Spaces Via Pola: super staff in a beautiful location!
Great experience thanks to the excellent customer service provided by the team on site: always ready to help and with a smile! The building is located in a beautiful area.I did not give a 5 star rating because I do not find the same level of customer service when interfacing with other speakers who are not part of the centre team.

Efficiency first
1. Follow up is very efficient. 2. Flexibility of offering based on needs is great. 3. Working through an app make the experience a lot easier.

A company that doesn't care about its clients
After 5 years in Spaces in Brooklyn, we were all notified the office was shutting down and we had to be out in 2 weeks.Alternative space - at the same rent - was offered in the inferior nearby Regus office. Then, today, they suddenly shortened the notice to ONE WEEK.Yeah, their license agreement technically gives them the right to do this. However, who on earth treats clients like this?!Moreover, they knew that this building had been sold and they would have to close the office for at least 3 months. But, rather than give everyone advance warning, so they could make arrangements, they were hoping to spring it on us so we'd have little choice but to take them up on the offer to move - that way, they'd lose fewer tenants than if we had fair notice.Seriously, go find a local coworking office where you can talk with the owners, who care about you and their own reputation in the business world.
Hi Jonathan,We apologise for any inconvenience you’ve experienced following the closure of the Spaces Centre in Brooklyn, New York. A centre closure can be a frustrating experience for customers and it’s something we try to avoid wherever possible. We understand that you'd have appreciated greater notice. Unfortunately, on this occasion, we were unable to provide it, but I will make the relevant enquiries and take steps to prevent the situation from happening again. Whilst moving is not something you were planning on doing, we often find that leveraging the vast amount of workspace that we manage in Brooklyn, New York can help us locate an even better workplace for your needs. I have coordinated this with your centre who will contact you to discuss further on this matter.Kind regards,Lorraine Brule Global Customer Service at Spaces

All the 1 star reviews on here as…
All the 1 star reviews on here as exactly what I've experienced. There are too many issues to mention without sounding petty! Here are some of the main problems we experienced:We wanted to leave Spaces after the first week due to mis-selling on phone signal in the building which was crucial to our business.Poor phone signalNobody calls you back after repeated requests.Emails are responded to (not inappropriate timely manner) often from someone in a different time zone.Complaints are handled poorly.Sales representative who sold the Space in the first instance not interested and never called back. No tea/coffee provided as promised.Charged excessively at end of 6 months lease for bring the room back to standard cost of over £400. We didn't do anything to the room. Nobody checked it. This happens automatically. No retainer/deposit returned even although we gave notice in April 2024.When you email Spaces you get an automated reply saying they don't recognise the email address. There are no phone numbers to call to get retainer deposit back.Others in the building had similar complaints to most of the above when we moved inStaff at the centre don't seem happy with 'head office' or their managers lack of care . They are not supported.Avoid at all costs. You'll be ripped off and the customer care and service is the worst I've experienced.
Hi Yvonne, I’m sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction.Whilst the mobile phone coverage of the various service providers is beyond our control your centre team offered to move you elsewhere in the centre or to another nearby centre and you declined the offers. I can only apologise if the speed of our responses has not met your expectations. Your centre team have been in regular contact with you throughout your time with us and you have also been assisted by our Account Helpdesk as well as previous contact from my team. Emails to the account helpdesk will be retuned as undelivered unless there is an active query; to log such a query you can do so from the ‘Help’ section of your online account. As part of our customer policy, we provide coffee and tea service with a monthly fee and this service comes with quality teas, coffee, milk, sugar, glassware and cutlery to all customers that they can enjoy along with their guests. This is an optional service and was credited back to your account when you brought it to our attention previously. We provide our restoration service for all customers to save time and money, along with the frustration of dealing with multiple outside vendors such as IT & phone technicians. When you moved into your office, we ensured it was all in working order and ready for use. We do the same with each customer and this service is part of your agreement. On behalf of your Community team, I’d like to extend a full apology if this wasn’t explained to you.We fully understand the importance of receiving your refund promptly and have taken measures to make the refund process as smooth as possible for our customers. Our aim is to ensure deposit refunds are processed 30 days after your agreement end date or request date (whichever is later). It’s an automated process. However, we ask you to go through some security steps as part of our fraud-prevention policy. Due to an unforeseen issue with your payment, it will have to be rerun which has caused this delay. Again, we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused. Once we reprocess your refund you will receive a correspondence confirming the payment date.Kind regards,Michelle Spire Assistant Global Customer Service at Spaces

Terrible
Terrible talking to Agent Noreen. The rudeness and lack of professionalism is ridiculous. She shouldn't be working in a customer facing role if she thinks she can talk so rudely to clients. Serious training and supervision is required. Cant recommend her or SAB to anyone.
We take all feedback regarding standards of service seriously however we are unable to match the name to any records to enable an investigation or determine a reply. We would welcome direct contact regarding the matter to enable us to do so and should you be agreeable, please send this to: Donna Jacobo, Director of SAB Estate Management Donna@sab.co.uk

Availability and access to my Space 24/7 is so necessary to work with my schedule. Being able to have packages shipped to that address is a BIG bonus for me. Staff - amazing!!!

I Love Working at this Co-Working Space
Spaces is a professional, organized and well-thought out co-working space. I'm always pleased to work there and find the staff to be very helpful. I can get so much done at Spaces being surrounded by others. To top it off the view at the Emeryville office is beautiful; there is a view of the Bay that is fabulous!

Exceptioal experience
Upon entering Spaces, my initial vision was limited. However, after interacting with Adam, I left with a newfound determination to never confine myself again. Adam's exceptional service led me to a stunning office space that I am eager to share with guests. Jess and Ty, the faces of the building, are truly remarkable individuals to collaborate with. I am honored to be a part of the Spaces Family.

Stay away
Unfortunately my experience has been really bad. I took out a contract with a Spaces office on my arrival in Spain (I am not mentioning which, it is up to Spaces to contact me, as this may not be a specific issue at the particular site). Immediately i signed i discovered there was an issue with the aircon in the office so I had to work from another one for nearly 4 weeks. Then when I moved into my actual office there were fashion shoots going on around me and my office has three glass sides. I got asked on a call with the FDA what was all the flashing which was going off every few seconds for well over an hour - it was just utterly embarrassing. So then they said I could move, but no real apology for fact i had not had my own office for 2 months at that point - in fact no apology at all. And could only move to a more expensive office I would not have chosen. So I moved office but also (as had always been the plan) i changed the contract from overseas entity to the Spanish entity. I sat with the staff at the office and did what they said - signed new contract, changed email address, added new bank card. Indeed i paid with new bank card and made sure up to date. Well, unbeknown to me that was not correct - and I did not see that Spaces returned money to me a few days later because they were getting confused between the 2 legal entities. Then I start getting notices that i am going to lose access to the centre - obviously I think this is the old company (because they are emailing me on overseas company email address and still do despite being told repeatedly not to) so took no notice. Nope. Spaces had another account, for the Spanish SL but were not using the Spanish entity email provided in system, nor sending me invoices. Nor could i see that these bills needed paying on the account i went into using the Spanish SL email address - because they had linked it to overseas entity and somehow set up another account. This was entirely an issue with Spaces - they even had my credit card. Do they apologise? No, not at all. All they do despite me keep writing and trying to sort, is keep sending demand letters including final one today saying they are cutting me off whilst we are still trying to sort out the accounts. I have had to pay an invoice which isnt within the date of new company - because they are so confused. I have had various Regus accounts for 11 year now, and leased several offices through other companies, and never have i experienced such a shambles. But it is less the mistakes but more the fact there is no acknowledgement that its an error on their side and its inconvenient for a client- i am paying over 1000 Eur a month as a single director business and currently am working 60 hour weeks and we moved to Spain for care for my critically sick child. I do not have time for this level of mess. But also there is no escalation path and no way of discussing direct with accounts. Everything is held at local centre level so when the errors are with them there is nothing that can be done. Even if not with them, I have no way of dealing with accounts direct and telling them its a Spaces error and we are trying to sort - no choice but to pay and have to deal with in company accounts in 2 countries. I am sorry but i have to say stay away from Spanish Spaces. Edited to give reply to Lorraine below - I have logged three messages with customer care for which i got acknowledgements but no further follow up before putting message on here. I called the Spanish head office and they said they would deal with it - but they did't. I sent three further emails to them - with no reply. I can not even get my post yet pay 1200 pcm. You are in cc for an email i have just sent. We relocated to Spain because my child is critically ill. Spaces has just added so much to the stress it is unbelievable. I want to move offices or get out of contract but the Head of this Office says i can only do that by coming into the office and discussing with him in person when currently this is impossible- I feel harassed, and powerless.Edited on 1 Sept 2024 - the emails to Lorraine Brule as below get returned stating that their email system is timing out!!
Hello Eilis,I understand that you’re disappointed, and I’d like to help. At Regus the maintenance of our facilities is very important, and we can assure you of our highest standards. In the event that a customer transfers locations (including countries), their billing is updated automatically. All invoices on the previous account must be settled and then your new account will continue as designed, however, it appears that there has been an oversight or confusion. Please contact me at lorraine.brule@spacesworks.com with your company details so we can resolve your concerns. I look forward to hearing from you/Best regards, Lorraine Brule Global Customer Service at Spaces

Unless you can't find anywhere else, you should avoid this place. It may be ok if you just want a desk in an open area for a few hours but if you are a serious business, you should look elsewhere. What works? The location. Excellent location, just next to Liverpool Street Station, lots of food places nearby, easy connections. What doesn't work? Where to start... - As others have mentioned, if the lifts are working it's a minor miracle. One was out of action for over 9 months, the other 2 would take it in turns to break down and often no lifts were working. - Cleaning is a disgrace. The kitchen sinks are normally blocked, the bins are overflowing by the end of the day, the stairwells are filthy and stink of smoke because of the smokers at the fire escape - The toilets - urinals frequently overflowing, toilet seats bizarrely seem to break quite often, and here again are often in a disgusting state - Heating/cooling - no aircon for 5 weeks and counting in the peak of summer (room gets to 29 deg). Heating frequently broken in winter. - Management. Seriously, they just aren't all that bothered. I have complained frequently about the above, and despite assurances from Dan, the manager that I would get an answer on these, I have heard absolutely nothing since 27 June (almost 2 months ago at the time of writing). Incidentally, from the conversations I have with other tenants, they share very similar views. It's a pity, this place could be very pleasant. But it's let down by the team running it. No doubt I'll get a response to this review, with a reference number, but the one James got resulted in nothing at all. But that ticket was closed as resolved.

Having terminated my contract at end…
Having terminated my contract at end June 2024 they have neglected to return my 12k deposit and its now 20 August. No one to speak to, just templated emails and blanket ignoring my daily requests for information. Awful service, especially from a PLC!
Hello Edward,I’m sorry to hear you’ve had this experience. We understand how important your return of retainer is, and our standard timeline has not been met on this occasion. For this, we deeply apologise.Your refund will be processed within 30 days after your agreement end date or request date (whichever is later). We are sorry that this failed on this occasion and will ensure steps are taken to prevent this happening again.Thank you again for your feedback which will help us to improve.Best,Lorraine Brule Global Customer Service at Spaces

Disaster, avoid. Toilets dirty and broken, (pools of water on floor from urinal covered in black bin bag), lifts invariably broken, heating broken in winter, air conditioning broken in summer. Kitchen sink frequently blocked and filled with dirty disgusting foul water for days. In house Spaces team demoralised and non responsive. Cleaning not evident.

Great offices with brilliant staff!
Our business moved our head office to within the Spaces building at Chalfont Park in 2023. All our staff are very pleased with the move and love the new office space which is light, airy, clean and comfortable. All the staff at Spaces are very friendly, helpful and always willing to try their best to rectify any issues we face, the centre manager in particular is brilliant. Thank you for having us!

We had a very negative experience…
We had a very negative experience during our time with Spaces. Last fall we were given less than a week’s notice that they were closing the Spaces at 287 Park Ave S. and that we had to relocate. This was a huge inconvenience and disruption of our business. We relocated to the Spaces at 401 Park Ave S. which was unkept, basic necessities like paper towels and hand soap weren’t stocked and constantly running out, restrooms and common spaces were dirty, this location had spotty wifi, printer issues, and temperature control issues. We made staff aware of these issues many times and conditions never improved. All of these constant issues became such a disruption to our business that we moved out of this location in less than a year. We do not recommend Spaces or Regus and will not be using their office spaces in the future.
Hi Amanda,We apologize for any inconvenience you’ve experienced following the closure of your previous Spaces centre. A centre closure can be a frustrating experience for customers and it’s something we try to avoid wherever possible. We understand that you'd have appreciated greater notice. Unfortunately, on this occasion we were unable to provide it, but I will make the relevant enquiries and take steps to prevent the situation from happening again. We can assure you that the bathrooms and hallways are not unclean. Our cleaning crew works nightly to minimize any disruption to customers. Additionally, we have increased the stocking of essentials in both the bathrooms and kitchens, which took effect this month. There will no longer be a shortage of paper and soap in these areas. There was a known issue with the software on the HP Printers which meant printing could only be done with a USB stick. This issue was resolved some time ago and customers could print for free during the period of difficulty. In the past, we experienced some inconsistency with the Wi-Fi due to increased occupancy. However, we had technicians address the issue earlier this year, and it has been functioning perfectly for the last six months so your comment that the “conditions never improved” is inaccurate.Your local team is already in touch with you to answer any further questions you may have.Kind regards,Michelle Spire Assistant Global Customer Service at Spaces

SPACES
SPACES, NY 401 Park Avenue South, NY 10010It has been a week since we were forced to move out of Spaces Midtown New York, and I have to say it has been the best week ever. We had forgotten what it feels like to work from an office where everything is in good functioning order - the kitchen and bathrooms are impeccably clean, with plenty of soap and hand towels for us to clean our hands, there is no garbage in sight, hallways/corridors are all clean, no issues with HVAC - the temperature is perfect!!, the WIFI is speedy.....We sacrificed so much in our productivity by trying to work at SPACES. The crew there though pleasant on the surface, were not able to change anything for the positive. We wasted so much of our precious time over the last several months. My team mates and I actually got sick due to the extreme hot and cold. For any future renters who are thinking of joining SPACES - PLEASE THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU SIGN YOUR LEASE....And lastly, REGUS is holding our retainer as ransom. I wish there was an option for ZERO STAR, as that is what we would give Spaces for all the services they did not provide.
Hi Aamir,I’m very sorry to hear of your disappointment. In the past, we experienced some inconsistency with the Wi-Fi due to increased occupancy. However, we had technicians address the issue earlier this year, and it has been functioning perfectly for the last six months. As you haven't raised any concerns with us directly, I was surprised to see your online complaint about this. The airflow is inconsistent, and we currently lack a centralized system to control temperatures across different areas of the floor. For temperature modification, we contact an external company and changes are made as soon as possible but we are actively seeking solutions to enhance comfort for all our customers in this area.Regarding your retainer, as per the terms, your refund will be processed within 30 days after your agreement end date. As your agreement ends on 31 August 2024, I am not sure why you are stating that we are “holding our retainer as ransom” as it is not yet due.Your local team is already in touch with you to answer any further questions you may have.Kind regards,Michelle Spire Assistant Global Customer Service at Spaces

Have one team here and really have to say the lift situation (they are continuously broken for weeks at a time) is a catastrophe, as well as the cleaning (very superficial). Location and general facilities are actually decent, but these hygiene factors are just not making me excited at all about this office. With 5 different providers around 5 different countries, I at the moment sadly can not recommend the space.
Hi Tobias, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're sorry to hear you feel this way and have shared your feedback internally. You can share more feedback by raising a ticket through the Help section of your online account. Thank you.

I would give 0 stars if possible
Just wanted to say I agree with every 1 star review, and I would also give 0 stars if possible...The physical building and staff are nice but behind the scenes is a different story. My list of complaints is huge with Spaces/Regus/IWG. Each complaint being almost identical to all the ones you read here, including nefarious practice/money/poor service/contract problems/customer service etc, so there is no point me reiterating all of them, just assume they are all true...FIND AN ALTERNATIVE OFFICE SERVICE!
Hi,Regardless of the reason, I understand how frustrating it can be and apologise if we did not provide the level of service that you expect and deserve from Spaces.I would like to help resolve your concerns, but I am unable to contact you since you have posted anonymously. Please email me your account number and company details (as displayed on your invoice) at lorraine.brule@spacesworks.com so I can quickly assist you.Thank you,Lorraine BruleGlobal Customer Service at Spaces
