Very disappointing experience with Davis Tate Reading. I was progressing the purchase of a property through Davis Tate and followed all the instructions given to me. I made a new mortgage application directly with my bank, provided all the required documents, paid the valuation fee, completed the AML checks and instructed a conveyancer. My bank was happy to proceed and was arranging the valuation through Davis Tate. However, I was then informed by my bank that the surveyor had been told the sale was no longer proceeding. This was the first time I had heard anything about this. What is particularly disappointing is the lack of communication. I sent several emails to the agent handling my purchase but did not receive a response. If the seller had already decided not to proceed, I don't understand why I was asked to continue with the mortgage application and valuation and incur further costs. I have now been told that they are not proceeding with me, despite having invested considerable time and money in the process. I am extremely disappointed with how this was handled, particularly the lack of communication and transparency. I would strongly recommend making sure everything is confirmed in writing before committing to further costs.
