We both sold our house and purchased our new home in the local area with the help of David and his team at Locksbottom. We discreetly marketed our property in the first instance but this was not effective so after a few months had it advertised through Rightmove and after a few weeks a buyer was found and a price agreed . Initially communication with Alan de Maid was not as we would have expected on the sale but this did significantly improve as the sale progressed . The process became complicated because the buyer had problems with the service provided by their solicitor and they had to change solicitors . At this point David really came into his own with daily liaison with the buyer and their representatives and keeping us informed of progress . As we were downsizing and wanting to stay in our area the number of properties available that met our needs was quite limited but David and his team were able to help us find the perfect property which we were able to move into on the same day we completed our sale. Overall we have been very pleased with the support we received from David and his team and would use them again if we were moving but have no plans to do so in the near future !

Don’t be fooled

The agent came in with what sounded like a really good robust approach about how families are moving to our area and they have a database with all their other agencies around the country. In the 16 weeks we were on the market with them we had a sum total of 3 viewings. The photographer refused to show me the photos taken. They were awful, so much so that it looked like the carpeting was raw concrete. The brochure had inaccurate information, was full of spelling mistakes and poor English. I demanded an edit. Between getting the photographer and brochure right it wasted three weeks. We constantly had to chase on information about viewings and feedback. The agent was late for all 3 appointments while the viewers were on time. No apology or calling ahead. Don’t be fooled by the marketing jargon and being told that their agents are proactive and motivated. It’s all lies.

Maria was our main POC and she delivered exceptional service with timely updates, a balanced view on both sides of the buyer/seller relationship and in general kept us up in the loop with everything going on. TOP ESTATE AGENTS!!! We literally couldn't have asked for anything more from this AMAZING TEAM!! On the initial meeting with James we were confident that he would be friendly, professional, and Alan De Maid would sell our property for a good price, and quickly. He said he would be able to help us with things that we needed, and he certainly did deliver, and went over and above stating that he is happy to help anyone who struggles, it is "what they do". (husband and I aren't good with technology and were nervous of the amount of papers we had to read and fill in), but nothing was ever too much trouble, they helped us so much EVERY STEP OF THE WAY....even after there was an offer on our house they kept in contact, chased up the rest of the chain, solicitors, and I can honestly say that I'm sure the whole chain would have fallen apart if it wasn't for their hard work, professionalism and care about us as their clients. Everything was dealt with, with confidence and such a warm reassuring mannerism. James was very quick and efficient with any questions, even if he wasn't in the office, the rest of the team were straight onto anything I needed to ask or do, James or Matt always called me back quickly. Matt I knew was the perfect person to sell the house...he has such a lovely way about him that I felt whoever put an offer in would be genuinely interested, I could tell he got buyers that would be interested in our property/area, and he was always friendly, polite, not pushy so I never worried that the sale may fall through at all. Caleb, Dario and the rest of the team always had big smile and friendly greeting. Thanks to these amazing Estate Agents (especially James's obvious wealth of knowledge and experience , and as husband said "cool, calm, collected" approach to every situation, we were in our Dream Home for Christmas....we even got a call afterwards from James to ask if we had settled in ok and to wish us well in our New Home, which we thought was lovely. absolutely shocking company, A Woman showed up, half dressed in a short tight dress, to give the keys for a flat back in 2022 summer time, extremely unprofessional. Oliver is extremely rude on phone calls brushing off client and does not have a care in the world to follow up after promising to do so. They will do whatever it takes for the business of their Landlords that are with them, rather than helping the tenants. Disgraceful company and shocking service.
