GoogleI highly recommend John D Wood to anyone looking to sell or let their property. We recently purchased a property through Zoe Thomas in the sales team. She was by far the best estate agent we dealt with, she was so helpful and so on the ball compared to other agents we were looking through. We completely trusted Zoe. We later dealt with her manager Jessica who was also brilliant, she introduced us to the lettings department who valued the property we were purchasing for lettings. We signed up for the managed service and Lucy Fox the lettings negotiator let the property for the asking price a week after we completed the purchase! Will was always attentive, answering all my questions (no matter how silly or small) and kept me updated at every stage, prompting me to take action when needed. My full property purchase took 2 months and it was made so much easier due to the team at JDW. Can’t thank them enough for all the support they provided me with, whether it was getting in contact with the vendor themselves to answer questions about where things like the fuse box were or chasing solicitors to get my purchase through before the stamp duty holiday ended. From the initial consultation with Daniel assuring us that their approach would have an offer within a month, to the superb marketing material and then the carefully planned viewings with Annie, Celia and Wei. The offer amazingly did come in within the month, kindly relayed by Celia on a Bank Holiday and the efficiency since then has been overwhelmingly reassuring. GoogleSo basically the new strategy that lettings agents advise and probably convince landlord to go by is: 1. List the propriety for a lower price to generate interest 2. Tell people that make offers that someone has already offered the asking price so that they can start a bidding war and drive the price up 3. Play new tenants into paying more for the actual propriety. Very nice. If you hear them saying that someone has already offered the asking price know that they were never looking to accept the asking price and just make you take part in their bidding war which means they are a very sleazy agency and you definitely don't want to be conned by them! Be smart. I hope this review helps some people realize what has become of the lettings market. Shame on you letting agents.
