We've just completed on our first home, after a few failed attempts before due to problems with previous buildings - and the service and help we received from Chris Read was night and day vs previous estage agents from a different firm. Chris has been great throughout the process, keeping us informed, giving us advise without putting any pressure on us, knowing we were first time buyers and giving us the confidence to know we were getting through a new, unknown, stressful process with support. Chris has been the ideal agent to work with, and we couldn't have been happier having him to work with!

Chris Read from the Norbury branch helped us find our perfect home, and working with him was an absolute delight. He was a credit to the Estate Agency industry; professional, knowledgeable, friendly and punctual. In what is almost unheard of in our experience of Estate Agents, Chris wasn't pushing for a sale every minute of the visits he took us on, which made the whole experience a lot less stressful. Chris's relaxed style made us actually spend far more time with him and looking at homes he suggested, as we felt he really listended to our needs. Big issue - my property was advertised as chain free and it wasn't. As a result, I was pressured to complete and exchange when I was a first-time buyer. Don't bother using them and in particular Chris Read, who sold me my flat and Michael Frei the branch manager. They're unprofessional and treat people poorly. Chris didn't seem to know much about the flat regarding where swiches were to turn hot water on and off. He couldn't secure access to the outdoor patio for the surveyor and for the electrician. I had to chase him for the electrical report the vendors previously had done. Chris didn't know where the patio key was when I collected my keys, so neither did Michael who I collected them from. Michael then had to follow up with the vendors after completion and exchange. I complained about what had gone on, only for the branch manager to dismiss my complaint but also to accuse me of things I didn't do, like bringing mud into my flat before exchange and completion. I'm taking this up with The Property Ombudsman and Trading Standards.

I’d definitely give them zero stars if it was an option. Our property manager never once referred to us by our names- a basic courtesy she lacked. After a year of shoddy, unreliable service in a damp home, they tried to snatch over 80% of our deposit for things like replacing a hob in perfect working condition and cleaning. They didn’t even return the undisputed part of our deposit- the Tenancy Deposit Scheme had to do that for us and saw that much of Gordon & Co’s claims were unfounded so we got most of our deposit back. Would strongly recommend that renters avoid these ruthless sharks unless you want to be subjected to unnecessary stress and have your hard-earned money put at risk. After renting several properties over the last decade I can honestly say this lot are the worst I’ve ever had to deal with.
