TrustpilotAvoid renting office with Spaces
Big trouble with the offices in Helsinki, Bulevardi: huge noise related to the works. I have patiently accepted this nuisance from the beginning. Today I am asking for the contract to be terminated earlier than planned, for justified and contractually agreed reasons. Answer: Sorry, you're going to have to pay for another year. What kind of hypocritical company is this?If I have one piece of advice for you: never rent an office from them, even if they make themselves look "cool". Especially if you are a freelancer or a small company. Obviously many clients around the world share this opinion. It's really one of the worst companies I've ever had to sign a contract with.Update (after numerous exchanges): 1 - The only answer they give is always the same. You have signed a contract for one year, you have to pay, even if you can no longer do so or if you no longer use the offices. They will not be offered any arrangement. Then why offer to talk? 2 - Spaces, on the other hand, does not hesitate to rent office space in a building undergoing complete renovation. I accepted this nuisance with full knowledge of the facts - but the minimum would have been to have the same conciliatory attitude.3 - The offices in Helsinki are almost empty (and there are fewer and fewer customers), but nevertheless they make it look like there is a waiting list! Explanation: they do their utmost to block naive clients in long-term contracts and, if they can no longer use them, prefer to leave them empty rather than look for new tenants. As a result, in my experience over 6 months, less than 50% of the offices were actually occupied.4 - It is not true that a long-term rental brings a discount. The monthly rent I pay for 12 months is more expensive than the rent I paid for 6 months. I didn't notice this when I signed, so obscure and misleading is their procedure.

Hi Christophe,The refurbishment works that occurred in your building were a result of an exterior company, not Spaces but they are now completed. We are sorry that they may have caused disruption to you.Your local team worked hard to ensure they were only undertaken outside of working hours and offered the option for customers to temporarily relocate if they preferred. As you were not in the centre often, they were unable to share this with you.Your current agreement will expire on 31 May 2021 and includes a discounted monthly rate. Please understand that advanced warning is necessary should you wish to end an agreement with us. We will still be happy to help discuss alternative options with you. Please contact us back so we can continue to assist.Thank you.Regards, Sandra Melody Head of Customer Services

TrustpilotDO NOT USE - TERRIBLE and UNPLEASANT
A TERRIBLE & UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCEWe had an office start date of 1 April, with a one month notice period. Due to lockdown, the start date was rolled forward to 1 July.We have no use now for the office and gave our notice before the start date.HOWEVER BE WARNED!!!!! When we terminated before even commencing- We are still being charged for restoration, painting and carpet cleaning, of the office even though we are not moving in.- We are being charged for Business Forwarding Services, even though we are not moving - We are being charged set up fees for 3 individuals even though no one is being set upAnd we are being charged late payment fees!My advice is DO NOT USE this company or associated companies!!!

TrustpilotI don’t know where to start really
I don’t know where to start really, can’t speak to Customer Service on the phone but sales calls are still maned by real people? As I understand it so many of spaces staff have been furloughed but their clients are expected to pay even if they have lost their jobs/taken pay cuts. I’m speechless really, my husband feels so depressed and stressed and Spaces don’t seem to care. He signed for 6 months and only got to use it for 3 weeks before the pandemic.

TrustpilotAvoid Spaces co-working at all costs
Avoid Spaces co-working at all costs! (I feel terrible writing this because I love the team in the centre but this company is horrible.) They put you through hell trying to resolve an overcharges from their own mistakes. Accounts will bill you erroneously, ignore emails showing proof of agreements (making you send them over and over again), send threatening emails and when they FINALLY acknowledge their errors they continue to mess customers around for weeks on end before making it right. They should remove "help" from the accounts helpdesk title.

TrustpilotBitterly disappointing experience
Bitterly disappointing experience. We signed up to the new office in Bath for a year - nice environment, but shockingly run & the central admin and accounting function is atrocious. Faceless, lacking in any sense of Customer Service - typifies the comical "Computer says No" stereotype.Would strongly urge anyone considering signing up with them to seek out other tenants of the building and ask for an honest view.Just look at all the reviews - it beggars belief that this company is still in business - truly awful

TrustpilotI agree with these poor reviews. If you're thinking about using them - don't!
Oh my! You can see and hear the pain in these reviews. If I could give 0 stars I certainly would. My experience has been so similar to others. I see the customer service responses to previous complaints and it represents what we have experienced too. The responses seem out of touch, inflexible and unhelpful. It feels as though the company has forgotten what it was designed to do and its practices exist only to create systems that take money, provide poor service and are truly inflexible - despite what customer services claim. It is such a shame.I certainly would never have anything to do with IWG/Regus/spaces ever again, and I can only hope that masses more do the same - this may prompt them to re-think how they operate. And if you are thinking of taking out a workspace there I strongly advise you to look elsewhere for your own sanity!

TrustpilotAbsolutely terrible company
Absolutely terrible company. As many have pointed out they are very very happy to upgrade you at any opportunity as you grow. But the moment COVID hit they have offered no help at all. First of all the office was closed. They still charged full rent. Then they furloughed all of their staff (including most of the helpdesk people etc). Still charged us full rent. Then they said have 50% education over two months. Thats nice! But wait, you have to extend for another 3 months, on full contract. So they basically used the crisis to make money. Finally they said you can downgrade. But you need to sign up for a contract length that honours the full amount we were supposed to pay. So basically not helping at all. STAY CLEAR of them. Terrible customer service, no loyalty.

Hi Jake,I am sorry to learn that you feel disappointed. Please note that all of our centres and Account Helpdesk team have remained fully available throughout this crisis. They have worked hard to help all customers including sharing our carefully designed offers. I can see your team had this applied on 4 April 2020.This offer was designed to help provide the maximum benefit per customer whilst also ensuring the sustainability of our own business so that we will be here to support you in our normal capacity as we come out of this crisis.Your current agreement expires on 31 October 2021 and represents a formal, business commitment. To the contrary to your post, we do offer flexibility and have already contacted your team to discuss your next available options. I appreciate your cooperation and am confident we can reach a resolution together. Thank you.Sandra Melody Head of Customer Services

Samuel,We attempted to assist you upon your previous posts in which you declined further support from us.Your local team has informed us that no complaints such as injuries have been reported. If you have evidence that you raised this with the local team or wish to raise it now, once again, please share this with me so I can ensure this is addressed for you. Moreover, we have had complaints raised by other customers relating to your behaviour when in the centre. As already addressed with you directly, we expect that customers act professionally, politely, and in consideration for others by maintaining a clean working area after having been used and working within your allocated area only.More action has been taken to help you than what is insinuated above but this is not the place to appropriately address your concerns so we have contacted you once again. Please contact me directly at sandra.melody@regus.com and we will continue to help.Thank you.Best regards,Sandra MelodyHead of Customer Services

TrustpilotDishonest and unprofessional - Don't rent at Spaces!
The most dishonest and unprofessional co-working space imaginable. Staff keeps changing so there is no history of what has been agreed to. We decided to leave before our contract ended because of construction noise and general dissatisfaction with the lack of flexibility and understanding from the staff. They refused to be understanding around letting us out of the contract, but then rented out our room (that we were still paying for!) to another company without telling us. We (Rokoko - motion capture company) still to this day have not received any explanation or return of our deposit and they will not answer our emails. Don't rent there!Addition after seeing reply from Sandra Melody:First of all, I tried replying to the email address you provided (sending the entire correspondence I had with your team) and the email address you provide does not seem to exist. Your answer is (maybe purposefully) not matching what I wrote: We did NOT break the agreement. We paid for all months, even after we removed all our things from the space. We then noticed (because we one day came by unannounced) that you had let another company move into our office, without asking us and while we were still paying. I assume you were collecting rent from them too. And even after all that, you did not return our deposit and I'm now unable to get an email response from you. Does all this sound fair to you? Please check with Adrian Boone and Mark Torrocha from your team to verify all this. I have emails confirming that I'd be happy to send to you. They can also provide you with my email if you want to get in touch. I'd be more than happy to discuss!

Hi Jakob, At Spaces we pride ourselves on our transparency and professionalism and make sure that our employees are up to this standard. Hearing that our business partner would leave without letting us try to remedy the situation first, came as a surprise to me. When we have upgrades or enhancements to our buildings, we try to accommodate our customers the best way possible for you to be able to continue your business practices and Have a Great Day at Work! Simply because you vacated your office it neither negates you nor releases you from your service agreement. Retainers are refunded 30 days after the last date on your service agreement. As a matter of principal, we don’t return deposits on broken agreements. You are also welcomed to discuss these situations directly your Community Manager, who is to help you get the most out of your office environment and your community. Should there be anything further I can assist you with, then please do not hesitate to contact me at sandra.melody@spaceworks.com. Regards, Sandra Melody Head of Customer Services

GoogleThe office spaces are light, airy and pleasant but the toilets here are disgusting. One urinal has been left blocked for days now, filled with youcanguesswhat. They commonly run out of soap and the sinks are poorly designed so they overflow and leak water everywhere, making it dangerous to use them

GoogleAwful awful shared offices. Bathrooms absolutely disgusting 99% of the time, the lifts NEVER work, at least 2 out of the 4 are always out of order and the others are very slow. Staff on the door completely useless and totally unhelpful. Seem to crank up the heating in the summer and blast air con in winter, making it very very uncomfortable to work there. We had mice in our office for a year and Regus did nothing to catch them. Post would get lost.

GoogleBy far the worst office I’ve worked at. It’s become a game within the team to guess what new problem will emerge. We’ve had blocked urinals, front doors without handles, lift out of service, a plague of flies in our kitchen, frigid temperatures, and the list goes on. We thought about requesting nice-to-haves like decent bike parking and showers, but it’s pointless with the level of concern Regus has for maintaining quality office space. They’re converting a floor to “Spaces” but this will fail dismally when the casual workers quickly discover the state of the facilities.

GooglePoorly maintained office by Regus. Toilets were constantly out of order (sinks and toilets clogged) same as for sinks until life spring into life in them. Really disgusting. Often no soap or toilet paper.
Then during refurbishment there was no toilets on the floor for couple of months as well as no shower in entire building.
Cycling shed is constantly blocked with containers or the street by trucks.
Office quite often either too hot or so cold that everyone wears jackets and gloves.
Fire alarms so inconsistent and triggered by constructors, so we had to ignore them even if they go off... until real fire happens and no one will evacuate. Not a single training on fire evacuation in 6 months.
If you want your employees to be very unhappy then this is the place for you!

I chose to disregard the bad reviews on here when I signed up for a Spaces Global Coworking membership in January. My mistake. They're one of the few companies with a global presence, which met my needs (I travel a lot).I visited London, Brighton, Barcelona, Sydney and Melbourne. Generally, the staff are friendly, and the spaces are all fairly similar and of good quality. I would have considered myself pretty happy with their service. Some of the locations are busier than others, the internet is usually pretty good.Unfortunately, I had the poor timing of signing a 1 yr contract right before a global pandemic. Despite the fact that everyone has been in lockdown and encouraged not to leave the house Spaces has been impossible to deal with. They've been impossible to pin down on suspending the membership while the lockdowns are on. When I finally did get something, they've got "generous" offers of 2 months of "relief" for 6 months of contract extension. So no, I don't think I will be continuing with Spaces. I've cancelled my membership and they can forget me ever dealing with them as a company again. Yes, they'll get another several thousand out of me, but HOW much will they lose with all the people I will tell.Update: Suspending the membership for 2 months costs 6 months of extra commitment is not a subsidy. Worse still it was at a time when we were not supposed to be going out, so you're claiming benefit to the customer that just doesn't exist. The support responses with form letters saying "many customers just like you have been happy to use [the offers]" is quite unlikely to be true. Form letters only get created when the opposite is true. Given that I've received that exact sentence more than once tells me everything I need to know. For the record, I have emailed directly and have not received a response. I get that that line is just from the textbook of blunting negative feedback. Also worth mentioning, if you do want to use the coworking space in the UK now you'll need to wear a mask for the whole time.

We want to provide the maximum benefit per customer whilst also ensuring the sustainability of our own business, so that we will be here to support you in our normal capacity as we come out of this crisis.I understand that you have decided not to take any of our offers and that is absolutely your right.
