Amazing experience at brown and merry Chesham. Used chancellors previously and didn’t have the best experience then moved over to brown and Merry and couldn’t have made a better choice. The service provided by Ben (the in-house Mortgage Consultant) was absolutely outstanding. All kept us informed & updated every step of the way, as well as offering some valuable guidance & advice. We had a lot on our plate during the process as we were dealing with both illness and bereavement in the family at the same time...so having such an understanding, helpful & supportive team was invaluable as it took a lot of pressure off us in what was already a very difficult period. Beware of false information that they tell you and ask to read the contract for a property before you commit to paying any survey fees. They might tell you that pets are allowed in a leasehold property and then after you have payed the survey fee you discover that they are not allowed. They will then say something like "Well others who live there have pets so it'll be okay". However you are still going to be in breach of the contract. Then when you pull out of the sale they refuse to provide a refund of your survey fee because what they told you about pets being okay was not in writing. So their lies have cost you a hefty survey fee. I would avoid these cowboys like the plague and always ask for confirmation (IN WRITING) from any estate agent about specific things that you may want to bring (such as pets).

My house move was not an easy one, nor was it short or uncomplicated. All thay said, Brown and Merry did an excellent job in looking after me throughout the process to make it as painless as possible, going above and beyond in many instances to get the paperwork through and of course chase everyone that needs chasing. Anyone that has moved before will appreciate that a house sale/purchase is a stressful experience, however Alice took the time to keep me updated, offered advice and took the time to get to know me and keep me positive from start to finish. I went to brown and merry to see Alex Clifford, one of the mortgage advisors based at this office. As a first time buyer I had very little idea of what I needed to do to get myself onto the property ladder. Luckily, Alex was more than willing to give us all the answers even before we asked the questions. Not only this, but Alex explained how the mortgage lenders work and used his vast knowledge to ensure we got the best deal at a rate we could afford. I would highly recommend using Alex Clifford, he is at the top of his game and a great guy to go with it.
