From start to finish, the whole team at Countrywide have been incredible. We were starting to lose hope at buying a property after having issues with 2 previous mortgage advisors, however, from the second we began the process with them, they were all super helpful and every step of the process was made clear to us, helping out our minds at ease as first time buyers. Our initial meeting with Declan was on the Friday, and by the following Tuesday we had found, viewed and made an offer on our dream house all thanks to the team. I have rented a house via Countrywide/ Slater Hogg & Howison for close to 6 years now. Over this time there's been certain repairs needing attention ie damp and black mould. I have kept this house in great condition but the issues date back before I moved in. On countless occasions, mainly from 2021-2024 I have been trying to get these fixed with no joy. I've made so many complaints and have complained to the Property Ombudsman. I am heavily pregnant with my first baby due in June and Countrywide have been aware of this since at least the start of the year, I was trying to get them to fix the issues before June when baby is due as stated in emails to them. My husband contacted them to get an update on the repairs on 29th April, they said the landlord 'was trying to get to the root of the problem with the damp and black mould'. I started Maternity leave on 30th April and that same day Sheriffs Officers came to my door to issue an evicition notice under the grounds the landlord 'intends' to sell in July!! No warning inadvance at all and such a brutal way to treat us, we'd always paid rent on time, kept house amazing. We can see an email attached to the evicition notice dated 11th April from Shona McCulloch of the Countrywide/ Slater Hogg & Howison to say she 'would be delighted' to help sell the property when the landlord is ready. My baby is due in June and they are delighted to make a newborn baby homeless. This is a revenge evicition because I've been asking to get all the repairs done and i have all the years of proof. It's so unbelievably stressful to be going through this. I do not recommend Countrywide because they are extremely cruel.

I had a really positive experience using Countrywide West End to rent out my flat and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to do the same. I always felt they were giving me sound advice from years of experience in the business and brought up useful points that I wouldn’t have thought of myself. They also ran a very personalised service. Yasmin worked hard to find the correct tenants for me and my flat, there was no pressure to accept tenants quickly, and I always felt they gave me honest and insightful feedback after each viewing. Yasmin went the extra mile, even removing some leftover boxes from the previous tenants so that I didn’t have to come and do that myself from Inverness! Their communication by phone and email was excellent and I really appreciated that I was always kept in mind and in the loop. It was very convenient that I could communicate with them via WhatsApp because I don’t have a good phone signal where I work.
