GoogleAVOID AT ALL COSTS! For background context I have multiple illnesses that cause me excruciating pain and mobility issues, I am a vulnerable person during this current time. Lockdown happened and my health issues got worse as a result of the stress of uni and the poor behaviour of my housemates breaking the law and having parties in the property. There is a high amount of damp and mould in the property which is a health risk in itself. I removed myself from the property so that I am safe and my debilitating health issues can be managed in a safe environment. When informing the landlord and estate agent of this not only did the landlord handle the situation in a very unprofessional manner, I have been left with the task of finding someone to replace me in the property, during a pandemic! Also with 0 help from the estate agent or the landlord and still having to pay the outrageous rent price for somewhere I am not able to live in. I have to work a full time job whilst suffering agonising pain from my health issues to afford this property. Which is having a detrimental effect on my health and mental health. Even after informing the landlord about this issue he didn’t seem to care. Only cares that the rent is paid and no degree of care for the tenants. Once my tenancy finally ends I will never use this estate agent in the future, I cannot trust their treatment of tenants. I implore everyone to avoid.NegativeQuality, Professionalism, Value

Dear Imogen,
Firstly, we are sorry to hear about the impact of your illness and we understand at anytime this is challenging, let alone during this pandemic. We are also sorry to hear your sharers put you at greater risk. To clarify, I believe you came to our agency as a group and you knew the people you were sharing with. As your tenancy was set up for a fixed 12-month agreement, and in line with the contract terms signed at the start of the tenancy, it is the tenant's responsibility to find a suitable replacement if they wish to be removed from the lease. Bourne were instructed on a Let Only basis for this landlord, meaning we were unfortunately unable to get involved with rent or management matters, as the landlord chose to deal with this directly themselves. We do, however, have a duty of care to our tenants, which we take very seriously. The advice we provided to you at the time of your initial enquiries was correct, i.e. the need to find a suitable replacement in line with the contract, although we appreciate 2020 provided unexpected challenges in doing so.
As mentioned above, I am sorry to hear of your situation and the fact your sharers forced you to move out of the property. We always try to do our best by all parties and are sorry you felt our advice was limited for your specific situation. We wish you well in the future.

GoogleWhile the Agency provided for a good viewing experience of the properties, they were unprofessional and biased in their dealings between landlord and tenants. The agency did not defend the tenants rights and rarely upheld its role of tertiary party. This manifested particularly in the form of the agency ignoring breaches of contract done by landlords (landlord entering the premises without notice and readjusting the furniture to her liking whilst also going through multiple bedrooms/closets). If your tenants rights are to be upheld, as a former tenant, I do not suggest hiring the services of this agency.NegativeProfessionalism
