My experience with carter edwards purchasing my first house has been overall a pleasant journey, understandably they are working for the vendor but I feel as the buyer they took time to understand my needs and what I was looking for in a property and the timescale I was looking to work with, a big thanks to Emma who was a delight and always smiling on numerous viewings we went to, and a big thanks to Louise who finalised some last minute details of the deal, great job don't think I could be happier

This is the first review I have ever wrote, it’s not usually my style. But wow! This estate agent is by far the worst I have ever worked with. Over value just to put it on the market, rush a open house by putting quantity in and not quality. Yes we had 15 viewers, but none of them offered we had three viewers through another agent and got two offers. They were slow with feedback I was supposed to get it the Monday after, they didn’t speak to me at all until Wednesday. My house was left with foot prints. I know sometimes this happens but I would have expected an apology. Feedback was poor- just that they had left a voice mail for a few and a couple of others couldn’t make it on the day. Then we don’t hear from them until every other Wednesday when they call us for a update and tell us absolutely nothing! Just yes the markets picking up... blah blah. But nothing has. I know of the owner of this company and I’m aware he has a horrid reputation but I also here’d they do some stuff well so I thought I would give it a go. By the looks of things they were good.... but not anymore. There doing down... fast! I would really advise anyone else who’s going on he market with them to go on with two agent at the same time... you reallyk will see a difference. Good luck to anyone else using them!

Incompetent estate agents. Property has been sold from another agents but these guys are still marketing on rightmove several weeks later still! Booked a viewing of an empty property at 3pm Saturday, half an hour later still no one shows up to the viewing and the staff at the branch have no clue what's going on as they could not get in touch with the person who was supposed to be showing us around. Feel sorry for the vendors that potential buyers are being treated this way and missing out on viewings and a potential sale. Won't be using these guys for my purchase.

"Its very rare that I review anyone or anything. Its even rarer that I review a company that I am not using or employing myself directly. The reason for this review is simple. Without a shadow of a doubt Charles Carr deserve full recognition for a job extremely well done! I'm not a fan of Estate Agents and the Agent I have used for this move has disappointed me and will not be getting a review! All the staff at Charles Carr are extremely friendly and you feel like they actually know their jobs. I've been to properties where clearly the agents knows absolutely nothing about the house they are supposed to be selling which is off putting at best. Where Charles Carr excel though is in their after sales. I dealt mainly with Louise Carr. She was quite simply excellent! In fact our purchase of the house nearly fell through when the chain fell apart,. Louise did everything she could to keep her vendors happy until we sourced another buyer for our property. Louise went above and beyond herself throughout the whole process. She was in contact with my solicitor, my buyers solicitor, my estate agent and of course myself. Her consistent clear, communication was invaluable. As everyone knows moving house is stressful enough and we feel that Louise Carr has striven to get us through it with vigor and pace and quite frankly was the only person I could rely on when my solicitor and my estate agent let me down. If I ever decide to move again I would use Charles Carr in a heartbeat but hopefully after this stressful move it will be quite a wile before I do this all again. James P

Viewed a property marketed by Charles Carr Estate Agents. Made an offer in the middle of the guide price. A week later, had a call about another property to view. Said I hadn't had an answer on my offer with previous. He said vendor hadn't decided. Then received text saying a first time buyer had also made an offer so was up to vendor to decide and they would contact me when confirmed. That was two weeks ago. Have since found out that other offer (same as mine but better situation) had been accepted. If they had contacted me, I would have gone to full asking price but wasn't given the opportunity. Also, they were trying to persuade me that if I marketed mine with them, I would get a better service. Their service is bad, communication is worse!! Avoid!

House Purchase

We are currently in the process of buying a house with Charles Carr and we have to say that Emma has made the whole experience a lot easier for us. When viewing houses she was able to book us into viewings last minute and also had an enthusiastic approach to the houses we viewed. Since our offer has been accepted she has been helpful in organising solicitors to contact us and also put us in touch with our mortgage advisor. A great buying experience!

George was very helpful and informative throughout the buying process. Initially we were not able to attend the open house but he encouraged us to, not in a pressured way but he genuinely came from the point of view that he didn’t want us to miss out. Despite having a negative view of estate agents before our move, Charles Carr have completely changed that and I highly recommend them and will to any friends/family in the future. They kept their promises through out, we had so many viewings, and sold within 2 weeks for the price discussed at the beginning! Louise was also excellent in taking care and pushing the completion through. We had a couple of friends also looking to buy and they where all contacted from Charles Carr about our property not knowing they where our friends so they obviously do a lot of work in the back ground which I wouldn't normally trust estate agents to do. We even had a rival estate agent drop a note through the door slating Charles Carr, saying they're this and that, but as a business owner that spoke volumes to us knowing their rivals are out dropping notes through people doors rather then selling their own properties, obviously struggling with the competition.

I am renting a flat through Aspect agency more than 6 years now. As a tenant I can say my experience with them was seamless. The measure of how good is a tenant - agency/ landlord relation is how fast are they reacting when you have a problem (maintenance issue). I can say they are fast and taking good care of their tenants: over the 6 years they've replaced few white goods in the kitchen and arranged for plumbing in the bathroom. All replacements/ repairings were good quality. Hannah is my main contact in the agency and I've arranged with her almost all the above over this 6 years+.

I would like to thank Louise for everything she has done over the last few weeks. Her communication is outstanding, she always kept us informed, if she was unable to take a call she would always ensure she called me back and was always very quick to respond to emails.
