GoogleAugust 2018 Very Disappointing! On their website it is claimed: “Phil’s enthusiasm and passion for exemplary customer service has built him a solid reputation and repeat clients.” I am afraid to say our experience was very different. Let me hasten to say at the outset that I am well aware that the housing market is very sluggish right now and my complaint is not about Davis Tate’s failure to sell our property. After our first meeting I was very hopeful, as Phil seemed to be living up to his reputation for providing enthusiastic customer service and we agreed to give him sole agency for four weeks. After we had approved the photographs, it was nearly a week before anything appeared online. (With our new agents it took just a couple of hours.) It took another three weeks before our house featured on the advertisement board at the Davis Tate offices in Abingdon. At our initial meeting, we asked, and Phil agreed, to leave a business card each time he brought clients to the house. Not once did this happen. He did bring clients around on a number of occasions but, unless we phoned him and asked, we were never offered any feedback. We had no idea what potential buyers did or did not like. Just as the 4 week sole agency was about to expire, Phil telephoned to ask if he could bring clients around the following Saturday. Naturally we agreed. The same thing happened the following week, so again we agreed. At this point we were about to go on holiday for 3 weeks so it was not feasible to bring other estate agents on board at that stage. After deciding to reduce the asking price to expedite the sale, my husband went in to see Phil. At this meeting he enquired why no ‘For Sale’ signs had been erected at our property. Phil claimed he hadn’t realised this was the case which, in my view, is unacceptable, it is part of the service one expects and he did have one made within a couple of days. After returning from holiday, my husband emailed Phil to inform him that we were revoking his sole agency which by this time had lasted for 10 rather than 4 weeks. He did not have the courtesy to respond. Within 48 hours of that email however, our online adverts had been removed and our ‘For Sale’ notice had been removed from the Davis Tate window; in that regard he was very quick and efficient. So, for all these reasons my advice would be to go elsewhere if you are serious about getting good service and selling your house.
I am extremely disappointed that you have been dissatisfied with the service that you have experienced. My husband and I couldn't be happier with the help, advice and speed in which Phil has dealt with our complicated house sale. From the initial consultation and valuation; his professional photographer worthy photos of our property; to his cheerful, positive manner; all the way through to exchange. (Our house in fact selling within 24 hours) He did what he said, when he said he would; kept us informed; going above and beyond on several occasions. He has been exceptional on all levels. Taking the time to explain things in detail and make sure we were happy every step of the way. He has made what could have been a very stressful situation (myself also being 6 months pregnant) easy, straightforward and handled it in such a way that I have had the utmost confidence in him and his capabilities as our agent from start to finish. I have found his support these last few months unwavering. It's nice to know there's still some genuine, honest, helpful people around. Phil is definitely one of the good guys!

GoogleI was recommended the Davis Tate Financial advisor Chris Pledge to deal with my sons complicated mortgage arrangements and not disappointed... He not only did a house visit Friday night but dealt with the paperwork in the office Sunday morning. He certainly shows how proficient he is in a relaxed confident manner. The 5 year offer was eventually finalised and a wonderful deal after all his hard work. Well recommended Emily Thompson. Thanks again.

GoogleWe had excellent service from the Sonning Common and the Goring Office. The marketing and selling of the house was efficient and effective. The real value of the service came later when the staff, and in particular Julie Norman at the Sonning Common office, spent a lot of time and effort monitoring the progress of the houses in the chain towards exchange, "encouraging" them to keep moving forward, and keeping us informed.

We have recently completed on the sale of the property in Pangbourne. Throughout the process, from the initial meeting, through to the final handover, I felt that we had the full attention of Richard and the rest of the Davis Tate team in Pangbourne. They provided excellent levels of communication on all aspects of the sale, from the initial paperwork through to the offers that they had received and continued to provide updates advise as to how the the rest of the chain was firming up, and acted in a very professionally manner throughout the sales process. All in all I would have no hesitation to recommend an engagement with Davis Tate Pangbourne.
