Right from the very start Darren could not have done any more to help me whilst buying my new home. I would 100% recommend Darren and the service that he provides and how he made me feel totally at ease and gave me regular updates throughout the whole process which really took the pressure off of such a stressful process. Nothing was too much bother and he was totally committed from start to finish.

GoogleRESPONSE: I have copies of all emails and transcripts of all our phone calls. You are lying scam artists, not on part of your reply is true. Your viewing agent replied to every question we asked with "I don't know", every time we called, Louise was "out of the office at the moment", after continuous chasing when I finally caught Louise on the phone we were told the Landlord wanted working professionals, which we are, when I told Louise this her response was that the Landlord wasn't prepared for "wear and tear" on the flat? HMO? You obviously didn't even bother to read our files? "three unrelated people"... Sorry do brothers count as unrelated people? I will personally come in to visit your office this Saturday so we can discuss further. Absolutely disgusting service. I can't believe you'd have the cheek to reply such utter lies. Once Again, please do not waste your time with this agency. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If I could rate this estate Agents 0 stars, trust me I would. The agents hang up the phone mid way through conversation and ignore your calls, until you call from a different number and they answer on the first ring... The Viewing agent couldn't answer any of our questions about the property & failed to give us any forms regarding making an offer. What a waste of time, I feel sorry for the Landlords working with this agent as they haven't a clue about their needs or requirements and leave applicants clueless and fail to make any effort to keep them informed on the progress of their offers. Absolutely disgusting service, Offensive and rude over the phone (once they finally pick up your calls...) HONESTLY. It's a real shame as they have some lovely properties available, but what a poor excuse of an estates agents. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE AGENTS YOU'L SPEND ALL YOUR TIME CHASING CALLS for " I was just about to call you now", " I was just about to reply to your email" FUNNY THAT.
We are sorry you felt the need to post a negative review. I understand that you were interested in a property we have available. We had discussed the rental with you at the viewing and at that stage you informed us that the property was for two people. We therefore emailed you two application forms. You then contacted us to state that you wanted the property for three people and asked for another application form. We explained that this property cannot have three unrelated people residing as it is not a HMO property and is not licensed. As you explained that your boyfriend works for a Letting Agent we believed you would understand this requirement. We are sorry for any confusion please contact us if you need further clarification or I would happy to contact you if required.

GoogleI write this review as a potential buyer. Made contact with Mather Marshall Saturday 19th May. Called at around 9am to enquire about a shared ownership property in Spencer Way @ £75,250. Spoke to Claudia (only works weekends she said), she didn't know much about the property but said she'd get Lisa to call back within 30 minutes as she knew more about it. By 13:30pm I hadn't heard anything so decided to call again, maybe they were exceptionally busy on Royal Wedding & FA Cup Final day, plus the sun was shining. Spoke to Claudia, who by a miracle, was just picking up the phone to call me. She gave me some more details on the property & said a viewing could be arranged sooner than she first thought. I said I was going away on holiday at the end of the next week, so sometime before Friday around my work schedule would be great. It is now Wednesday 23rd May & I am yet to hear anything - no messages left to say they've attempted to call, nothing. Now I'm not surprised since none of my details were taken apart from a name & telephone number. In days gone by, I thought it was common practise for estate agents to take all your details & fully qualify you before you view anything. Obviously business is so good these days though, they don't even need to bother calling you back, let alone take all your details. So, as a buyer I'm disappointed & will now avoid this agent because trust & confidence are massive factors when you are making the biggest investment you will perhaps ever make. Given my buying position, it makes it even worse for the seller that I've not been contacted after I made the enquiry, but clearly there are enough buyers about for this not to be an issue & I expect the property must already be sold.

GoogleWe are utterly appalled with Mather Marshall, the staff are not communicated with one another, lie to you, are arrogant, rude and unhelpful. The service we received in the 6 months with them was disgusting. Their telephone manner is terrible and their emails are petty and dim-witted (if you even get hold of anyone)! We were homeless (which they knew) they took their time to put through our paperwork and ‘misplaced it’ several times. We had to chase them countless times in a day never able to get hold of the correct member of staff, it got worse when it was coming to the end of our tenancy. Being first time renters we were unsure of our end date and what the processes were, we went to the agency and spoke to one of the staff members and was told to put it in writing. To which we did and looked to find our new property due to the end date being close. We didn’t receive a response so stopped by again and was told a different end date, our hands were tied with another property which the move in date was set. Again I chased for a response and several days later we were issued another end date via email. We are a young couple, messed around with, looked down on and totally exploited by this agency. Now left to pay for 2 properties at once which I can tell you is not cheap on our wages! All the while the staff are not interested in helping us get our deposit back faster, then suggesting out of their ‘good will’ they bring it forward (this never happened)! Yet they were more than happy to mess us around with short notice viewings, cancellations and nuisance emails not even spelling names correctly. I imagine the landlord did not know the situation or true circumstances of their tenants, as I feel they would have wanted to get 2 rent payments for the one month and not leave the property vacant for over a month. I do not blame them! In fact I feel sorry they are just as exploited by them as we are! That and they spitefully deduct money from the deposit due to us being on their case. Anyone looking to go with this agency! Please do not do it to yourself, they are only interested in money and do not look to make things easier or cheaper for you as their tenants. Do not even deserve one star! Mather Marshall please do not embarrass yourselves by writing a petty response back to this like you have with other honest reviews. We do not want to contact you or speak to you regarding this matter you are a waste of time and energy, and we know this is only for the site, not for real help regarding what we have been through. STILL PAYING FOR THIS PROPERTY TILL TODAY! BEEN OUT OF IT FOR OVER 3 MONTHS. MATHER MARSHALL ARE A SCAM! REMEMBER TO GET AN EXACT END DATE IF YOU ARE GOING WITH THIS AGENCY OR YOU WILL BE PAYING FOR IT MONTHS AFTER YOU HAVE LEFT. Dear Ronaldas Dovydovas, I understand that you are frustrated that you have had to pay rent for two properties but after reviewing your complaint I cannot find just cause for your complaint. Whilst we always try to improve our service to ensure we deliver a high standard of service we cannot be held responsible for matters outside our control. At the beginning of the tenancy you signed a Six months Assured Short Hold Tenancy Agreement. You informed us towards the end of the tenancy that you did not want to renew your tenancy and wanted to secure a smaller house. We accordingly asked you to confirm this in writing to us and we acknowledged receipt of this in writing to yourself and confirmed both your final rent payment date and your vacation date for the property along with the end of tenancy procedure. As I understand you found a new property you wanted to rent and decided to vacate earlier. Unfortunatley you are still liable for the rent payments under your exsisting contract until the end of the tenancy period. In respect to Deposit Deduction. As you are aware we use an independent checkin and checkout company. I note again on you file that you have written to agree to the deductions and agreed that you had not left the property in a similar standard minus fair wear and tear. I hope this clarifies the situation but please fell free to contact us if you would like us to clarify this in any way.

GoogleThis company are not able to accept responsibility for any mistakes caused on their end. We were not prepared for the landlords requirements. Any questions we asked during the viewing we were told “I don’t know sorry” which is forgivable as the individual only worked on weekends, however even the full time employees couldn’t provide us with any useful information to actually save us our time besides using pressure tactics to fill out the form. I made it clear that it would be my girlfriend, my elder brother and I renting the property and the manager STILL sent the form across, and now we are being blamed? Nobody deserves such a terrible service.as soon as a bad review is written it is instantly our fault? Nobody deserves such terrible service.
Sorry you feel the need to duplicate your girlfriend's complaint that we have already replied to. As you work for a Letting Agent yourself we would expect you to understand that it is our Landlords decision not to accept three young shares to rent his property. We have completed viewings promptly, sent paperwork and replied to your enquiries. However whilst we understand you are disappointed at not being able to rent the property but we would rather inform you of the Landlords wishes at this stage when you have made no financial outlay towards renting the property.

Barry is very knowledgable in the local housing market and we agreed upon a guide price and sold the property in just over a week. Honest feedback was provided for each viewing and made the process a lot less stressful than I imagined. Barry also kindly gave some great advice on a property I was very keen to buy and great news even though an open day with 35 viewings we got it. I would definitely recommend Mather Marshall to anyone looking to market their property.

Darren was more than amazing thoughtout our buying process. We are first time buyers and at times, we felt very vunerable as wasnt sure on processes. I went to Darren with lots of questions and he was always so happy to help. Darren Gilbert from Mather Marshalls Estate Agents based in Knebworth, Hertfordshire has been absolutely fantastic in selling our home. In order for our offer to be accepted on our purchase we were given seven days to sell our home and it wasn't even on the market! I called our local Independent Estate Agents (Mather Marshalls) immediately and spoke to Mr Darren Gilbert to explain the urgent situation, Darren came to our property within a couple of hours to survey and take photographs for marketing. My wife Victoria and I were extremely impressed with his attitude, in-depth knowledge and plethora of experience within the industry. Darren called a few hours later to say he had just emailed us a first draught to check all of the information was correct and we were happy (which it was and we were!) and then had our property advertised the same day on multiple platforms. Darren called the following day to say he had several viewings arranged over the next few days, he then proceeded to sell our home on day 6 and above our asking price! The expected moving dates was around 3 months from acceptance, Darren kept us fully informed all along the way of the sale and also our purchase, nudging a few solicitors to hurry up too! Darren didn't just sell our home he fully managed the sale and purchase, checking up and making sure all parties concerned were organised! Mather Marshalls of Knebworth really do care, they are not a big faceless estate agents ready to rip you off for a sub standard service., we received a personal, first class service at a very reasonable price. Darren, we cannot thank you enough or recommend you highly enough, you are a credit to the industry and the Local community in which you support so well. Thank you again!

Well, I've gotta tell you that Mather Marshall made the whole process about as stress free as it could be..Over a period of about 7 months we had 2 offers accepted on 2 properties, and although the agents dealing with both sales talked the talk, neither walked the walk. They were both keen to confirm that we were cash buyers and our bona fides were up to scratch, but not so energetic in easing the vendors' along with their bits and pieces. Consequently, we got nowhere with either property.And then I heard the sound of horse's hooves, and Darren Gilbert of Mather Marshall galloped over the horizon, heading in our direction. I thought it strange that he was dressed in shining Armour, but who am I to judge?He did his estate agent's thing without being too pushy, confirming that we were legit and easing the vendor along with a smile and a gentle nudge. He kept us informed at every stage and we completed in about 6 weeks from first viewing to taking charge of the keys.Darren is a breath of fresh air...and the house isn't bad, either.I would recommend Darren and Mather Marshall without a second's hesitation, in fact, I've already suggested that my daughter, who wants to move out this way, makes good use of Darren's expertise.
