raised deck as your main outdoor area (which has been the case for the last 14 years). The pictures in your review relate to the garden area not included in your tenancy which you were permitted to access nor responsible to maintain. In this instance I would agree that the landlord has made the right call not including the garden in an effort to protect students from a huge burden and expense. Upon double checking your deposit I can confirm we lodged this on your behalf with the Deposit Protection Scheme which is a government funded free custodial service to ensure you are treated fairly at the end of your tenancy. You paid a deposit in the sum of £1557.69 and you signed a copy of the DPS Prescribed Information confirming you had read and understood how to claim your deposit back at the end of the tenancy/how to dispute your deposit if you were unhappy. Your tenancy stated, if deductions were necessary, it may take up to 30 days for these to be processed. An email was sent to you 2 weeks before your tenancy end date explaining the deposit process/offering advice on how to ensure you get your deposit back whilst another email was sent to you 2 weeks after your tenancy ended updating you on any progress. Within 30 days of you leaving the property you received an email with the independent check out report confirming your landlord intended to hold back £161.00 from the £1557.69 for several items that corresponded with the inventory report the landlord had arranged when you moved in. The DPS offer a straight forward process should you not agree as the burden of proof always lies with the landlord when requesting any deposit deductions. In other words they have to prove they have a legitimate claim and the tenant has no obligation to prove their position. Your deposit was being held by the DPS therefore it is impossible for your landlord (or Enfields) to hold your deposit as ‘ransom’ and should you dispute any deductions the remaining undisputed amount would be paid back to you by the custodial scheme. Feel free to contact me directly if you need to rent a property in the future, as I would love to ensure the process is dealt with in the best possible.

I'm writing this review as I've been absolutely thrilled with the fantastic service I've had from Enfields estate agents. Bethany was pivotal in providing advice and arranging quotes prior to my flat sale. During the sale Rachel Clark could not have been more helpful and informative. I could always get in touch with her and she kept me abreast of where we were. Nothing was too much trouble. I feel lucky to have had their help - very pleased customer! :-)

My experience with Enfields has been amaizing from the begining to the end…
My experience with Enfields has been incredibly positive. I chose this agency to purchase my home, and 18 years later, I chose them again to sell it. From the very beginning, the service has been outstanding. Unlike other agencies, they genuinely invest time in their clients, which has been incredible, much more than I expected. They often responded outside of office hours, always with kindness and a positive attitude, providing invaluable assistance. Selling a house can be very stressful, but thanks to the agents at Enfields, everything has been much easier. Their dedication, personal touch, patience, and understanding made me feel like I had a true friend by my side, one of the good ones. I can never fully express my gratitude for their support. I highly recommend this agency to anyone seeking excellent service from start to finish

When you accidentally find out by browsing Rightmove that the property is no longer available. But you've got a viewing booked for the following day and no one from Enfields told you. What do you do? You give the agent 1 star. Cheers Team. Keep up the terrible work.

My experience with Enfields have been reasonable and thorough. Their follow-up, providing information, periodic updates were all fine. More importantly they are far better on the street compared some local agents in this location.

We were very happy to have chosen Enfields for our recent house sale, they had successfully sold a few others down our road recently and Jonathan was very enthusiastic about our property which we felt was important for showing it in the best light. We were not disappointed and achieved our sale within a week of going on the market (thank you Ian!). Rachel took over and was very responsive to our emails throughout the conveyancing period and brilliant at ironing out any issues that arose. Would definitely go with Enfields for any future sale.
Thank you for the 5* review!

We recently purchased a house through Enfields and we could not be happier with the service we received. Rachael in particular deserves a shout out for always being responsive to emails and helping to get the deal over the line. Would definitely recommend.

I was a part of a group of students renting a property for the 2023/24 period and I must say that if you want a stress free experience, don’t use this company. While the staff themselves were lovely people, the way our tenancy was handled was less than ideal and caused us stress on multiple occasions. Initially, they lost multiple of our emails during the signing of forms, and even asked us to resend our deposit despite us telling them we had already sent it. We understood that they were busy with masses of students using their services at the time, so we didn’t think much of it. However, when the time came to live in the property, the landlord had organised for some windows to be replaced without Enfields knowing, despite using one of their (now fired) contractors. This contractor on multiple occasions entered our house without permission from either us or Enfields, and it only took a third offence and a threat to contact the property ombudsman that they fired the contractor (after hinting it was not just our property that was being entered unlawfully). It just seems like the staff themselves are quite overloaded with all the tasks they’ve been set, and thus the quality of Enfields service is sacrificed to serve the large amount of customers they take on every year. I wish the company the best and have no ill will, but as a student I cannot in good faith recommend this company to my peers.

For all students seeking house-shares, I’d be doing a disservice by staying silent about this estate agency. They made our university experience miserable for nearly a year. When we moved in, the flat was unliveable. It smelled of damp and cigarettes, with burns and stains all over the carpet and walls. Several light fixtures didn’t work, the shower door was removed, and the list of issues goes on. I had to move out immediately and stay in an Airbnb, as it was impossible to live there. I promptly emailed the agency with photos, asking for repairs within a week and some compensation. I received slow responses, and when I had to move back in due to starting a new job, the flat was still in disrepair. They replaced some carpets and did a poor job on the rest, ignoring most of the issues I raised. They seemed unconcerned for our safety, whether it was the landlord or the agency. When they did respond, they defended the landlord as a “lovely person,” but that did nothing to improve our living conditions. We were forced to live in a vermin-infested flat. To their credit, they sent pest control several times, but even the pest control company mentioned that Enfields had a reputation for not getting landlords to pay for necessary repairs. They informed us that the pest problem was ongoing and that we weren’t told before signing the lease. Had we known, we would not have moved in. This wasn’t the only time we were warned about the agency. When we had a faulty boiler that made loud noises, we contacted the company Enfields recommended for out-of-hours issues. The company informed us they wouldn’t come out unless it was an emergency because Enfields couldn’t get their landlords to pay. The boiler was only “fixed” near the end of our tenancy when the landlord decided to sell the flat. Ironically, the plumber had previously claimed there was nothing wrong, despite the pressure gauge being at zero. This resulted in a high gas bill for us. Throughout the tenancy, the agency did just enough so we couldn’t say nothing was being done, but they never fully fixed or apologized for the issues. Yet, they repeatedly assured us that our landlord was a lovely man, as if that excused their incompetence. When we moved out, in what I can only assume was a poor attempt at humour, they attempted to claim over £700 from our deposit, despite the fact that one of the bedrooms had such severe damp and mold that I had to throw away clothes and an expensive mattress topper. At first, they admitted the damp issue, so we bought a dehumidifier and requested compensation. They asked for the receipt and promised to reimburse us but never did. Later, they sent an agent who claimed there was no smell. This baffled us, especially when their post-inventory noted that the room smelled strongly of mildew, damp, and mold. But, nevertheless, our landlord was apparently a lovely man, so I guess that is a justifiable resolution to the 11 months & two weeks of incompetency. We left the flat smarter and more cautious about renting. I now warn everyone I know who is looking to rent or buy. If Enfields ever responds to this review (which would be a miracle), please note that I have records of all communication, photos, and even testimonies from the previous tenants. I’m more than happy to sit down and discuss everything with them. Enfields and the mysterious landlord, have the day you deserve.

I called to ask some details about agency. Firstly I spoke to a trainee member of staff. They asked many questions but when I asked what their commission rate was they refused to discuss. Was passed to another member of staff who was very rude and suggested I went elsewhere. You just lost a potential sale !!!!
Good morning, My staff are highly trained with many years experience. They ask numerous questions so we can ensure we deliver the best possible experience to our clients. The fees are discussed at the appointment along with our highly rated service which is appropriate and ensures that our clients fully understand what they are paying for. I would also like to comment that our staff will not tolerate rude and hostile behavior regardless of how frustrated you might be. regards Chris Heaps (Managing Director)

If you ever wondered what it might feel like to communicate via smoke signals across the Atlantic, may I introduce you to Enfields Bournemouth. Their communication skills make carrier pigeons seem cutting-edge, and they approach urgent repairs with the urgency of a snail considering a marathon, particularly when our house became a miniature Niagara Falls for over 7 months. Leaking ceilings? Ah, just part of the ambiance, apparently! As for deposit returns, well... ever played Monopoly and landed on “Go to Jail” for the tenth time in a row? That sinking, unjust feeling sums it up. Enfields seems to think they’ve entered the high art of creative writing when it comes to making up reasons to keep as much of your deposit as possible. Want to be charged for wear and tear? Or maybe you fancy some unsubstantiated cleaning fees? They've got you covered. What really stings is after chatting with friends who rented through literally *any* other agency, they had zero of these problems. Responsive agents, honest communication, and *actual* repairs, what a concept! To sum it up, renting with Enfields is like trying to have a coherent conversation with a wall, you end up with nothing but frustration. But hey, if you’re after a lesson in patience, or need an excuse to buy a bucket for your living room, look no further! Honestly, in all seriousness, save yourself the time and hassle and go with anyone else. Especially if you are a student, you will be at the bottom of their priority list.

STUDENTS DON’T RENT HERE💥 Enfield’s are known for being awful to their student tenants. Last year we were given a contract to sign that was £600pcm only for them to phone a month later and change the rent to £1000pcm because they ‘read the wrong advert.’ The agent who showed me the property, proceeded to lie over the phone and tell me she definitely told me it was £1000 despite pictures, notes and messages proving otherwise. They also then revealed that despite saying the contract had been completed by all parties, the landlord had never signed it and so it wasn’t a valid contract and therefore we couldn’t challenge it. It’s come to my attention that numerous of my peers have been falsely advertised too, being sold completely different properties and moving in to something entirely different. If you are a student, don’t rent via them, there are far nicer companies in bournemouth who care about student wellbeing.
