GoogleIncompetent estate agents. Property has been sold from another agents but these guys are still marketing on rightmove several weeks later still! Booked a viewing of an empty property at 3pm Saturday, half an hour later still no one shows up to the viewing and the staff at the branch have no clue what's going on as they could not get in touch with the person who was supposed to be showing us around. Feel sorry for the vendors that potential buyers are being treated this way and missing out on viewings and a potential sale. Won't be using these guys for my purchase.

GoogleShocked to see positive Google reviews after my experience, however it seems that 1) Most reviews are from friends of the staff & 2) There are other reviews suggesting review are "bought" by employees!!
The environment in this office is very uncomfortable, the gentlemen were uninterested when talking to me & the ladies did not look up for their phones for long enough for me to form an opinion!!
Needless to say I hope they do not offer any houses I am interested in as I would hate to have to buy through them!!

Google"Its very rare that I review anyone or anything. Its even rarer that I review a company that I am not using or employing myself directly. The reason for this review is simple. Without a shadow of a doubt Charles Carr deserve full recognition for a job extremely well done! I'm not a fan of Estate Agents and the Agent I have used for this move has disappointed me and will not be getting a review!
All the staff at Charles Carr are extremely friendly and you feel like they actually know their jobs. I've been to properties where clearly the agents knows absolutely nothing about the house they are supposed to be selling which is off putting at best.
Where Charles Carr excel though is in their after sales. I dealt mainly with Louise Carr. She was quite simply excellent! In fact our purchase of the house nearly fell through when the chain fell apart,. Louise did everything she could to keep her vendors happy until we sourced another buyer for our property. Louise went above and beyond herself throughout the whole process. She was in contact with my solicitor, my buyers solicitor, my estate agent and of course myself. Her consistent clear, communication was invaluable.
As everyone knows moving house is stressful enough and we feel that Louise Carr has striven to get us through it with vigor and pace and quite frankly was the only person I could rely on when my solicitor and my estate agent let me down. If I ever decide to move again I would use Charles Carr in a heartbeat but hopefully after this stressful move it will be quite a wile before I do this all again. James P

GoogleViewed a property marketed by Charles Carr Estate Agents. Made an offer in the middle of the guide price. A week later, had a call about another property to view. Said I hadn't had an answer on my offer with previous. He said vendor hadn't decided. Then received text saying a first time buyer had also made an offer so was up to vendor to decide and they would contact me when confirmed. That was two weeks ago. Have since found out that other offer (same as mine but better situation) had been accepted. If they had contacted me, I would have gone to full asking price but wasn't given the opportunity. Also, they were trying to persuade me that if I marketed mine with them, I would get a better service. Their service is bad, communication is worse!! Avoid!

GoogleAs a company they have folded and reopened trading under the same name. This way they have avoided issues with their previous mismanagement of my property. Appalling from start to finish and one to avoid at all costs.
Update: their response to my original review should tell you all you need to know. Incoherent barely literate English and no records (although as a new company technically they will not have access to my complaints against the former).

GoogleTerrible service and not worth the management fee. Impossible to get a response by email and when you phone they say they will call you back but don’t. Constant turn over of staff, which they don’t let you know about. No rent has been paid to me now for 3 months and I have been waiting well over a week for a response on the situation. Come on sort it out!!!!!
UPDATED post response: The fact that you have no record of me, speaks volumes for your service. I suggest you check again against current properties you are managing. At least you respond on here faster than you do to emails.

They are always at the other end of the phone, answer calls out of hours, liaise with solicitors. I am surprised their prices aren't higher. They understand what an emotional journey buying and selling can be and have totally remained professional and honest throughout our process. In particular, Lloyd and Jordan are fantastic. We were particularly impressed with Lauren, who did the viewings on our house. She contacted me pro-actively after each viewing to let me know how it went and to give me some feedback. She has always gone above and beyond and always responds to messages and emails really quickly, which reassured me greatly.
