Our experience was not a good one. We felt consistently out of the loop (at time flat out lied to- there's making a sale, and then there's flat out making things up). We did not feel supported by the agent we were working with, it was a constant struggle and always felt like they were doing us a massive favour. Every silly stereotype you've heard from estate agents you'll find to be surprisingly true in this agency. (we never thought it could be so bad until them :/) Stay away if possible, if you can't help it but deal with them; get everything in writing and know that they are not on your team.

Gordon & Co was very responsive and helpful throughout the process of finding and renting a place. However, at check-out me and my partner experienced extra charges and hidden fees (~£340 in total) and the overall process of getting some of our deposit back took two months. The charges we received included deductions for items that were broken before we moved in, an additional bill for heating and hot water (even if we paid our bills separately to our utility companies) and an extra fee for additional cleaning since the steam clean we organised "was not sufficient". Review your check-in report meticulously, report any errors and take pictures of everything - this way you are ready to dispute the expected extra charges at check-out.

DON'T WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. This is literally the worst experience I have ever had with a company. Gordon & co do have a very good service, in the beginning, they are very well with their viewings and had good customer service while I was searching for an apartment. But once we rented the apartment they have no loyalty to their tenants, LITERALLY NONE. Due to the COVID-19 virus, my friends and I were forced to move back to our home country. We paid the full amount of the rent in advance. However, Gordon & co didn't care less. We have tried to contact them so many times and tried to come up with so many solutions. But they only showed their loyalties to their Landlord. Whether this situation wasn't bad enough, they also decided to make a major deduction on our deposit. When we asked them for proof concerning these highly expensive costs, they did not respond. This letting agent should be avoided at all costs. They allowed a family of 4 to stay in a 1 bedroom flat with no sound proofing between flats. They lied about there having been no complaints previously, forgetting that they'd already told us that the family had received complaints and were on their last warning. They asked for audio recordings of the issue which were sent to them and they then claimed that they weren't able to download them from the email. They received numerous complaints from us and did nothing about it, instead threatening to evict us if the situation couldn't be resolved amicably between tenants. The issue was that the property wasn't fit to live in with no insulation at all between floors or walls, the flat above was statutorily overcrowded and that they did not want to pay to resolve the issue - which they also acknowledged through email. A contractor visited on two occasions and both times advised us to leave the property. Only when they received threat of a complaint did they take 'action' which did nothing, only the bare minimum which they knew would make no difference and were told this by a contractor, but would protect them from any formal complaint. The whole property also has considerable damp and mould issues which has been raised with us by the neighbours below, the back garden has a permanently broken metal step which we had to fix ourselves to prevent someone injuring themselves on. People will be complaining about this property for the forseeable future unless they choose to listen and do something about it, which they won't, because they don't listen and don't care and they don't seem to have half a brain between all of them.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism
